LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

ASTERION by conk 2018-12-03T23:52:40Z

Great work, very polished. Really liked the graphics and audio.

bouncy arts by wowa 2018-12-03T23:46:20Z

Very well done! I was very impressed with the gameplay, and really enjoyed it.

ADV-MAN by Matthew McClure 2018-12-04T01:07:31Z

@hempuli Thanks for the comment! The monsters do have different AIs. The zombie walks randomly, the shadow follows the path you take, and the mummy tries to take the shortest path to you. I will keep the difficulty in mind, it is hard for me to get a grasp of how hard the game should be after testing/practicing it for two days straight.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Hand of Death by josefnpat 2019-04-30T22:02:33Z

Really cool game! I liked the style of the 2d characters in a 3d world.

I found a bug where you can go out the door to the left of the room with all the credits portraits. You fall out of the map and the game crashes.

SubMoney by hbocao 2019-04-30T17:24:50Z

I liked the game even though I was really terrible at it. It seemed like the timing had to be perfect, I wish that there was a system like other rhythm games where your timing can be a bit off, but better timing is worth more points.

PS: The web version crashed as soon as I played the first note, but the standalone version worked fine.

Dice Of Life by masterkrepta 2019-04-30T21:23:53Z

Cool game! I like these type of strategy games where you are constantly trying to balance different stats.

Highway To Hell by Dev_For_Pizza 2019-04-30T17:00:27Z

Cool concept, but it could use a bit more explanation of the mechanics in game. It was a bit hard to tell what was going on at times, and I had no idea how much health the enemy had left so it was a bit of a surprise whenever it died and the screen faded out. I thought that meant that I died.

Rising Dawn - First Blood: It's Brunchtime by AfroAnt 2019-04-30T21:07:35Z

I liked that I didn't have to read a wall of words to figure out what to do. Most games (mine included) go that route, so good job on that!

Coin Clicker! by Cornflowerblue 2019-04-30T21:16:54Z

Cool game!

(I would write a longer comment but my fingers are tired.)

Transaction Packed by Matthew McClure 2019-04-30T18:10:51Z

Thanks everyone for the feedback!

@nico-the-pro Which menu buttons were empty? Was it just the title screen or also the shop? That is a good point about the lack of prompt telling you to go to the shop, this is my 7th LD and every time I somehow forget to make any tutorial/help screen until the last 10 minutes before turning it in.

Transaction Packed by Matthew McClure 2019-04-30T18:49:47Z

@mario-marinelli That is intentional. You have limited 'moves' in each direction (shown in bottom left corner) and can get more my hitting ESC and going to the store.

I needed to make it clearer in game but I ran out of time.

Transaction Packed by Matthew McClure 2019-04-30T21:43:49Z

@gentel Thanks for the suggestions! I was originally planning on adding some sort of mechanic to force you to keep completing levels (like the ghost from Spelunky if you've played that), but I ran out of time.

I definitely agree on some of the arrows needing improvement. I thought about removing those two but decided to keep them because having them in the loot pool makes the good arrows more rare.

Greenback by Finn Truman 2019-04-30T21:02:21Z

Pretty cool game! The graphics and story were great, and good idea on the boss rush mode.

300 Hearts for Escape by invader 2019-04-30T21:51:35Z

Great job! Once I got a feel for the average prices, I could usually make a good profit.

Something Of Legend by blaster391 2019-04-30T20:54:52Z

Great job on the art! Pretty interesting concept for a game, I liked the blend of rhythm and combat.

Castle Mania by Roitchie 2019-04-30T19:14:16Z

I liked the idea and the character art was great! If you had more time to work on it, I think it could be a pretty good game.

Lifelight by Kromzem 2019-04-30T19:34:45Z

I really liked the overall look of the game. The lighting and graphics were really cool!

My Little Planet by Maxime Hanot 2019-04-30T19:04:39Z

Really cool game, my only issue is the mouse would leave the game window while I was trying to aim (probably only an issue if you have multiple monitors). I liked it a lot overall, it gets chaotic (in a good way) seeing all the bullets flying around ahead of you.

Necroxeon by Lyrcaxis 2019-04-30T17:55:40Z

Overall I really liked the game! The plant roots spell seemed a bit too strong, I could just alternate between that and Life Drain and I only died when there were enough archers hitting me with arrows to push me across the room anytime I tried to heal.

S.A.S.S. by mcovert 2019-04-30T17:11:11Z

Cool game! I loved the artstyle/UI, and the item desctiptions were funny. The only thing I would suggest would be the option to adjust mouse sensitivity/turn speed, because I had some trouble steering.

Regal Pain by PolyHatSteve 2019-04-30T21:14:05Z

Cool game! I was a very popular leader for my 1 year reign. I liked the strategy of figuring out when it was worth it to sacrifice some health, or when I should just stay home and lose fame.

Save others Save you by Wolfsblut 2019-04-30T16:47:00Z

I liked the concept, and I could see some good puzzles being made with leaving your buddies on buttons and stuff. I was a bit confused at first but I randomly pushed keys until the orange guys stopped following me, so I would recommend some sort of help or controls screen.

The Grim Tower by Drunk Wizard 2019-04-30T18:01:42Z

Really cool game! I am amazed by how polished this is for a jam game. The unit pathfinding was great, my troops always went for the targets I wanted them to.

Forgotten Keep by burst 2019-04-30T21:31:10Z

Really cool! The graphics and feel of the game are great.

One thing I would change is to somehow make it so you can't keep farming life off of one enemy spawnpoint. I sat at the first respawn point, killed a bunch of frogs, and then had enough life to casually walk to the end without killing or dodging any enemies.

Death to all Slimes by markusmo3 2019-04-30T19:23:49Z

Cool game, especially since it's your first jam! The player character was really cool, I loved the smoke effect. Apparently I should learn unity particles!

Pay Blood by Rodrigo Gutierrez 2019-04-30T17:03:48Z

I don't know if it is just a bug on my end, but I couldn't do anything once it launched.

Pay Blood by Rodrigo Gutierrez 2019-04-30T18:04:36Z

@surreali Turns out I am dumb and missed the big 'start' button in the corner. The game works great and I should get some more sleep lol.

Saving Robo.io by Nicoli 2019-04-30T17:16:43Z

@nicoli Letting you know that it worked for me.

I liked the game, it is a cool concept and fits the theme well that you give your 'life' to the other robots.

Ten Minutes to Kill the Wizard by nerdbaron 2019-04-30T19:28:36Z

Neat idea where items have both a gold and time cost. My first game, I ran straight to the wizard without killing anything and died immediately.
