It's not ready, will publish at deadline
Interesting art sytle and fun gameplay.
I really liked this one! Vampire survivors with an interesting spin on resources (ammo and time) management. I found the bidirectional health bar a sub-optimal choice and it's a pity there's no background music. Overall, a good game!
The art style is minimalist but really pretty ! I have seen a few "bug" : pumpkin isn't giving any seed , apple tend to randomly stop whenever it want and the aiming is all over the place. I don't know if it's a bug but the sunflower does a knock back effect the apple and corn doesn't Now i have a few gameplay opinions : 1/ having a auto-shooter is a choice but the randomly selecting target take from what you can do with your placement 2/ The ammo producing plant is a cool idea but since you don't have an increase in shooting rate one or two plant is WAY more than enough to have all the plant you need 3/ the upgrade proposition are all over the place sometimes giving you 3 health when you are full sometimes giving you three new plant or upgrade. Having a dead weight pumpkin isn't helping either.
Having a manually control could have been a good idea with a decrease in ammo production and enemy making you choose to shoot a gameplay choice !
As for the upgrade either a reroll option or fixed slot , like left is for new plant middle is for upgrade and right is for health.
But all in all i enjoyed the game played a few session and won !
Very cozy game! Nice graphics and music combination, this game would looks nice on android
Smooth visuals and presentation! The little sounds were nice, but I would have liked a quiet music track to bring them together. Was kind of addicting. I played for about 40 minutes before I won. I think the level up screen needs to provide more options for purchase. Maybe four cards or five even. Most of the time, all my upgrade options were the same too, some something to shake them up would have been nice, like a reroll or better randomness.
Wow, this is incredibly polished and has a beautiful minimalist art style! Love the mashup of Vampire Survivors and just a dash of Plants vs Zombies. The variety of upgrades is really fun, and the sound design is super chill and fun to listen to. I really like that the waves are time based, so even if you run out of ammo you can survive. The weapons are all pretty fun to use, and I like that you can spec one particular type without needing to have everything active. Excellent game idea and implementation!

Very lovely looking game. The art style is so beautiful and consistent! As for character's movement, I would have preferred it a bit faster.
I won! I have nothing critical to say about this game, because it's relaxing, beautiful, fun, it fits the theme...
Great game! The combination of the graphic style along with the sounds set an amazing mood. Good job
Love the art style! I felt myself wanting to move a little bit faster and the rounds to last a little bit longer so I could collect more coins. Regardless, this project feels quite polished, good job!
I love the art style of this, seen it on LombyGGs stream. played the itch version - looks like the particles spawning are causing a frame rate issue - are you using an object pool?
This game is great lots of potential - day/night cycle changes, dynamic events like seasons etc.
Really chill vibe - love the power feeling after a while like wave 15+ ish

Yay! Love it, great work, dude. Game addictive as hell! Also don't know why, but that coins is soooo tempting that I had to restart a game couple of times just because I was getting too greedy :D
The game is pretty fun but i feel its not balanced well. Most of the time you are just running away but what you kill drops the coins behind you into the massive pile of mobs following directly behind you so you never get to pickup the coins because you never get enough time in a way to make a big enough circle.
So i think if you could balance the mob types and movement styles it would be much more interesting and fun. Alternatively you could have a limit number of mobs per wave so they slowly disapate and you can get around to picking up the coins - then it becomes a puzzle to not kill everything but still pickup your coins.
Pair that with a few interesting movement choices like a dash with a cooldown or a teleport back to a set location and you open up to the player a large number of interesting choices to make keeping the game engaging.
Also in the beginning all you do is plant corn to ensure you have enough ammo. That makes the upgrade system feel like you don't have interesting choices initially.
The art style and ambient music/sound a great though. With just a few tweaks and a few more interesting choices this would have been one of the better entries in the jam. Great work!
Cute! Liked the ammo system and the different weapon types. It would be cool if there was a more consistent way to get health back, like maybe one of the shop choices should always be health.
nice and smooth art style, the audio is cool too. enemies were a bit too slow for me, and it was kinda easy to kite them during the wave phases. upgrades were cool, but maybe it lacked a way to see how many coins we have during a wave phase? nice entry.
This is such a good looking game, I don't know what it is but I just really dig the art style and the effects and the UI... It all looks so good! I love the idea of rounds and buying stuff afterwards. All that said there were a few pain points for me: - Like some others have mentioned enemies dropping coins that you have to go backwards to get doesn't really make much sense and doesn't make for super fun gameplay. If those coins went straight into my account it might be an improvement??? I'm not sure this is very subjective but I don't think the current system is working. - Also like Rocktavius above me ^ has mentioned I would've liked to see some form of dash or something to make escaping enemies more about skill and less about luck, and also to give you an out if accidently mess up. As right now running into anything causes the mob to just instantly consume you, and a lot of times it's not a reflection of skill. - I was confused at first if I needed to defend my corn plants, if they would get attacked. I think it would have added depth if you had to lead them away from the plants, but I also understand a jam is a tight time limit. - I thought the corn plants were a little expensive for how much you require them early on (I played the post jam version) - Again something I've seen a lot in the comments so sorry to repeat it, but I would've liked to see the targeting system take some sort of input from the player or just target the closest enemy as the current system isn't ideal. Despite all of that I still really enjoyed my time with it! I think it was super unique and I just have a soft spot for that type of end of the round upgrade system thing, though I know it is a hallmark of survival shooters. I would've liked to see more depth to the gameplay but provided it was so short it never outstayed its welcome. And again I really appreciated the pastel colours and little particle effects. Great entry!

