Would love to try out this game, but it's sadly not playable with HTML5!
Although it was very short (unless I'm missing something), you really established mood well through the creepy music, lighting and graphics.
This was a great little experience! Really liked the writing and the story. The graphics - especially the lighting - were beautiful. The music was really fitting. Would have loved it to be a bit longer, but it's also funny to think that guy is stuck in that tiny loop for eternity :D
Well done!
@zoranster I think I got it working now, if you wanna check it out :)
Just as you were pulling me in it ended. Super short but what is there is nice. Music goes very well with it, good atmosphere, kind of reminds me of "The Way". Would've liked to see how you would've handled the puzzles. Good job for getting this up there even though you lost so much time
Very nice! Mood was set from the beginning and the music alone made it worth playing. I want to continue the story!
Sets the mood very well. Would definitely have been interesting to see how you would make a game out of it.
Hi all right, as you explain to everyone I come back with my individual observations, I liked your game, the ambience was very good, and the music matched very well, my recommendations for improving your project 1- the player cannot touch the lower walls , because it is hidden, increase their collision box to a maximum of half of the capped game, 2 - the dialog box and the fonts must be in pixelart, 3- you must also inform the action button, 4- many times when pressing the action button not for the dialogue, there is a delay in that, I understand your idea is to be congratulated, I hope I helped, a big hug.
@etrealjunior
1- I really don't understand what you mean, the player cannot touch the lower walls? The perspective in the game isn't really top down, its at an angle. That's why you see a side of the player. Naturally, when the player walks next to walls, the walls would obscure them.
Do you think it's a bad thing that the player can be "invisible" (which I can agree with) or do you think that the collision should happen earlier, so the feet can't move past the top of the wall? Sorry but I'm only trying to understand...
Also, what does "increase their collision box to a maxiumum of half of the capped game" mean?
2-
Yeah I would do that if I hade the time. 3-
What do you mean, inform action button? I already have a big spacebar in the middle of the scene when you first encounter an interactable object if that's what you're getting at...
4-
I don't understand what you're saying.
The player cannot be completely covered by the bottom wall, sorry I am using google translator
the atmosphere is rly cool i liked your game, its somewhat similar to mine a little lol, good entry
Nice and interesting story that fits the theme. I liked it
The atmosphere here is very nice. The music is very well done too and fits the theme of waking up in a world apparnetly devoid of all human live. Granted there isn't much to do but as an intro to a bigger game it would be quite intriguing. Good job. Keep it up.
the music fits the game verywell. well done
Cool game! The overall mood is really nice. One way to take this further could be to let the player actually repeat the level multiple times, but make little changes to the surroundings and the narration each time they loop to gradually bring out some sort of story. Great job making this in such a short time frame, and I hope to see your future games!
interesting story....good game overall
I really liked the music, it sounds amazing!)
Why are you so harsh with yourself? 🤔 I had fun playing this short game and really enjoyed the music and the atmosphere. Sometimes games don't need fancy mechanics and a great atmosphere is enough to keep players exploring the world and its story.
@chickenchaser
Yes, that is very true, and I'm not disappointed in what I made. I just made the observation that this time- it's not really an actual *game*, but rather a visual novel. I still learned a lot about that aspect of game development!
All my previous games have been arcade-like with no story or polish- this one went in the complete opposite direction and that was really fun too! :)
Nice atmosphere! I would have added a button for skipping text, and I thought that the character moved too slow until I knew about the game duration ;-P Good job!
You shoulda rated more games.. And you'd get more ratings in return.
It won't let me move around in either the web or the windows version, and I know the game is in focus since it lets me adjust the audio slider. I've tried it about 4 times now, 2 for each. Am I supposed to press something in the beginning before I can move? If I'm doing something wrong let me know and I'll come back to this, based on this comment my keyboard seems to be doing okay :P. The mood seems good from what I have seen and heard, it really is all about the audio.
I love the spooky atmosphere of this game! The text reads a bit slow for me, so I would like an option to speed it up. The pixel art is awesome. If I were you, I wouldn’t bash you game saying “it’s not fun” in the description; you can say you wanted to add puzzles, but leave it up to the players to decide if they like the game or not. You might be surprised by the feedback you get!
I can certainly relate to not being able to include everything you wanted. This was a cool experience. Sure it's short, but that's fine for a jam game! The mood was spot-on, and the graphics and sound were good too. Overall, good job!
@spawncampgames
See, the problem is that I have rated more than 20 games, and made extensive comments on almost every one, but because many of them opted out of categories I don't get the full credits for rating them.
Personally, I feel like it would be more fair if you got 1 "ratings given" if you rate a game in every available category, and rating a game in half of it's categories could yield 0,5 points.
It would be more equal than the current flat 0,25 points per rating.
@squeed-fingars
Ah, I think the problem might be that you haven't clicked away from the dialogue box. That was a mistake on my part, I put a small spacebar icon next to the text but at the same time a large WASD/Arrows-icon in the middle of the screen.
You have to press space before you can move, hope it works!
@invixel Ah, I got it now. I noticed the space symbol down there but I honestly wasn't sure what it was, haha. I'm not used to seeing a space symbol, I suppose I don't play enough games on my laptop. Thanks for the help. Anyways, I thought the game looked very nice, especially considering the time constraints you mentioned. You are right about it being a visual novel more than anything else, but I'd still take this type of gameplay over most visual novels out there, from what I see they are usually very shallow in terms of gameplay, at least in this you can walk around and explore some. Of course some additional gameplay elements would be nice, and another ending would help give it some additional weight, but oh well. Just to throw the thought out there, although stylistically different I think your entry is similar to mine in terms of mood, this would especially be the case if you got puzzles up and running, I just thought it was neat to see. This really isn't a bad entry, it feels good to take a break from arcade-like games after a while. I was surprised when I saw "THE END" at the end, I just assumed it would restart the game, good on you for adding a definitive ending, in many entries there isn't a very good feeling of finality upon completion.
I entered the game, and I knew what will happen in the game. Even though the writing of the story is very good. I liked the graphic, which looks great. The music fits very well with the theme of what's happening in the game. The controls were very comfortable. I know that you had a very limited time for the jam, and that sucks :(
To sum up, I enjoyed the game, and it'd be interesting to have puzzles in that game.
Good luck!

Despite how little time you had to put this together, you were able to put out a surprising amount of content! The art, music, and story all come together to create a very unique mood. Well done!
