LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Lost Core of the Underworld by wisedawn 2021-04-27T14:40:16Z

This warms my heart as a D&D player. You put so much passion into this! The writing style is authentic and I love the combat system -- I've never seen that in a Twine game before! I do wish there was sound and visuals but that can easily be added later. Wonderful work! The text speaks for itself!

Cave Runner by Sir. Syko 2021-04-27T13:40:45Z

This is just the kind of addictive game I could see doing really well as a mobile app! The controls do feel a little floaty, especially in the early stages, but that could be my laptop/me not getting the timing right. I agree that some music/more sound effects could kick things up a notch. Overall, I'm impressed. Great work!

Super Turtle Drop by JavaSaurus 2021-04-25T23:56:31Z

Those drills scared the crap out of me the first time, man! XD Great work :3

Dear Child by deformhead 2021-04-27T14:25:21Z

Well done for 24 hours! It is very short and I would love to see more gameplay, but the colors/aesthetic are nice and the story, for as brief as it is, is heart-twisting. Great work!

grGRIDid by John Gabriel 2021-04-25T23:52:37Z

I love this! The concept is really cool. I did have an issue where flipping pieces didn't always work for me, but I love it all the same. :)

Lost by SciDev 2021-04-26T01:30:48Z

Nice work! I got both endings even despite my bad sense of direction. XD Very easy to understand and play.

The Bothnia Trench by Milestone Games 2021-04-27T13:42:14Z

I really, really like this game. You don't see too many point and click adventures nowadays, and this really feels like it has a lot of depth (no pun intended) and work put into it. I did get stuck at one part after unlocking the computer, but that's not the fault of the game. I want to see a full game of this!

Cecil & Dawson Asylum by AdamWatters 2021-04-27T18:18:12Z

I love the sound/ambience and the sound effects! I wish there were more visuals, but the writing does hold up on its own. I love the location reminders at the top! I wish we'd done that. XD Great work!

Zombified by chesschaser 2021-04-27T14:12:15Z

You've got a lot of the basic building blocks of a solid platformer here! The jumping doesn't always work on a dime but I like the platforming aspect. While this is simple, you've done a great job considering the time limit! I think this is a great proof of concept, but could be enhanced with the ability to turn the camera, and some other polish (the character turning instead of strafing from side to side, for example). Keep it up!

A Taste of the Past by Emily Pitcher 2021-04-27T02:49:14Z

The art and music are beautiful. The theme is great and the game itself is heart-wrenching. I also encountered an error where I couldn't progress past the second car with your grandparents. I restarted and played up to the boiling noodles, but encountered the same error afterward. Still, beautiful work!!

A Taste of the Past by Emily Pitcher 2021-04-27T03:06:26Z

@emily-pitcher Thanks for the heads up! That's my bad, then.

@wisedawn Thank you so much for playing! It was a lot of fun to make. :) Any luck with the secret area? A streamer we saw play it managed to get the first one!

@saathvik @xpycm There should be a full screen option on the bottom right corner. I hope that helps!

@Glaas Thank you so much!! The blue eyes were the artist's idea and the "You have been here before" was all the programmer. If you loop more through it it also says other things (like "you have been here before" and "you don't want to be here again."

@redsorel Thank you so much! Does going full screen help the text issue?

@dark-blue-dragon-games Thank you so much. Our artist and composer are crying from all the love! <3 Some images didn't have time to make it in; they'll be put in after the Play + Rate is over!

@saathvik @xpycm Thank you for the feedback! I adjusted the display size to 1000x1000. I hope that fixes this issue and you'll be able to play it! If not please let me know so I can keep trying.

@antonishig Thank you! That is a known issue; that was one of the pieces we didn't have time to put in but will after the Play + Rate is over.

@zondarg Thanks! We really appreciate your kind words. :) If you ever want to go back for the Good ending, there's a hint in the description!

Stock: A Tale from The Pages by MAB_Cat 2021-04-27T15:23:12Z

@saathvik Thank you!! I'll pass all these comments along. I will say this: You aren't doing anything wrong; things will change as the runs go along. Take a walk through the woods, hydrate slowly, and respect nature for the good ending!

Stock: A Tale from The Pages by MAB_Cat 2021-04-27T15:35:20Z

@saathvik Yes, that's one of the endings!

Stock: A Tale from The Pages by MAB_Cat 2021-04-27T16:53:35Z

@dane-tesla Thank you so much for playing! As the lead writer I really appreciate the comment on the narration. ^_^ The secret area is a cameo from characters from our YT channel (The Factotum Project). The first instance triggers voice lines and a chance to jump back or ahead. The second can trigger independently or at a higher chance after the first instance when you kill the tree, offering you a chance to save it. I hope that makes sense!

Which endings did you get? I'm curious!

Stock: A Tale from The Pages by MAB_Cat 2021-04-27T17:45:03Z

@dane-tesla Awesome! Thank you so much!! You're the first person to get the good ending that I've seen! I hope the story was clear and made sense, considering the true end!

@lectvs @eugenik Thank you both!

@squidly Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate you playing it. I had a lot of fun on your stream as well!

@illabom Thank you so much!! We really appreciate it. <3 Y'all have blown us away with the love! Did you find all the endings?

@blue-pin-studio Thanks so much for your feedback!

Asteroid Showdown by Saathvik 2021-04-27T14:52:09Z

I enjoyed this! The sound effects are quite impactful (if a bit loud) and the gameplay is fun! I was surprised when I found that the enemies didn't respawn after death (but I was grateful for that too), and I like that it didn't start you completely over from the beginning. There were times where, when I did respawn, enemies had health missing still; I'm not sure if that was intended or not. Overall, awesome work! Especially if you've never done pixel art before!

Asteroid Showdown by Saathvik 2021-04-27T15:14:38Z

@saathvik Gotcha! That's tough. I was lucky enough to work in a team. Still, you did incredible work! I can't imagine doing it all myself.

1100 by Xpycm 2021-04-27T14:44:34Z

Oh, nice, a mobile game! The only thing I noted was that the sub looked a bit TOO shiny compared to the background, a bit out of place, but that's not a huge deal! You could definitely expand on this in the future. :)

Little Mother by Save Sloth Studios 2021-04-29T05:32:30Z

A very short game without many mechanics; the art and the music are phenomenal!

Someone's Missing... by Erik Bermudez 2021-04-26T00:41:25Z

I LOVE the concept of this! You don't need fancy graphics or complex storytelling to have a good game, and I really like your final product!