Loved the zen vibes of this, really nice game, congrats!
Really fun harvest take on the Vampire Survivors genre! The controls were clean. My biggest suggestion for improvement would be to make the game a bit faster paced! I felt like there was often downtime where I was just moving around waiting for ammo.
Pretty engaging game! The art style is simple but in a classy sort of way. Everything is very cohesive. First time around I never got the chance to plant anything but corn, but second time around, I got to pumpkin. Very satisfying to have so many bullet types all going at once. I kinda wish it wasn't just 10 waves so that I could see how OP I can become over time!
Some temporary invulnerability after taking damage might've been nice to have, as if you slip up, sometimes it means instant death, even against a single enemy.
I've played a bunch of Vampire Survivors and Brotato, so I really enjoyed this game. I was so broken by the end that I could just stand still and occasionally go around collecting coins.
One thing this game needs is the reroll from Brotato. I was collecting so many coins that I had hundreds left over after each round. I could have become even more overpowered with a reroll.
Really great game. Awesome job!
By the way, I found this one through chompdev's post of recommendations.
Really nice.
The art-style works perfectly, the upgrades were well thought out and the some of the subtle touches like the bit of knockback on the enemies when hit were much appreciated.
Such a great game! First, I love how it looks. The low poly style with the vivid colors is awesome. Even the UI just looks good. The sound effects and birds in the background fit well.
The gameplay itself is truly satisfying! It's terribly hard to balance a game like this and I think it's a bit too easy. There's a point where you're able to turn from being hunted to being a hunter, where the enemies can't spawn fast enough. But I still enjoyed every second of it. I would have loved an endless hardcore mode with a score in the end though.
Anyhow, thanks for the great game!
A very satisfying game! The simple art style was just perfect. The variety of seeds and effects made me feel powerful. It was maddening not being able to get to a pile of coins inside a horde of enemies. I found myself wishing for more player upgrades, rather than just seed upgrades. But I think you found a nice balance for the entry. It was enjoyable to play without either being too stressful or too easy. I only wish I had a chance to admire my final garden at the end, rather than the simple win screen!
totally solid entry. Saw phil playing this on pixel prophecy stream. Had to try it. COOL stuff!2023-01-22 18_37_04-Midday Garden _ ldjam.com _ Ludum Dare game jam.png
neat! i liked that it was beatable, but also kind of feel like it could have been harder. The polish level is pretty great! well done!
Wonderful presentation and as you've seen, my Vampires-Survivor-skill came into play a lot ("go in big circles and don't get hit"). As I said, I felt the game was a bit stingy with health-upgrades when I would have needed them most but the balancing was spot on otherwise -- impressive! Thanks for submitting! A very neat touch on the horde game genre. The graphics and the juciness are amazing for a jam game! Somehow I find the sounds effects being my all time favorite. My ears are blessed. 10/10
