It says, "A password is required to view this page"?
thx, i remove the password and change the page to public :)
A fun and creepy game, in my opinion. I really liked the sound design; it creates an atmosphere. The gameplay is interesting, but until I read the description, I didn’t understand the point of the game. I enjoyed it, great work.
Thx :) An In-game tutorial was planned but due to lack of time , i scraped it ^^'
A very satisfying scalpel mechanic! I really like the idea! "Papers, please"-esque but autopsy!
The idea of dating the body by the bugs infesting it is extremely creative. It took me a little to figure out how to make appropriate scalpel cuts but then I found tons of bugs, lol!
Inspiring concept! I like it. The art style is really good too. and yes, if there is some propre instruction in game, it would be better. Good game!
Wow, this is one of the best ideas I've seen here!
Sadly, the game froze my browser every time after a couple cuts.
"Trauma Center" X "Papers, Please" ? Interesting entry, satisfying to play. I hope you enjoyed your spaghetti meal :)
What a really cleaver idea! It felt like working at a morgue and I love the idea of being a detective in an autopsy, finding the cause of death. One usability feedback is that I wish the typeface was easier to read. It was difficult to parse out the words on some of the report pages. Also the pixel art felt like it could have been a bit more high fidelity on the bugs in order to help me determine which was which. Overall a solid way to take the theme and add an interesting mechanic, the sound design was excellent also!
It is interesting and well done.
A little bug usage have helped me solve a case : p (We can click on bottom right buttons even on the conclusion page)
Well done interesting concept and cool mechanics, the game just crashed a few times for me.
Nice game! The idea and concept of the game are very interesting, I found it a bit complicated, and it crashed my browser a few times. Overall, good job!
@crimoudin @renier @psv-games-studio Thx for your message and sorry for the freeze crash. What browser do you use?
@brendan-milos Thx for you comment :) Bugs pixel art when they are on organs are intentionally chaotic but once you put them on the orange plate they become high fidelity :) i made this to force player to take them with the chopstick ^^
Interesting idea, but unfortunately I didn’t particularly enjoyed playing it. The docs are pretty hard to read (too few pixels per letter), and several controls are annoying/hard to understand (for instance somehow we can make cuts outside the body, it is unclear what the syringe is for, it is unclear how to deal with insects that leave the plate).
Good job! As for a single author, the completion is nearly perfect. I like the sfx of lab, which presents a sense of weird or frightening, and the cutting sound is indeed disgusting to me, but it's real. The style of graphics is great!
Thank you for your really great submission!
This is honestly one of the strongest entries I've played so far in this LD Jam.
As a big fan of medicine and anatomy, I think that’s part of why I enjoyed it so much. The organ graphics are really well done, and the atmosphere, combined with the music, fits perfectly.
Unfortunately, I personally found it a bit too difficult... I couldn’t complete an autopsy, even though I played for quite a while.
Still, it was a really great experience!
very interesting game. papers please but autopsy. great stuff, a bit confusing regarding the end goal but still looking very good!
Nice concept, I've spent a good 15 minutes playing it (and failing miserably) and will definitely come back playing again!
I love the concept! The gameplay seems a bit buggy (no pun intended), though - sometimes the samples in the tray would vanish upon bringing up the docs.
I'm also curious why there are two physically identical versions of the moth lifecycle that differ only in timescale. I was badly confused as to how swamp mill moth larvae were cohabiting with diadem spiders until I noticed they were supposed to be *sand* mill moths!
@fractal It looks like if cuts start oozing, the corpse starts jittering, so you need to use the syringe to siphon the ooze away.
Really interesting idea and take on the theme! I really like the art style, even though it's a bit difficult at times to read the reports. Also I was a bit confused as, after opening all organs, I felt like I had not enough info for understanding the cause or time of death; maybe I just needed to get my hands dirty a bit more and really cut every last bit of organs open :D
One of my favorite game of this jam! The gamefeel is so good, and the visuals may seem simple but are very effective and full of little details. And I love that your goal is to date the death of the body, this is so creative. The only thing I wasn't sure about is where do I have to cut with the scalpel, so I was cutting everywhere 🙃 Congrats, that's an amazing entry!
