Art was really freaking awesome!!! Keep it up
Nice concept! It would be really nice if there was a way to enable only one player though, trying to play while dragging around a useless unmoving character was a bit frustrating. Maybe also consider increasing the resolution, it was hard to keep track of the shurikens when they were flying around offscreen. Other than those small problems though, it was really neat!
Thanks all, yes, it really is best played with 2 players. Try and grab someone to take the other half of the keyboard or plug in an Xbox 360 controller if you have one...
neat, although (obv) a bit funny with a single player .. ha. the best strategy is mashing the fire-keys on vboth players with a periodic palm on the movement..
really liked the idea, very original. nice job. =D
Super original idea. I was just playing by myself and using the second player as a decoy which worked pretty well. :) And you're definitely getting 5 stars on humor for the shuri-can/shuri-can't pun.
I played this by myself, I'm sure it would be more fun with another player! Was hard to control both players at once. I liked the pixel art, and the music fit very well.
I played it alone, freaked out when the shuriken started attacking me, nice entry
I'm guessing Henri is your kid or a child you know. I think it's freaking awesome that you made the game together!
only had myself to play the game with today but it was really neat seeing the game and btw, I love the puns!
I laughed when I realized I could hurt myself and the other ninja. Nice entry.
Yes, Henri, my son, and I did a Ludum Dare Jam 3 years ago when he was 7. You can play it here: https://disperse.itch.io/cursed
Holy crap! More is definitely worse when you're left alone to control both characters! I see this being a rather fun co-op game :) Great work everyone!
I love the ninja concept and the ideal that you can hurt by yourself. Nice game!
The idea of bad power ups is neat, especially when they are still more helpful than not like in this, very interesting!
I really like the idea behind this game, and plays with an idea i've been thinking about for a while that it is a bad idea to hold down the fire button. Not enough games like this do that, and having the shurikens come back and hurt you is the most creative solution to that problem i have seen.
It was on with the red shurikens. Too bad I couldn't play with someone else :( Nice entry!
Pretty good overall! The page didn't work well for me the first 2 times, but the game was fun!
@versatile-box Thanks for taking the time to try it! Do you mean you had performance issues or were there other issues getting the game to load?
The controls were a little fiddle-y. I think one player is enough, or perhaps the ability to chose whether to play 1p or 2p.
Also, I think it would have been better to have the aiming and throwing controlled by the mouse, like your average twin-stick.
But the concept is pretty cool. I liked it. :)
the graphic is great , i like it keep it up! and don't forget to check out my game too :)
i think this is a bug if i get pushed into the corner i don't take any damage.
@executive Yes, you're right, the physics library I'm using only calls an event for the first collision. I never got around to periodically applying damage when you're in contact with the enemies.
Cool game, I love the two player aspect and the shuriken gameplay!
Web version wouldn't start for me the first few times I tried to play. The keyboard controls were ideal. Maybe you could made it so you could use the keyboard controls with 2 hands.
Great submission :)
Fun concept but honestly it feels more frustrating that fun to play. Maybe it was intended to be this way, I don't know. Good job with music and art. Nice solid entry, good job!
