Dare I guess who made the concept drawing?
Nice Game! Can't stop playing until I got it under 20 seconds, but once I got it, the game said I lost, sad story xD My best time was around 12 seconds ;) Keep going!
Fun to drive around, but I didn't really know what the hell I was doing. I got a bunch of red cubes, and then a red squiggle. The minimap wasn't really clear - it had a red square that I guess was me, but it didn't track with the revealed white squares. I could drive through some of the wood walls, but not others. The headlight effect was cool - very neat how the illumination worked. The music was pretty repetitive. Smooth controls and fun driving. Nice work.
I'm not entirely sure how to play this game -- e.g. what exactly the red cubes do -- but I suppose it's a workable concept.
In it's current state, the main problem it has, I think, is the controls -- the cart has a lot of momentum and doesn't turn very fast, and it's pretty easy to just fly straight into enemies.
Great concept! The car control felt a bit challenging, but I guess that was a part of the challenge anyway. If the amount of drift was reduced, maybe the control would've been a bit easier to learn. Couldn't get it to 20 seconds but loved playing it every single time. I would love playing it if the time limit was extended a bit and the dungeon was bigger.
We would love it if you could play our game too. Honest reviews and ratings are welcome. Link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/round-n-round
The game is nice, the idea is innovative, but i think you should choose a different angle (maybe 80 degrees) instead of directly 90 degrees. Also, the sound is nice for a few seconds, but because it is too short, it makes the loop somehow annoying
Was pretty fun the speed was maybe a bit fast when turning but over all pretty cool.
not to bad, it was pretty fun. I would consider only letting people see where the light is. also would like to see the enemies be more then white shapes. the concept, the map, even the game play is good. the music fits. nice game.
The handling is a little small destabilizing during the first few seconds of play but masters very quickly! It's a lot of fun to skid but the car may be a little too fast. The game becomes very hard when you have to dodge several enemies or be precise to recover a key.
However, it’s a very good concept and entry !
the mechanics work, although I lost a couple of times playing :P
Fun little jam game! The core concept is really great. Really dig the music (although simple). Think that the controls needs some work and adding some more features would be key to make it a good full game. Great job :)
There is a lot of good things in the game, and a few things you could fix for the game to be at its best. There are some stretched textures, controls feel a bit sensitive, but the idea is goo. A roguelike/racing game is interesting, and bug fixes and lots of content could make this into a sellable game
Nice game! The concept is very interesting. Some polish to the controls would be great, the kart feelt slipery sometimes. I really liked the music. Congratulations!
Come and try mine! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/tactical-hydra
I like the idea of sort of LoZ x Mario Kart. The controls were really hard to use because of how fast the car went. The idea is good but it needs a lot more polish to be good.
Second driving/dungeon crawler mash up i played (other one was this one https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/legend-of-zoom) , strangely its a combination that works pretty well. Shame you didn't manage to finish this one, as @mohamed-dkd said if you are doing 3d maybe a slightly different camera angle would be better to make the most of it, otherwise you may as well just do it in 2d it seems. The headlight is nice, maybe should make more use of that as a core mechanic. Played a few times and never did see the green key. The basic message box pop-up for 'You Died' made me smile in its basic placeholderness. Actually gives me an idea for a mash up, arcade game meets line of business application. Damn too late for this jam.
