Really good looking game, the gameplay was fun, maybe the haptics on the controller were a bit too powerful I got to wave 16

I love the aesthetic! The name BEANSTALKERS is really good. I found the range of the scythe to be claustrophobic, requiring a lot of very precise movement to avoid getting hit by the things I'm hitting. The rumble on hitting an enemy added a lot of oomph! Felt really good to whack things.
My aversion to consuming resources meant that I rarely used the spells, focusing on the towers instead. Not sure if that's the soundest strategy but hey, I love towers.
Really liked the whistling game over song also! Makes it sting less.
Haptics tuned in an under-the-wire patch 😅
@thristhart Thanks dude! I have been up to wave 15 without really using the spells, but I think to get much farther you have to beacuse being close to the veggies increases the risk of being booped by a small mushroom lol.
Thanks for the kind words about my whistles :D
This has the look and feel of an arcade game, and I'm thankful I have a controller ready.
Great look and feel. Combat felt good, glad to see controller games getting some love!
I really liked retro style from the first screen.
Quite a variety of collectibles and enemies.
Great game!
Really cool game. But also really hard. When the mushrooms comes, I'm toast. Just not enough damage to deal with them. Game feels good. Wish I could upgrade my attack speed with the scythe though. Super entry!
Despite playing with keyboard, the controls felt very good! As a resource hoarder, I really appreciated the 360 hi-powered scythe attack heheh... Of course I got overwhelmed, but it was very satisfying to pop the bigboys xD Amazing level of polish. Awesome game!
Really interesting movement and combat (I was playing with PC), at first I struggled, but later I read the game info more carefully (good job on providing instructions!), generally, I liked the vibe and genre, the sound and music fit the vibe, tho didn't survive the second wave 3 times in a row, but maybe I am a shitty player :D Nice job!
Cool game, I really like the mood. But I don't like the fact that the upgrade menu don't pause the game! Nice aesthetic!
This game was really engaging. I got to wave 17. The art was very beautiful and visuals felt really good. This has to be the one of the best Ludum Dare executions I have ever seen..Great job
Wow that was super fun! The pacing was excellent, and I kept wanting to play again and again after losing. Gameplay, graphics, music, sound effects were all superb too.
This is an excellent submission, great job!
Fun game, I like the old tv effect you have on the game. Graphics and music are good too, overall a very good game
Really fun game! Struggled a lot at the beginning with the big corn monsters but had a lot of fun playing. I played and forgot to rate and then ended up playing it again before rating! Addictive, well done !
Well done! It's worth playing many times. I played twice, once mainly upgrated Eldritch Blast and the other upgrate scythe. Scarlet fire seems a little bit weak(
Thanks for the feedback @tyin The intention for Scarlet Fire is that it has full-screen range so you can use it to catch stragglers before they get to the bottom of the board. It does start very weak though! 🙂
Really fun game ! Effective and beautiful art congratulation :)
One of my favourites from the jam! Really like the retro graphics and simple but satisfying gameplay. The big loot drops from enemies upon harvesting really hit the spot. Gotta love Godot
An absolute blast, even on mouse&keyboard it was not that hard to follow the commands. Maybe a bit slow in the beginning but it snowballs very quickly
Well made
Awesome shooting and hit feedback! The whole game seems really polished and fun! The gameplay of harvesting resources from enemies made me think of *Doom Eternal* (However health cannot be recovered from killing enermies in this game).
Totally impressive game experience! Thanks for your game!
Loved the aesthetics! I don't have a controller handy, so I played with keyboard and mouse, which was manageable. Congrats!
Now here's an arcade game! That was very fun, the difficulty really speeds up on wave 3. I think the default controls are a little hard given that you kinda need to learn how to shoot your projectiles and swing very quickly if you want to win.
AWESOME vibe! Love the CRT effect and the clear goal/mehcanics of a wave defender are well done. The music is GREAT, it really sets the mood. The only feedback I have is about balancing, which I understand due to time contraints is always something hard to do! But I feel like the enemies drop too much money and too little gems (sorry if they're not called gems). But otherwise, awesome entrie!
@bigjam Absolutely something we've been discussing in the days since the jam finished, it's tricky to test economy with the limited time.
Holy hell, amazing game ! The graphics are super crisp and made in such a short time frame, and the gameplay is super engaging
Nice aestethics, everything is so thematic. Great gameplay, loved that you could use gems both actively and passively.
Also great decision partition screen into ~rectangle and use up space on the sides to show reminders about gameplay, and at the same time making it look like in-game adverts
My only suggestion is to add `how to play` button in the pause menu as well. I didn't read it initially and totally missed the upgrades and crafting part of the game. Then reading through the comments realized, I was missing something during my playthrough.
But then the second playthrough with all the upgrades and constructions was even more satisfying. Great entry
