Really simple, really short. But I like the idea of using emojis. And you grouped them by theme, so that's fun.
"level design" could have been better, though. With more difficult moments at the end.
I would have thrown some stars and ratings to you if I knew where the button is ! I am not very accustomed to Ludum Dare interface and menus.

Looks pretty good! The emoji idea was pretty innovative. It ended too fast, but that's to be expected, I guess. :D

Cool concept! The emojis work great for the game - I like how each line of emojis is related to the object you control.
A very small quality of life thing - I played in my browser using the arrow keys - I would have liked the 'next level/try again button' to be triggered using space bar/etc. rather that having to click on it.
That aside, I enjoyed the game, and I can see especially how it would be great on mobile!
I found this game real enjoyable and it even surprised me several times with how interesting it got. I liked trying to remember which way to go.
Some feedback for the future: 1. Trying to beat the time to get a high score on each level could be a new mechanic 2. Also picking up optional bonus coins in difficult spots could be a new mechanic for advanced players 3. @ividusk I had the same thought about the space bar or enter key would have been great for the next level / try again buttons.
Thanks for making this and good luck in the compo!
P.S. I really like your blog (bookmarked it) and the [code can bring us together](https://happycoding.io/blog/code-can-bring-us-together) post is as relevant now as it was 4 years ago.
@recher Thank you! I don't really participate for the ratings, but if you want some help, you should see some stars right below the game that you can click. Sometimes the site can be a little buggy, but that's part of the fun of Ludum Dare!
@fabdynamic oh wow thank you so much, that's awesome to hear. And thanks for the feedback!
Needs achievements and expensive cosmetic DLC, otherwise good commuter game.
I liked it simple and fun :v:
A very unique and challenging concept for a game. The entry as-is is pretty simple and short, but I see tons of potential in this idea.
@cryptomnesic Great idea! The post-compo version will have DLC for different emoji packs, and I'll be rich! 🤑

Clever way to get around the rule that require you to draw all assets yourself, but I would still consider it cheating ;)
@fractal That's fair. I actually went back and forth trying to decide whether it was cheating. I decided that it was okay because I never treat the emojis as images, only as text. That means it's up to your operating system and browser to display the emojis, exactly like if I was using any other text character.
Not sure if that changes your opinion at all, but that's how I justified it in my brain. 😺
It was a bit short and I wish there were more or procedurally generated levels but honestly...that was awesome. Very straightforward, no frills, the right level of difficulty ramp. Nice!
Really nice game! I liked the core game loop, and the way just five simple levels managed to create interesting gameplay. Even though they were essentially the same levels repeating, I managed to find a better way to finish the last one on the faster setting. The explosion animation was a bit weird, but other than that, great entry!

The concept is super sweet and the Emoji gimmick is cute. the whole game is perfectly well executed, honestly I even take it as inspiration for "Do the minimum required to make it a GOOD GAME", that's what this is! Fun, short, interesting, challenging, great!
