I get a "There doesn't appear to be anything here..." when i click your link

unhandyred 2020-10-05 20:03

@aterlamia Sorry, check back in a little bit. We're just putting on the finishing touches:)

trypants 2020-10-06 03:52

Sound was loud had to mute. Good job making a tower defense in such a short amount of time. Great entry!

quoclon 2020-10-06 03:55

Solid entry into the Tower Defense genre. I enjoyed the art. I found the aiming of the crossbows a little inaccurate, but overall got the job done.

pete-valeo 2020-10-06 03:58

Nice work! The mechanics are straightforward to figure out and the pace of the waves is solid.

The variety of items you can deploy is good too. That sound effect for the Tower o' Slime though... it's a little grating.

The subtle parallax when moving the mouse is a nice touch - feels good just to move around the board!

ukulelefury 2020-10-06 03:58

Woohoo, a tower defense! Pretty fun! Nice art, nice audio. I did not pick up on the mechanic for hitting enter to set towers to loop on my first play through though, and that makes a difference! Feels a little slow to start.

snowinn 2020-10-06 04:02

Nice twist on the Tower Defense genre! The music as well really helps set the mood and I enjoyed the pixel art graphics. The descriptions for the towers are the best part though 😂

dxk2294 2020-10-06 04:06

Cool tower defense game! Echoing early feedback, I think the crossbows had some suspect aim. Fun though

iron-leonem 2020-10-06 04:06

Interesting concept, but I felt losing the automation of turrets didn't add to the experience, just made it a little harder. Still, this is an impressive feat in a weekend, and you delivered on the theme well.

dyguests 2020-10-06 04:29

It's a bit difficult to control the attack, but the tower defense game is really great.

mikadoh 2020-10-06 08:29

I really liked this game, tower defense games are always fun. The graphics and SFX were nice and the description is just the extra touch I love to see :D

humanisred 2020-10-06 08:45

Pretty nice! I really like the idea of tower defense genre! Will be thankful if you play our game too :)

keithdae 2020-10-06 17:04

Very nice concept, really loved the music and art, great job! I survived all the way to wave 21 where no monsters spawned so I guess I won

scsc 2020-10-06 18:56

Thanks everyone for your feedback! We've updated the HTML5 version with some last minute improvements, addressing issues of @keithdae's wave 21 (sadly, this wasn't the loop where we intended for you to get stuck in), @trypants's sound settings, and @dyguests/@iron-leonem/@dxk2294/@ukulelefury/@quoclon's tower looping control issues, or the lack of hint about being able to press the enter key. Nevertheless, we hope you all had fun! :)

trypants 2020-10-06 19:01

I've updated my rating. Nice work!

nimerya 2020-10-06 23:30

Really nice game ^^, i feel i could play it for a long moment. Maybe add a visualisation of the tower cap because i didn't understand why my tower keeps destroying xD

Expect that, it's really well made gg.

mrhthepie 2020-10-07 00:14

Neat concept. I didn't think that it was quite used to it's full potential though - just set up my towers to fire in one direction along straight lines and that seemed most effective compared to any other strategy.

The recording UI could be a bit clearer and being able to rerecord would be nice. Also it would be nice if the game was faster paced or had a speedup button.

fryer 2020-10-07 01:56

Wave 69 with 13 zappers, felt like a good point to stop. :joy: bzzzt.png

I realised after a few minutes that my towers could break eachother. Some health/damage indicator on them could probably make that clear, as I was very confused at first why I had fewer towers than I had placed.

The slime and fire towers weren't very useful, but I guess tower defense games take a while to balance properly, so I won't expect that much from a jam game. I'm not sure the zappers were really that useful either, but they're cool enough to use anyway.

The best strategy seemed to be just placing a bunch of towers facing straight paths and making them shoot only on that path. With that in mind, the actual gameplay wasn't that much more different than a regular tower defence game, except towers can now only shoot in one direction. Just recording actions and having them loop didn't seem to work reliably enough to do anything fancy, so maybe something more needs to happen to make those loops consistently have the same effect on each wave, but I'm not sure what that would be.

@fryer I almost stopped there but I had to push onwards lol...

Fun game. I feel like the turrets could be more evenly balanced out. Really liked the art style and music. Kudoes for making this in 3 days!

aterlamia 2020-10-07 14:11

Cool i like how you can record how to fire your towers it ads a new dimension to the tower defense game i think. Also good background music

kamuniaft 2020-10-11 12:59

Loved the tower loops mechanic! Feels like it has strong potential. Would be nice to be able to reset tower loops. Awesome work!

croze 2020-10-24 19:29

Wish I could reset the towers, with these mechanics I think it would have made more sense to just set the direction it fires right when you place it, but maybe I'm not realizing a mechanic. This also seems pretty meta-dependent, either I'm not creative at tower defenses or there aren't a lot of different ways to play this one. My towers seemed to shoot slower when I'd click twice, if I spam clicked and then finished recording they'd fire much quicker, found myself restarting multiple times because I could have set it up better had I known X or Y thing, but then once I realized how all the towers worked it was a piece of cake. I really like where this is going, just needs some balance!
