Neat game. Art and music are nice. The death mechanic felt abrupt and also unclear (when do I even die?)

The audio and fx are cool. Nice game dude :)
Very nice looking game and it feels like you added a lot of polish to the visuals(like the camera shake and lighting). The game play is a bit to hard for me and I kept dying a bit to fast and to much, but I like the core concept of gathering you minions and throwing then at your foes, it really reinforces that you as a charter have nothing. Fun game but a bit to hard for me :)
like the style of the characters. nice colors. nice job guys.
@mad-brokli @glowt @feingehacktes @ssstormy Thank you so much for your kind words. We really appreciate it.
@ssstormy You die when a projectile hits you, or when you touch a monster. None of us thought about smoothing scene transitions, we were all focused on other things it slipped our minds. That's why all the scene changes are so abrupt.
Really dug the visuals but unfortunately wasn't a fan of the gameplay :( The character was difficult to control and enemies mobbing you on sight made the 1 hit kill deaths feel sudden and unfair. I'd recommend slowing everything down a bit and adding an "aha! I spotted you" moment to enemies before they give chase to allow the player a bit of grace time to actually spot them and start running away :) Projectiles were way too fast too, I could almost never outrun them, and picking up minions didn't help if they were too close.
All that said I did have fun, and even though I died a lot and blamed the game I did keep playing just to try and collect the little teddy bears. So damn cute! :D
i like the art and the gameplay
sometimes i feel the projectiles are op xd or i just suck at it
So, I finally managed to survive for more than 3 seconds and found the first portal. :D When I exited I only had 2 minions with me but they did nothing when I wanted them to attack? This was super hard but it has pretty graphics and a moody atmosphere. Good game and well done!
Pretty cool one. Maybe a progression on the difficulty would make it even better
The idea is just amazing, goes smoothly with the theme, even though the death felt a bit too sudden and abrupt, but its a fun mechanics as it literally makes you sacrifice your minions who chose to protect you and follow you! EVIL!!!!!!!! Congrats on the submission.
@almax @huntrox @mashas @blitzcloud @noobdev Thank you so much for the feedback! I plan on doing a post-jam update, which will hopefully balance out the game.
@henanboy I would love to play this game with more content! Good luck with your game.
Great art and music, and I really liked the challenge level, even though it's completely unfair.
Lots of fun, and I finally got the hang of it after dying about 10 - 20 times :) One thing I want to mention is that after the first portal, I ran into what seems like a bug in the random map generation. Enemies spawned in what looks like walls west of the start. After searching around, there was no way to progress so I tried to go into the wall and ended up getting stuck in the wall in this position (see screenshot). Once I went into the wall, I couldn't get back out.millions-of-minions-stuck.png
@comicsans Haha, Thanks! We will post an post-jam version which will balance out the game.
@kapitstick I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've noticed that bug too. It will be fixed in the post-jam update.
@noobdev Thank you. I'm hoping to add a boss-of-sorts to each dungeon.
Thank you for joining the stream! Even though I was not that good at the game it was fun to try to learn the mechanics and get better. And I had a couple of runs that went pretty well (or at least better). I liked the enemy design a lot! Well done
@simon-rahnasto Thank you!
The browser-version didn't work but the OSX-version was fine!
The game is kinda difficult.I couldn't get an ending :( But it was a good game anyway. I liked that you can use your minions as a shield. Hope you will do a post-mortem version.
the art and music are great and i like the idea of defend your self with hord of minion but i had so many of them that slow my computer and i died ;) anyway this fit the theme perfectly and i had fun
Love the hoard idea, a little more feedback on death and attacks would be nice also
the audio and art are great. but the speed of player is too fast. the game is a little hard for me. but overall nice entry!
Good lord those enemies gave me jump-scares! VERY interesting mechanic, the minions multiplying with enemy projectiles. They way they moved around when the player moves through them was...really satisfying for some reason xD
But man. Game is hard. I keep dying too easily!
Great game with a good gameplay but after the first portal I had so much minions that they began to push me and in the end that killed me. The game also started to slow down at that moment but maybe it's bacause I play on the browser version. But very good game overall.
Liked the art and music. The monster sounds were terrifying  ! Maybe you could add more feedback for which level you are on. Good job  !
Very funny game! I like the mouth-shaped enemy. Fun simple action with interesting twist on how you attack enemies. I would like to have more health though, it seems that I am dying from a first hit.
@nikita-demidov @egos @charlietu @lunardust @pranjalbisht @aderix @coatline
Thank you for playing! I'm glade you enjoyed it :D
We will be releasing a post-jam update that will balance and optimize the game, making it run a lot smoother. It will also fix a lot of bugs, and, there's the possibility of a boss being added.