Great concept! I love the idea and the graphics is super consistent. Really clean pixel art and nice animations on the bugs! The over all look feels super polished :D
When cutting the organs I basically went ham, since I didn't understand if the bugs in the organs actually had collision or if they just popped out of a timer. I think just for atmospheric reasons it would be nice if there was a buldging animation where to cut, and that would then spawn the bug.
This is sort of hard to word properly, but I think you need a "story balance" of when the different kinds of bugs can exist on a corpse. Identifying bugs felt really great, but I didn't like to try to figure out the result. I think the issue is the intervals they can spawn. It would probably be more fun if there were more overlap of the intervals. To me eyeing through the document it felt like most bugs invalidated it downward to about a day or two, and upward to about 5 - 10 days. But it felt like there were little overlap. I havn't solved it but it looked like the solution is to cap it from both direction and then find the one outlier that actually can affect the mid range. And that felt a bit tedious to me :P I think it would be better if there was bigger spread "This spider only exist between 36 - 45 hours", "this moth is here for six hours, then gone for six". To me, that would probably make it a bit more about thinking, rather than remembering.
All that said, I'm super impressed and I really liked the game!
Very nice art style! There only was hard to read grey text on grey background when you submit your answer to report.
Fantastic visuals and eerie audio.
I'm a big fan of the 'cause of death' puzzle aspect, and the game looks and feels great with the gameboy-esque visuals. I would almost say it veers a little too hard into the aesthetic, making some elements a bit hard to read, like the insects being separate from the incisions made with the scalpel. The audio is very fitting, creepy and simple. Great work, hope you enjoyed the jam!
It's really nice to have a game which engages you to "read the docs". I read it too rapidly the first time and did not realized the days about the spiders were cumulative.
Sounds made with spaghettis or your mouth are great. But the ambiant humming tends to be annoying over time.
It's a creepy way to use the LD theme, I loved it !
I expected different sorts of liquid, with different colors and ways to escape from the organ, but single type liquid is cool too.
It deserves other "levels" (body to autopsy), with more types of insects, more docs, etc.
I had a great moment playing this game. Thank you !
Very clever idea and the game has very nice style to it. Music got a bit annoying after a while, maybe there was some issue since there was some popping sounds in it or maybe it was intentional, not sure. It felt a bit difficult but that might be partly because I didn't have enough concentration to deduce all the timings of each creature. Great job on the game!
Gameplay is not my cup of tea, but I can tell that it is a well-made game. I like the graphics and audio.
P.S. In case you don't know, the Godot Threads HTML5 export works much better (on Itch you have to enable 'SharedArrayBuffer').
Interesting concept! Didn't finish all the organs, but I really like the concept and polish.
Wow its rare to see such complete and well designed game for a jam! Sadly it crashed couple of times, so i was not able to finish it...
this is such an interesting and cool take on the theme. we initially thought of something kind of similar initially but ultimately we went with something else. It's great to see this kinda concept fully fleshed out
There's so many great little details, the sound effects really sell the vibe.
I thought the gameplay was really cool, having to figure out the cause of death. Sometimes when I try to grab the bugs they seem to glitch and just stay somewhere on the screen. I also had the game crash once but after that it didn't happen again.
great entry!
I don't know if I've ever felt such dread reading the instructions for a game before playing it...
You really nailed the aesthetic here. The audio is especially good, the sound effects feel really visceral and the sudden 'triumphant' music clashing with the normal ambient audio creates an excellent spooky effect. Graphics also make great use of only a few colors. I found some of the 'mystery-solving' aspects a little hard to understand, but I might just be bad at this kind of game.
Minor bug report: Often the game would freeze for me for a bit on Firefox if I did too much cutting, but it would recover after a bit.
