Really amazing visuals and the music goes well. The acceleration controls are a cool way of doing this. I would love if there were more/harder enemies and obstacles.

I quite liked the presentation of this game in general and the sound effects in particular. It starts out quite fun -- the ship is responsive and the gun feels nice and powerful -- but unfortunately the game doesn't takes too long to add challenge and doesn't do much to add extra gameplay depth or complexity. Ideally there'd be an extra enemy type or something, but given the quality of the existing ship models, that might be asking too much given the time constraints. I also found it hard to judge the distance to the pickups, which in turn made it hard to line them up to collect them. adding some slight camera motion might have helped, allowing the player can use the parallax to better gauge distances.
You did really great with the BSG feel of the game. The controls were also nice to use and destroying the enemy felt really satisfying. I did have some trouble hitting the pickups with the slightly strange perspective though so it would've been nice if they had a larger area. Also I constantly saw asteroids blinking in and out of existence in the background which was a bit distracting.
The sticking point of this one, for me, was the speed. I'm guessing that you were trying to go for a more realistic feel with the frictionless movement, but it makes the ship feel unwieldy and unsatisfying to control.
@liammasters @squimmy @axelrinaldo Thanks for your feedback! I uploaded a version with some bugfixes. There is indeed another enemy type (heavy raider) and now he is able to spawn (after the asteroid field). I also fixed the bug with the despawning asteroids. Maybe you have another try?
I enjoyed the simple gameplay, it was easy to just play it. The gameplay is a bit slow to start though. The camera angle didn't work great for the controls either. We struggled a bit with that as well, it might have been a bit better to have the camera lined up with the ship or follow it's angle a bit perhaps. Just some thoughts, I did enjoy the core game though.
Love BSG and love the visuals!
I agree, the position of the pickups is sometimes hard to judge, especially at the edges, but I guess that also adds to the challenge, I think I got a decent hang of it after a few hundred kilometers.
Got to 1100 km. Loved shooting some frakking toasters! :robot:
@pavelc Thanks a lot. I also think it's just a matter of practice. Life of a viper pilot is hard I guess. :-D
Fun game! I love sci fi stuff like this. Some suggestions would be that the asteroids feel like they should be destructible (although maybe they are and I'm just bad lol but I never seemed to destroy one.) It's also tricky to tell when a target is in range with the perspective. There were many times I could see the enemy but still couldn't quite hit them. Still had a good time piloting your well designed starship! Well done!
I liked the sounds and models. I found it difficult to tell what I was aiming at though, maybe some sort of laser sight on the ship would help?
Nice visuals! As the others I had a hard time finding my bearings at first but quickly adapted to it. So well done!
The graphics were nice. I had to turn off the sound cuz the music was far too loud, but the game play was fun. It seemed to have all of the necessary mechanics to keep me engaged for some time. good job
I LOVE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA! These Cylons stood no chance against my incredible gaming skills. I really liked shooting the asteroid off and was having a blast... blasting away the enemies. Impressive work for a single individual, next time, some power-ups or different attacks would be cool! <3
Sweet visuals! Really loved the music, gave a great atmosphere - the only real fault I rcould give is feedback on taking damage from lazers but the core gameplay loop is solid and I LOVED the ship designs. Nice work!
I liked the gameplay, the 3D models are pretty nice but I think that the background look a little flat. The audio fits the game well, and I had some fun with it!
Nice game. It's a bit hard to figure out where your bullets are landing at first but it's nice to play, maybe just a bit slow and too repetitive after some time. But it's overall a good entry !
Great atmosphere and mood! The gameplay is a little bit repetitive, but it is nice looking, controls well and very solid!
Thanks for bringing your game by my stream for playtesting! Sorry I wasn't able to get to it when you were around. If you'd like to watch the play and commentary you can view the highlight at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1008723978
Hey matey, thanks for submitting your game to stream! I really enjoyed it, and hope the feedback helped! Here's the vod if ya wanna rewatch;

cool, i wanted to thrust forward a bit..
Great compo entry! I fracked quite a lot of toasters but not sure if there is an end to it. Got to about 1100km. I loved how the viper flying felt, the thruster sounds and the inertial movement after changing direction gave it that true BSG feel, I almost wanted to do a back flip, hehe. Music maybe isn't the best BSG fit, but still very good. Well done. Keep up the good work!
@marcmagus @justcamh Thanks for playing and streaming.
@nikolaj I know ... me too ;-)
@cvetk0 Thanks a lot! No there isn't an end. I didn't manage to implement a boss battle against a basestar in time.
Nice game! I like the graphics and audio. Adding some tilt effect when moving would improve game experience a lot.
PD: I just finish watching the TV series yesterday :laughing:
Hi,
here is my playthrough of your game, I hope you enjoy!

@ausstein Thanks for taking the time to play my game. I appreciate your honest feedback.
It was an interesting game. I liked the movement, the feel of little floaty controlls and the graphics and sound was really good. What I didn't like where the Camera position and movement related to the camera. It was really hard to figure out where to shoot and when to get the powerups becuase of the perspective. That made the game just hard and not really fun.
Also maybe a speedboost could be a feature aswell. So you can skip some kilometers when you achieve to collect some of these.
Overall a nice Game well done
Fun game, interesting perspective choice. Nice art and music along with cool enemy ships create a good atmosphere. The enemy bullets were a bit hard to see, but with no distance/direction indicator dodging was mostly a guessing game anyway. In any case the enemy ships themselves were much bigger menace, since I tended to run out of bullets because I missed a recharge by misjudging its position relative to mine. Maybe some laser sight indicator would have helped. Or maybe I just haven't played it enough to get used to it. Anyway, a solid game, enjoyed playing it.
