The WebGL build made my Chrome crash, I'm on Mac with Apple Silicon

I like the style of the map, but the gameplay with adding a vendor is weird, I just fill in all the boxes, but I don't understand why or what it's for.

gerolmed 2023-05-02 17:41

Very cool concept. The gameplay was very luck based and I wish there was more importance to the cargo storage.

lascif 2023-05-02 17:41

I really like the concept. It would be nice if there was more variety of things to happen to you at sea, especially good things but I guess that's optimistic thinking!

iqoribou 2023-05-02 17:42

Fun game, had a bit of trouble to understand a first, i think the game or atleast the itch page could be a better job telling what the player actually has to do, i loaded up a bunch of supplies and ginseng and what not, not knowing how much money they make, ended up in the negative on both of my runs. The game is very pretty though and I think there's potential there. Could also use some different shapes most items are only squares right now except one.

mitur 2023-05-02 17:44

I enjoyed the art style very much, thank you!

anchrist 2023-05-02 17:49

I was on firefox and no crashes here. Really great game art and fun game!

frnknstn 2023-05-02 17:55

@bmanstudio Did it crash while loading? Sometimes it can seem to lock up but will load in the end.

saviqq 2023-05-02 18:02

In my opinion, theme and art are main selling points of this game. Good work! Clever work-around of not adding music by suggesting Longest Jonhs playlist :P (now I have new playlist to listen while working, thanks :D). For mechanics, if I got it right, it's meant to be kind of "inventory" management game, but I had to fill the boat before tide timer runs out, which made me anxious :D Also game felt really hard :D

bmanstudio 2023-05-02 18:23

@frnknstn Actually it didn't, but trust me - the Chrome won't recover from that state it reached haha Did you try it on Macbook? M1? if you did, and it takes more than 2 minutes to load - let me know and I'll try again :)

movealonghome 2023-05-02 18:32

@lascif Thanks for your comments. We plan to do a more fleshed out version off this game in the post-jam version with more card variants and a better cargo interface and some at sea art to separate the card event screens. Hope you will give it a try when we get it out on itch.io

frnknstn 2023-05-02 18:55

@bmanstudio I asked a friend with an M1 and their exact words were "It hasn't "crashed" as yet, but Chrome has pretty much locked up. If I wait long enough, and tell Chrome to ignore the fact that the page has hung, it eventually loads and is payable". I guess the Godot engine web player is a bit aggressive when it's loading?

bmanstudio 2023-05-02 19:09

@frnknstn Yep, that's describes what I had, but for me it looked like it will never stop loading. I would call that a crash, but I guess it's not an actual "crash", as the app didn't closed by itself (or when I asked it nicely to, haha). No worries, It happend to me with other Godot games, I guess it hasn't to do with your game :)

Interesting concept that just needed more polish and variety. Good job!

badcop 2023-05-03 10:42

i made a profit of -169, which is pretty good I'd say

filgreen3 2023-05-03 18:18

Cool idea! Style is amazing! Game have great potential!

sprunth 2023-05-04 06:54

Love the artwork and mood. Maybe having more crates of different shapes would have kept it more interesting. Though I'm not sure if that was a challenge you wanted players to have

aaronkaa 2023-05-04 09:52

Fun concept, but way more luck based than it needed.

poppy-entertainment 2023-05-04 10:36

there is a really good base for development, in a post jam version i wolud like to see also some characters. The game as it is is nice and fun

studiocherno 2023-05-08 04:33

Hey @movealonghome and @frnknstn

Great game you guys put together! I would have loved to hear some audio as I think it would have really sold the mood! I like the loading mechanic but it did take me a while to actually understand what I was meant to do, as I was trying to put things in the centre and that wouldn't work..

Over all great game and I would love to see the continuation of this!
