The art is amazing! Well done :)

duncant 2023-05-02 19:55

Nicely done. I didn't quite understand some of the clickable areas for going to the different rooms, they seemed to be in random locations and I was just searching around for a purple square. Maybe having the name of what I'm hovering over show next to the pointer would help? Also I got to the bit where you open the door and there is a creepy box and I didn't seem to be able to do anything from there. I tried clicking everywhere but no luck.

Solid effort though, good work.

cute game, with suitable audio and graphics, idea is good as well!

bmanstudio 2023-05-02 20:00

Cool art style, but I didn't quite understood what I should do, where to click and what is the goal of the game. I think a little more work on "delivering" what the player should do and it will be much more playable! GL guys!

khaokg 2023-05-02 20:01

I really liked the art in this, very well done; I also liked the concept and mood/ambience that's portrayed by the audio. I did have some issues with context clues scrolling really fast so I couldn't read them, and I couldn't get past the part of delivering it to your neighbor though. One thing I noticed was the interact sound was heavily panned to the right ear though! Well done in our short time overall!

There's something weird about the hitboxes for clickables- they line up perfectly in the itch.io link, but on the ludum dare site the images and the places you have to click to trigger them are off from each other, and it made the game a bit difficult to click through. I enjoyed the story, though.

louiejams 2023-05-02 20:03

Really quite enjoying the slow pace and soft artstyle! Got the package and went to all of the doors. This seemed to be the only one that lit up "pink", other than mine and the exit. But it wouldnt let me interact with it sadly!door3.PNG

@space-games thank you!!

aghoulprince 2023-05-02 20:15

@duncant yea the games scale is whack for this site so I think that's why the clickable areas seem off and you got stuck, sorry for that but thanks for playing!

aghoulprince 2023-05-02 20:17

@bmanstudio haha thank you :D

aghoulprince 2023-05-02 20:20

@khaokg yea the text scrolls wayyyy too fast, thank you on the sound comment too! we didn't really put that much thoughht on them and in the end the sounds are still our 'placeholder' sounds

aghoulprince 2023-05-02 20:23

@zerovirus thanks for the comment! yea the itchio ver is the way to go and I added a that to the description uwu

aghoulprince 2023-05-02 20:24

@louiejams haha that 'pink' door was a placeholder for texts that I was gonna put on every door but ran out of time :'D thank you!!!

hmrpf 2023-05-02 22:15

Awesome art style. I struggled a bit with where to click and what it will do. It sometimes felt like random so +1 for the idea of knowing what you are currently hovering like DuncanT suggested ! Solid entry for the jam ! Great work

nature-pixels 2023-05-07 00:35

Nice game!

aghoulprince 2023-05-08 02:53

@hmrpf thank you and yea that's a great idea, when updating this we'll definitely add that uwu

@nature-pixels thank you so much!!

don-fouts 2023-05-17 23:19

Nice entry! As already mentioned in previous comments I had some issues with figuring out what was clickable as the areas seemed off. I noticed using the fullscreen button seemed to make this worse. Overall I think the illustrations in this are great and the audio gives an unnerving undertone.

Love the graphics

ava-skoog 2023-05-18 18:41

Hyvä peli! The points where you click don't scale with the graphics on a high DPI screen (another comment on the itch page says as much) but luckily zooming the browser out to 50% did the trick. After that I was finally able to find the key and move on from there. I guess in the end there isn't that much substance there but the atmosphere and sound design are really great and help build a scary mood. Who knows what happened at the end there? 😨 Thought it was a pretty good use of the theme, involves a package like a lot of the entries, but in a way I hadn't seen before. Pretty cool, could be even cooler with a little bit more to solve and do! c:

aghoulprince 2023-05-18 19:46

@don-fouts thank you for playing!!

@ava-skoog thank you so much, means a lot to hear that the atmosphere was nice and creepy cause as you said there isn't that much to do uwu

kanity 2023-05-18 20:53

I really liked the art, the lines are simple, but it looks good and palette is well chose, it creates a nice atmosphere. The way to show active zones seems pretty creative to me, but has created some trouble for me while exploring - for example, I had to pixel hunt for a magenta square to leave the bathroom. I think overall active areas could be adjusted a bit. Sometimes the colour would get confused and show me magenta all over the place, even though it doesn't activate transition to another room.

Despite the difficulties with pixel hunting for areas, I managed to finish the game. I really liked the scary atmosphere, since I enjoy horror genre a lot, and was getting pleasantly scared in the Virtanen's flat, but when the scary element got to its' peak, the game ended abruptly, and I felt a little underwhelmed. I assume you either wanted to leave everything ambiguous or didn't have time to add a more definitive ending. I understand why the screen would go black when you are attacked(?) but it is very unclear as to what happened, and opening the package also didn't give me much in terms of clues, it seemed either empty or just filled with some dirt(?), either way after I clicked on it again my character just left it without saying anything.

So, I liked the atmosphere and the mood of the game, however I would love to have more hints on the story with Virtanen, and I already mentioned active areas. Overall, I enjoyed the game and hope to see a more full version ^^

aghoulprince 2023-05-19 04:16

@kanity we're definitely working on making this to a much more full game with a better story and puzzles at the end I was suppose to make another screen where the mystery packege is on another aprtment's door step to make a bit more clearer story BUT I totally forgot about it xD thank you again so much for the comment!!