@nikolay-zapolnov Thank you! Currently you only have one life. We will be releasing a post-jam update which will have a few changes.
You always make hard games and I feel bad for not finishing them. It is just too hardcore for me. The art is great, music and sound effects are great too. I would change the lighting so I can at least see the enemies. I entered the room and die immediately, I didn't see the monsters spawning. => Only bad thing is the difficulty and maybe balancing, both hard to achieve in a jam. Nevertheless, great job team
Way too hard for me ^^" It seemed the minions did'nt always react and everything is a bit too fast. Slow it down, add some more interactions for the minions and pathfinding (the enemies are running into walls) and this could make a lot of fun. Thumbs up for the visuals and creepy sounds =)
Wow, with this game I had my metaphorical ass handed right back to me. It was pretty hard indeed, the death was sudden and brutal, and sometimes I had to compensate for that with smart play around corners, trapping the enemy in the level geometry.
Brutal, hardcore, unforgiving yet deliciously evil!
@yahub Thanks for playing! Yes, we do seem to have a knack for making hard games. The is a lot of balancing done in the post-jam update.
@kirroyal I don't think any of us know how to use path finding, so we didn't add it for the jam. I might add it to the post-jam update though :D
@shess Thank you! I'm glade you like it!
I love the mood and the artstyle good job on that. I also quite like the general gameplay Idea, but this part needs a lot of polish 1. Minions Bosses and even the character sometimes glitch through walls etc. 2. It gets super laggy with many minions (I guess write one script to controll all minions and not a script for each minion in unity could help here). 3. The RNG in this game is terrible. Sometimes there is no reachable portal room. (once I only had the three neighbouring rooms with none of them having furtner connections). Sometimes every neighbouring room spamms enemies while you have not a single minion. Sometimes you get like 10 minions in the beginning and the enemies are not even a challange at all.
You really have to rewrite that random generation algorithm. Place only easy rooms right next to the player where he can find like 1-2 minions and 0-1 enemies. an make the rooms harder as you get further away from the start. also only generate rooms which have further connections until you have generated the portal room.
This game has a lot of potential and I would like to hear about an update if if you adressed the points I mentioned.
@ausstein Thank you for the feedback. Your points are very valid. The code we did was a really big mess, and caused a lot of lag. I have already gone in and cleaned it up. It runs a lot smoother now. I also added a delay when the monsters spawn, that ways you can run in and grab the minions and get out before the monsters react. I will release the update after the jam.
Right now the random generation is truly random. We have very little control over it. I'll try changing that in the update.
Thanks again for the feedback!
Super hard game XD I feel like hard rooms are being spawned next to the start room, it would be better to spawn only the easiest rooms at the beginning. But I really like the graphics, creepy sounds and atmosphere!
@kaeveris Thank you! Currently, there are no easy rooms. Everything is just random. I plan on fixing this in the post-jam uppdate :D
Good interpretation of the theme, but needs polish.
The physics definitely needs to be improved. There's noticeable clipping when the minions are near walls and sometimes creatures can go through them. It might help to disable collisions between minions and other minions and the player. I even had a minion push me into the enemy it was targeting.
It's also strange how minions often seem to appear out of nowhere. Maybe they're overlapping, so you don't know if you're going to collect one minion or more.
Clicking on the enemies was a bit annoying. The brown one had a smaller hitbox, so it was harder to click. Maybe change it so that clicking somewhere orders one minion to walk towards that spot (for a duration long enough to get there) and then walk back. And each click iterates to the next minion in your ring. Any contact with an enemy makes them fight. (This would also prevent the brown ones from walking through)
Sometimes enemies spawn too close to the player.
@zuf Thanks for playing!
I have fixed most of the problems mentioned. I will try fixing the physics, but I can't promise much improvement since I'm rather new to top down physics.
nice! had tons of fun playing would love to see what you do with it after the jam ends
@space-nomad Thank you for playing! I'm glade you enjoyed it.
Nice atmosphere, great music and sound effects. It was kinda fun but frustrating when enemies spawn almost right on top of you and you die instantly. Also noticed sometimes gaining many new minions from nowhere. Not figured out what was happening there. Clicking on enemies to send minions was tricky at times, also minions get stuck forever if the enemy was behind a wall. Perhaps a mechanic like pikmin or overlord would work better here, sending minions in the general direction rather than being so precise.
@someone Thank you for the feedback! The spawning issue has been fixed, and will be released in the post-jam update.
Cool game! I really like the audio & the visual effects. It also fits the theme nicely. It was a bit hard for me at first, especially because enemy can kill you instantly. But anyway great job! :D
@game-mon Thank you! We're glade you enjoyed it!
The game is fun, but probably you should work on balancing difficulty.
@ryjcio Thanks for playing! We plan on releasing a post-jam update, which will involve some game balances.
