I didn't realise that I had to sit on the each planet for such a long time, became frustrating but got the hang of it. overall a cute game.

kykypy3o8 2023-05-02 09:34

nice game, good hardoce physics, intersting gameplay, good chiptune, i realy like game))

obe-dot 2023-05-02 19:33

Fun game, good music.

pauldee427 2023-05-02 19:57

I like that game can get pretty intense. The difficulty relies on mastering the movement which I think works well. I think the game would benefit from more variety in the game loop, but it's an enjoyable experience nonetheless.

the-fazzo 2023-05-03 20:12

Hey, really nice game! It´s very solid. The game design is well implemented (like having a tab for the listing jobs and what to do when there are multiple deliveries accepted). Congrats for the music and sfx are very good! They add a lot to the game. After a while I got bored because it was repetitive, having upgrades, more enemies or different tasks for the jobs definitely will improve a ton the game.

Great entry, I had a lot of fun!

kutase 2023-05-03 20:15

Nice game! Looks very similar to my team's old game from LD 37 - https://nebulate.itch.io/never-ending-spacemare.

rjdrag 2023-05-03 20:34

Pretty cool. I like how the planets are actually orbiting, though it makes it harder to understand where they are at any point.

dexort 2023-05-03 20:53

Nice little game! Orbiting planets are cool. Controls are kinda hard, but I guess it's like in old days of arcade machines. Nice music theme, cute sounds. Pretty fun to play, but a bit hard =D Some critique: 1. There is some lag on my machine. I have a pretty good windows pc, but it kinda struggles. 2. Sprite size is inconsistent, but overall direction is nice. 3. It's hard to aim with this control scheme. 4. You can't really read the dialog while piloting, but I guess you don't really need to.

Need to say this - piloting with right hand and managing jobs with left felt weird at first (tab and y/n keys are pretty far apart). BUT it gave me a great feeling of being a busy pilot (or minibus driver in Russia ahaha)

hey all! i really appreciate the feedback so far, it's been very good to see! i am glad to see the responses to the game and it's refreshing to see at least some enjoyment of the idea, haha.

@catbutt yeah it can definitely take a second to load/unload jobs, especially large ones (3 size jobs are especially brutal), as it was an aspect i ultimately didn't have time to spend tweaking. i'm glad it eventually at least clicked a bit!

@kutase hey yeah! nice work on getting interaction and upgrades implemented, i would have loved to have done that but i ran out of time, it looks very polished though!

@the-fazzo agreed, my goals were to have energy management and ship repairs/upgrades in the final version, as well as more enemy types. i definitely lost a LOT of hours on sunday though to getting the enemies properly working as i originally wanted them to operate with inertia like the player and after the umpteenth playtest that had them launch themselves into deep space at .2c, i figured i needed to change directions, haha. oh well!

@rjdrag yeah, i was hoping that the planet indicators would be enough but i also found myself struggling at times to move in an optimal path towards them! i guess the downsides of picking such a low resolution to render the game at, lol

thanks again all!

savidiy 2023-05-03 21:05

Great game. Nice setting. The assistant speaks too fast for me, I don't have time to read. I think I was clenching my teeth, trying to overcome the inertia of the ship =)

team-gaivot 2023-05-04 01:33

Wow, great job on the movements and physics! The planets moving around the sun was a very nice touch, although the parallax got me a little dizzy. Solid entry!!

colin-misbach 2023-05-04 07:32

Love the style. The one thing that was hard was knowing which packages go to where. I think one of the jobs expired or something and I couldn't pick anymore packages up, at least that's what I think happened in my first playthrough.

But the graphics, audio, and gameplay really got me immersed in a cool idea. The movement was satisfying. Fun game!

lisyarus 2023-05-04 14:11

Nice game, although I felt overwhelmed at lot with it: you need to both keep track of where you're heading, and the time limits that are only visible while holding the Tab key, and the popup messages in the bottom of the screen, and the enemies sometimes covered by those enemies, etc. The numbers over the planets in the Tab panel are really hard to read, I didn't even notice them at first and couldn't figure out what to do. Overall I think it is a cool concept but the UX needs some improvements.

blazerdom 2023-05-04 14:14

Good job! IMHO it would not be bad if the ship had weak front and side engines

xamora 2023-05-05 06:58

Very funny game ! You did a great job. I just don't understand how to repair the space ship, and it is possible to make 2 missions in same time ?

zbugba 2023-05-05 07:09

Nice game, really enjoyed my attempts on making the deliveries! I've got to admit though that I feel like the game punish you too hard with the damage you receive when you try to fly through the sun and when enemies hit you. Given there is no way to repair your ship (unless there is?) I felt like once I get hit few times I'm screwed and there is no coming back (perhaps that was your intention).

Side question: are planets orbiting speed matching real life planets speed? Relatively of course :D

Cheers!

bmanstudio 2023-05-05 11:25

Haha sounds so much similar to our game "Orbit Express" lol Unfortunatley, I can't try out your game as I'm using Macbook :( Can you perhaps make a WebGL build and upload?

gamedocs 2023-05-05 11:33

good game! I like the Art! Great job

twobitadder 2023-05-05 19:32

hi again everybody! i'm happy to see more input.

@team-gaivot i'm sorry about the parallax! i didn't even think to have an option to disable it until i noticed on another entry that somebody was talking about motion sickness and i went "oh no"

@xamora you should be able to take a bunch! one of the things i should have explained better (read: at all) is that you have 4 slots of cargo space and jobs take 1-3 slots. you can pick up more cargo assuming you have the space, so you can grab nearby jobs at planets before moving around elsewhere. also to answer your and @zbugba's question, every 5 deliveries you get a small amount of health back, as well as another strike. i wanted to have a mechanic where you could dock and repair your ship after paying money but i ran out of time unfortunately :(

@bmanstudio i'll check your game out! i just uploaded a web build but it may not play nice with firefox - unfortunately i don't have a mac so i can't properly sign any mac builds, but maybe one day haha.

thanks again!

alpalcalad 2023-05-05 21:44

Hey cool game had a good time playing. Controls weren't a problem for me but i could see it being very unforgiving. It wasn't very clear how many chances i had left- I thought i had only failed one but it ended anyway. Other than that good vibes and with a bit of extra content and other things to do like maybe ship upgrades or customisation would really make the game great

asfdfdfd 2023-05-06 15:39

Coukld not Could reliably fight drones :( BUT the other mechanics are soo nice glued together. Before i die i really had fun, ha-ha!

psv-games-studio 2023-05-13 01:20

Nice game! Good Job!

jordantanner 2023-05-17 05:28

I thought the UI and dialogue elements were really polished and well done! Spaceship control was fun once I got the hang of it. I found myself needing a little more direction as far as where to go as it wasn't immediately clear to me. Combat was tricky too. Dig the whole space vibe for sure, well done man!

pavel-tararin 2023-05-18 15:14

Sorry, but I didn't understand at all what to do in this game. In addition to movement and shooting, it is not very clear what else to do - there is not enough explanation. I flew up to the planets, and what's next is unclear. Old-school music - I liked it. It's great that there are sounds. The controls are complicated, but it's even fun.
