Love love LOVED this! The mechanics are incredible. It was a blast to figure out some of these levels. There is nothing more satisfying than a double jump.

I really enjoyed that! I couldn't get all the plants but I think if I spend some more time playing it I would get that. Really really enjoyable.

Very cool game! I loved the mechanics. And I am a completionist so I spent a lot longer than I should have trying to get the cacti!

chaoseiro 2020-10-06 23:46

Would love some kind of checkpoint, but great game overall! Good job!

I really enjoyed this game's art style, nice and simple but effective! Also the signs were a good addition to provide information. At first the ghost was really confusing but I figured it out. :) I honestly can't think of anything I would improve accept for the audio, the jump sound was kind of loud and annoying.

charming music and simple elegant graphics. classic little time clone puzzle platformer. had a good time with this one.

Very cool take on the theme! The puzzles are creative and fun to figure out and I love the pixel art!

Really fun game that introduces you to the mechanics in a great way! Well done!!

cool game, im surprised by how much i enjoyed playing this game tho after playing the last level i can tell this game isent made to work well with long levels

roberto-nascimento-almada 2020-10-07 04:25

Feel like the game needed some kind of checkpoint, not for position at least. Couldn't get everything and some improvement in the audio is needed. The puzzle were quite fun and i didin't really used the down arrow as much on the ghost as i thought i would need

Thanks for playing everyone!

@roberto-nascimento-almada @lees-pac @chaoseiro People told me that that quite a few times by now - in my head I expected it to be a surprising little thing for the final stage being a vertical scroller and while throwing it together near the end of the jam it totally made sense to make it "a little" more hard. For me it was "yeah a three-level-ghost should do the trick that's AWESOME"... but it turned out to be kinda stupid, especially with the player not being able to see the whole stage and therefore not being able to plan his or her movement. I'll definitely add checkpoints to the post-jam-version and maybe even shorten the stage a little (and/or introduce a few stages that are half as long before that one in order to introduce the player to the idea). Thanks for playing and especially thanks for leaving quality feedback, much appreciated!

@funemaker Yeah, sound was (literally) a last minute addition and I'm unsatisfied with it myself - I spent too much time drawing and fixing bugs I somehow managed to put in like an hour before the deadline and... I don't know, it just felt wrong to ship a silent game, so I fired up bfxr and added the first halfway passable sound effects it generated without much mixing or anything. I'll fix that in the post-jam-versions. Thanks for thr feedback, mate! :)

A very solid game! Everything worked nicely and the controls felt very good!

Very nice, charming entry - reminds me a lot of *The Company of Myself* if that were a metroidvania. I would say that the mechanic of piggybacking yourself to get a boost to higher places works a lot better than it does in that game, although in The Company of Myself, you were able to get past larger gaps by creating many clones of yourself.

While it seems as though the clone resets its movements based on most recent moves, I also would have appreciated a true reset button to start clean from the current stage, particularly for the ones that don't have any hazards you can hit and run yourself into. Longer, taller levels could use a map of sorts so that a player can plan out their moves more efficiently instead of having to guess and check.

That aside, I think the game itself plays fine - I like the setup and controls were smooth and fast paced. The music complemented the pixel art and character style well, although I think that the composition of the track was a little too sad for the bright blue setting? But I guess it's sad because you lost all your pets, haha. The jump sound effect is on the loud side - I would definitely compress or lower its volume next time.

This idea was pretty cool and the overall execution of the game is good. Nice job.

I found it a bit annoying to not be able to backtrack as I sometimes exited by mistake and then could not get all the thing without resetting the game. That being the controls were solid, it was fun. I beat the game :D

Probably the most novel interpretation of the theme I've seen in the jam so far. I'll echo the criticism that organising the time loops is tricky but only in contrast to how perfect the normal platforming inputs feel. Great job!

Had a lot of fun playing this! Would have loved to be able to go back to earlier levels or a level select page

I loved the charm this game brought, by the end of it I was attached to this little guy. The game's style is simple but effective, as with the hat mechanic. It offers optional increased difficult that doesnt introduce it too rapidly. A fantastic closed experience, with more polish I could see this being a good game!

Very nice game, really amazing. I'm discovering a lot of gems in these final LD days and one it's right here.

Fun simple gameplay, nice simple graphics, challenge levels but not to spoil the fun.

I managed to reach 4 or 5 level, do intend to return and try to finish.

Really hope you plan to take it to a game portal on a complete project.

A very polished entry, congrats! The self-boosting mechanic is really cool. It would be a nice UX improvement (maybe as an easy difficulty level) if your "ghost" run was not reset by dying, only by explicitly using the magic hat. Regardless, I had a lot of fun, and didn't encounter any issues whatsoever, hat(s) off to you!
