Really cool idea!
Nice art and audio and great dialogue! Very well polished game.
Nice gameplay loop, ui and feedback along the game.
Amazing game! In terms of gameplay, this was the best I've played on the jam so far. In addition to that, everything is very very concise and polished.
If you expand this game post jam, I would love to have a counter of how many movements I made, to try to break my own "records".
Nice concept and I love that there is a well explained tutorial when you start! After a while playing you start getting better at it, which is quite nice. I think a slider that shows the jump strenght would help. It has potential, specially for something like touch screen devices.
Hi @imberny, thank you very much! Yes, I did everything myself during the time of the jam. The art was hand drawn in procreate(ipad) and the music was done in a piano vst and an analog synth that I have(Deepmind 12) + a few details in ableton live. Initially I wanted to try the compo category but I ran out of time cause I still struggle a bit with the programming.
Thank you very much @scott-redrup!
nice graphics!
Nice art, simple yet effective gameplay.
this was incredibly fun! bend.jpg
Very nice that with some simple sound fx you gave a lot of personality to the little creatures.
5 stars on mood and style
A really well made game, very good entry. A few points that in my opinion could be improved:
- In this game, we are moving with WASD and then your mouse attack takes over any WASD input, making the player have to wait for the attack to finish to be able to control movement again. This is just my personal opinion but, in this kind of top down game, tight control over the movement is something essential, and it is lost due to this duality of mouse attack/direction also affecting movement. I would personally like much more if the attack didnt affect movement at all(hotline miami style), or if you attack in the direction you are already moving to(hyper light drifter style).
- Shift to dash is a standard on this kind of game and it just works.
Very creative and very well executed! I love how everything works so well together(visual style, music and story).
I like how you used the start screen to teach the player the mechanics. Nice concept overall!
I like the art of the Character and its animations, but the platforms are pixel art and the rest is high res art, that breaks the consistency of the visuals. I believe there's a lot of potential in this art if you keep the same visual style used in the character for the rest of the game.
I really like the visual style and the mood. The poetry also adds to the experience.
This one is really nice. It really brings you into the story. Original, audio/visually well-made, emotional and with actually something to tell.
