Just updated it, thanks ^^
Đ¢Nice visual style
Liked the art style!
Nice art style. I liked the mechanics, but I couldn't figure out what was going on with the snakes, and the game reset to the beginning soon after I picked up the skull.
Clean art style, incredibly tight and intuitive controls, just an overall well polished game. Loved it.
@bobotast Probably you're getting killed by the snakes, since all the "powers" have a contra effect and also hurt himself, as our Ego does ^^
Really nice adventure game. I love this game mechanics with the shield that pulls you down :D
Cool game! Overall nice adventure. :)
Too bad in fullscreen is written too small so I have trouble understanding what to do.
Great pixel art and story! Wish there was some music to help set the mood tho. Love the game in general!
@danny88881 Yeah man, it would bu nice, but I'll be more prepared next time! Thanks
Love the color palette and the art style. Good work!
Great Visuals. Good job :)
Great pixel art. I really like the setting you are telling here.
Yeah loving the art style and tone
Great aesthetic!

some objects were a bit ... sticky, not sure if that was intentional
A nice little experience! Died the first time because snakes spawned on top of me and I didn't know what the hell happened, almost thought the game ended there. But yeah, apparently you're supposed to avoid taking all those items with you. Who would've thought? /s Jumping can be a bit weird at times, but otherwise, a perfectly serviceable platformer.
Beside slow/clunky control and lack of audio, the game is very solid. It's fun to look after the narrative and see how advice is an integrated in-game world. Beside first 2 concerns, I can't add much more "critique", good work.
oh,so philosophical game. nice control and moving in water ^^ and art simple but good! I like it!
Really liked the art, solid game, i enjoyed playing it
what a nice Game! It took me way to long to realise that those yellow things came from the crown. I really liked the artstyle too. The one Thing I would love to see changed is the character model. I think a basic animation would improve the Game a bit.
Thank you guys, I really appreciate your feedback!
The game is great! but i would add like a hitting animations for the snakes they just killed me when i was hugging them
And the slopes are kinda glitched ? or maybe u haven't done the slope mechanics welp i hope you add it in later updates after LD45
But the game is awesome anyways!
Thank you @wansou, it's not a glitch, it's just that the items also affect the movement mechanic a bit, I guess you had the crown with you. A bit of work on the game design would show it better.
Nice little game with cool mechanics and art. Good job!
I love the art style, its very retro. The words that popup disappeared a little too fast for me, but other than that this is a solid game! Good Job!
I loved the pixel art! I'm still not entirely sure what the mechanics of the game was, I got some items, which spawned killer snakes and lasers, then I discovered that you could drop the items with "Q" so they wouldn't spawn anymore. Then I got to the final room with the cat and the game ended. Regardless, I liked what I saw, hope to see more of the pixel art in the future!
Thanks @jusw85, it's related to the Soul and Ego. In ancient texts mostly, and spiritual or philosophical modern ones, is said that the Ego is not a feeling, nor is the real you, but a reflect of your desires that are hidden inside your being. On the other hand, your Soul is the actual essence of you and the actual you in a way, and to be truly aware of who you are, you have to be "empty" (the meaning of "empty" in that context is a bit complicated). Well, that what it's about ^^. Hope I could explain a bit.
Seems like an interesting idea, I found it was easiest just to rush the game without any of the pickups, but maybe there should be challenges where you need something like the shield to move forwards. Also it seems a bit odd to me to opt into the graphics category if you're using an asset pack. TBH I am not sure what the rules are for that (since this is my first Ludum Dare) but was mostly curious. Overall I really enjoyed this concept, and would love to see it expanded upon further, nice work!
Thanks, @brokenmirrormedia, I also consider it my first, did it alone, the actual first I didn't know what was ludum dare and only did coding without interacting with the community. About the graphics category, I would opt out if I had understand the rules better, read the info but it said you could use assets and lots of people do use them in many parts of the game, I I didn't use any other assets, whole code from nothing (like the theme), I thought it was about what you have or not in the game and I actually mounted the whole scenario. Anyway, following the whole process of voting and interacting is the best way to understand. I still don't understand about people continuously improving the game after the end of the 72 hours.
Back to the game, the challenge was to fit the concept of soul and ego and the history with the idea of gaining a skill would make you loose in some other, so i got stuck trying to think about this balance and didn't do much of work on the level design to show it in a proper way to the player. Well, thanks again, this ludum dare was a good learning experience.
