Seems like a great game, but I wish that there was a webgl build.

The game is really fun to play, but I feel that the mystery boxes should give better items. I mostly got bad items, and perhaps the spikes should make you bounce a bit higher, since it's really hard to get back onto the platforms once you fall down.
Awesome game! This could be turned into something great.
Awesome! The game is very fun. The controls are challenging without being too difficult. The game is very polished, especially for a jam game. The audio is great. Getting the ultra felt very satisfying.
The sound design is great, but I didn't really understand how to play it.
I like it, but I don't really see how it fits the theme
@deformhead Oh, that's great! Really liked your submission, especially since you made it in 24 hours. The mood is amazing, the art is nice and the audio is great :smile:
Great art, music and graphics. The game was fun to play, but the rope mechanic was difficult to master. There was this one glitch where I got stuck inside the wall, and the level design was a bit weird but apart from that it was a great game.
The text doesn't fit on the screen, so I couldn't play it. The audio was amazing though!
@mab-cat no, the text issue was present even when I played it in full screen. This was all I could see - You've been walking for as long as you can remember. Your body aches, but you are young. You don’t need to rest yet. Your legs, despite the pain, feel as strong as the tree trunks that melt into the dark as you pass. Wait, how long have you been here? Only the top of the next line can be seen. The game seems very polished, the mood, audio design and graphics are great, and I'm sure the other parts are great as well, but I can't rate it until I play the whole game.
The game was amazing, especially the mood - the music captured that really well - I don't really get why some parts of the game keep looping - I got to the part with the clearing and lemon tree at least a few times
@mab-cat I reached ending 3, probably because I killed the tree.
@raivk Thanks for the feedback. What exactly do you mean by the sound saturating? I get what you mean by the sound being too loud - my computer volume is usually at 18-20 / 100, so I thought that the sound worked fine. I was thinking of adding a volume adjustment setting to the main menu, but I didn't have enough time. The game will probably sound much better if you turn the volume down.
@chtimy Thanks for the feedback! I added the floaty jump to make it easier to dodge the enemy bullets. The enemy AI doesn't calculate and aim properly, it just shoots at your position, so I thought I should increase the speed to balance the game. My playtester found it decently difficult, which was what I was going for, and he liked the audio so I didn't reduce the volume.
@raivk Oh, so that's what you mean. Yeah, that was a problem, but I was basing it off other retro games, specifically Super Mario Bros. I tried to make the sounds fit the pixel art theme, but combining that with the loud audio probably wasn't a good choice.
@hilvon Thanks for the feedback! This was my first time making a 2d game, and the first time I'd made pixel art, so I wasn't sure exactly how to do it. I'd noticed the combat strategy you mentioned, but decided to leave it in because the combat would be too difficult otherwise, and I decided to make the difficulty of the game lie in the number of enemies you had to beat.
@mab-cat Thanks for the positive feedback! I intended for the enemies to regain health, but that doesn't happen sometimes (Probably because of sloppy implementation of that feature), though in some cases that would make the game a bit more playable. I didn't reset the level whenever the player died, because that would make it too challenging. The art probably took too long to create (most of day one), and that stopped me from implementing some features that I really wanted to add to the game, such as a boss fight. This was my first game jam, and I am satisfied with the result, though I wished I had noticed the audio issue, since that seems to be the main complaint.
@charq Thanks! You're literally the first person who liked the audio. I probably should have made the movement a bit faster to make it easier to dodge the enemy bullets.
Yeah, I’d noticed the combat strategy you mentioned, but decided to leave it in because the combat would be too difficult otherwise, and I decided to make the difficulty of the game lie in the number of enemies you had to beat.
@tim-sims Thanks! I'd made the music before I started working on the art. I had originally intended the it to be vector art, so I made the music fit that art style. After I made the art, I tried to 'pixelify' the music, but it didn't really work out that well. I made the death pits early on, when I intended platforming to be the main mechanic of the game.
@darqweful Thank you! I think level design is one part I really need to improve on. The levels ended up much bigger than I intended them to be, so I probably should have scaled the player and the camera view up, to make the gap visible.
@vsi thanks!
@ar-borno Thanks a lot!
@gullyngames thanks!
@krapht you can enter full screen
@marc-jones thanks for the feedback! I wanted to add a boss fight and different types of enemies to make it less repetitive, but I didn't have time.
