I like how it takes something mundane - like working a 9 to 5 job - and adds RPG mechanics to it. A very unique take on the genre!

eerongal 2022-10-03 20:20

Well that's definitely an interesting take. The graphics and sound were great, and the idea was really novel. All in all was pretty good fun, though there's a lot to take in when it comes to the 10 second time limit.

senso 2022-10-03 20:26

Nice game , had a fun time playing it!

cobrajs 2022-10-03 20:42

I really liked this! I was only slightly familiar with what buff/debuff meant (should have read the description more carefully), but once I got the hang of it it was a lot of fun. The scrolling in the Deck Builder (scrolling with the mouse wheel that is) needs a bit of improvement, as it only seems to scroll by a half pixel at a time haha. I really liked the humor as well (being all too familiar with corporate culture)! Well done!

I love card games and having a time limited card battle thing was something I would love to have done ... got too scared though and gave up that idea. yours is so neaaaaat

a feedback i have is that I got tooo desperate to drag the cards ... maybe something quicker like clicking and then clicking to select enemy .. or even keyboard shortcuts ...

Always love seeing card games in game jams, the art and humor were great too

Not too horiblle art but next time try invest time more into art. Partly match the theme, maybe next time it will be better.. Fun factor is not high at this game, but maybe next time you will think more about that and it will be better. Good and inovative game, good work.

thementalsheep 2022-10-04 01:09

That was so fun!! like one of the most fun card games i've played that has come from a game jam. The art was great the music was fun to listen to and the thing I liked the most was the corporate humor. Well done!

karbirus 2022-10-04 01:25

it's a really fun game! an interesting concept :)

owinmowe 2022-10-04 01:49

Super nice mechanics! Loved it from start to end.

coda-highland 2022-10-04 03:35

I'm a little confused by the mechanics. I see how it's supposed to work, but it seems like my best strategy is to just spam cards without paying attention. But I can see what you were going for. The graphics are solid and the humor is pretty good.

dxk2294 2022-10-04 05:55

Wow, there was a surprising amount of depth to the card mechanics! I appreciate that you can build your deck and really tweak things to your playstyle. Nice job!

paul-avallone 2022-10-04 06:07

I think it's really funny that you chose an office as the environment for a deckbuilding strategy game. Small bug: You can continually click and drag cards to attack and ignore the timer so you can cheat the game. I like the card descriptions. Good job.

astrydax 2022-10-04 06:33

Awesome game. Seriously good game mechanics.

zungryware 2022-10-04 06:44

The combat was a bit confusing. It was only after I read your description of what each card type does that I started to understand it. It's simple, but fun to execute. I went for an all-attack build where I try to play three damage-boost cards and then two attack cards. It was very strong.

Combat really needs sound effects and animations. I really had no idea what was going on in the first few fights.

Little thing, but make it so when a new card enters your hand it replaces the one you just used. Currently, it puts it on the right and shifts the other cards over. This is a bit annoying since you might plan to use a card right after but then it chances places.

I enjoy the premise and the "storyline" you get for each employee in the office.

This game is very unpolished, but is still fun at a base level.

Pretty cool! Lots of content done for 3 days and pretty easy to grasp how to play. Good job!

venfola 2022-10-04 09:38

Good idea! Fun to play and the humor is pretty good, but either I missed something or you can just use as many cards as you can during the 10 seconds which lose any strategy you may have. And the effect of the cards once you play them is not always clear, maybe more feedback would have been great.

phillip-scott 2022-10-04 14:08

Was fun, I enjoyed it - We got bought out, I just rammed all the cards in and downed coffee

The card combat was ok, but lacked polish - there seemed to be a limit on how many cards you can play in your ten seconds but even after completing it it was hard to judge.

shuimen 2022-10-04 17:21

Cool! I really like card games like that. Good job!

quabmara 2022-10-04 17:31

Really cool! I really like the concept.

trusty 2022-10-05 03:43

Had fun playing this one. Was able to make it to the end. Good job!

robobarbie 2022-10-05 04:50

I love a great corpo simulator like this. It was really fun to play through and see all the quirky lines!! And the pixel art was very cute. Nice job!!

chairshot-games 2022-10-05 05:02

Always cool to see card games in Ludum Dare. Really liked the game, the mechanics were fun and I liked getting to rebuild the deck. The office setting was original and clever as well. One thing, and this might just be on me, but I couldn't figure out what the money was used for. Also the Fullscreen in WebGL doesn't work at my resolution and everything looked very stretched out. Overall I had a lot of fun and I'm impressed by how much you got done in 3 days!

cosmonautical 2022-10-05 06:23

Obviously, like everyone I love Slay the Spire. Unfortunately the problem you're facing is that there is (at least one other) deckbuilder-but-on-a-timer game in the game jam, so I'm going to compare yours a little to that one. What you did better was the humour of the game, but also the mechanics were far more interesting. I could actually pick what went into my deck and begin to create a strategy (two attack boost followed by 3 attacks was dominant, I FTK a couple fights). What your game lacked a little however was the feeling of playing the cards. It was hard to place the cards on the enemies quickly, and they didn't have a sense of "this is a thing you control doing stuff". Essentially, I would have loved to have a lot more juice/polish in a game like this. I think it could have been one of my favourite games in the jam if the cards felt nice to play

pschichtel 2022-10-05 13:49

I love the humor of this game.

skel3ton 2022-10-05 16:47

a peculiarly addictive card game. I would appreciate if I could see the number of life in some visual bar instead of ordinary numbers. I appreciated that I could also create my own card decks and the topic of fights in the office is realy funny

atwooooooood 2022-10-05 17:39

Good job! I really love the idea of challenging your colleague。

faust-mi 2022-10-06 06:51

Office and card butler, what could be more beautiful)) Good job!

sarah-alexa 2022-10-06 19:18

It took a bit of getting used to how the combat worked at first but I loved this. At first I thought it was one card per enemy per turn but then once I figured out that isn't the case it really opened up! I think I'd love if you clicked on the enemy you wanted to target and had an indicator for that and then just clicked cards to use them but that's a small thing.

The dialogue was fun and though I found I only really needed attack cards once I figured things out, I had a lot of fun smashing corporate faces with my work! With some Pokemon style movement and multiple floors you could have a fun game of just going through businesses and smashing through the corporate ladder!

Very good take on a deck building game. No tediousness or over complicating things, just quick fun gameplay.

Awww, what a lovely coworker.

This was such a neat entry! I'm always a sucker for deckbuilding games, and I enjoyed the Office Battle Royale setting that you guys leaned into here.

The back half of the game was a bit of a breeze once I discovered the master strat of stacking attack buffs and one-shotting everything, but the process of figuring out I could even do that was fun to discover!

Awesome job with this, y'all.
