Really sick game! Reminds me of Papers Please. The absurdity of the crimes was also really funny oml. Pretty fun when you get the hang of it

Seems impossible to keep up with the laws constantly changing, but that's the point right?

kujoen 2022-10-04 00:00

Keep trying! If you perform well and have alot of correct verdicts, you may be up for promotion... Law generation is random, so you may have a hard experience if you are unlucky. Keep trying, the glorious leader may go easy on you and enact less laws :)

There was a bug with the desktop version, but we have an itch.io page now with the correct version!

This is a cool game! I really like the idea and its executed really well :) I did find it quite difficult though, and maybe the timer and whether you got it correct or not could be indicated a bit more clearly, but overall fun game!

Loved the art and sounds, there is a lot to keep up with, maybe you could have started with less rules to begin, but overall it was a fun time :)

The ever increasing "crimepool" is a fun idea. I just wish it would have been a bit more to it than just outfits and jobs. Dont get me wrong it works and for a jam one cant really expect much more but it would have been fun if you really had to question them about stuff.

Funny side note - many of the people of the jury would need to be executed for smiling xD

Fun premise! I do think that the rng should be tempered a little bit. On my second run, there were no extra laws for the first couple minutes, then they just started piling up rapid-fire. Once there are more than five extra laws, (especially the numerical ones like height and age), it starts to take a ridiculous amount of time to judge each defendant. And I guess it never occurred to the lawmaker of Absurdia to have a grandfather clause. Being a chef became illegal mere milliseconds before I decided to acquit some evil chef bastard.

very absurdia

brunozisman 2022-10-06 05:04

Really good idea, i would've liked to know more how i was performing, but i had a lot of fun and laugh every time the laws were updated, even if i would be found guilty because of the size of my ears, i still really liked it. Good job!

strongggggg

Difficulty seems to ramp up quickly and everything seems well designed to push towards the absurdity of everything. Nice job with the reasons for the new laws, they were amusing (although I feel like a few of those a supreme leader might not admit to, but what is what suspension of disbelief there for if not allowing a punch line).

cool idea. i like new laws. glory to absurdia :D

chingle 2022-10-09 08:20

This was a pretty fun game, I like the humor on it and the mechanics too.

ruruie 2022-10-09 21:17

I'm not saying that Death for the crime of frowning is necessarily a *just* law. All I'm saying is that the enforcement mechanisms are simple and the overall burden to our legal system is low.

inno 2022-10-10 12:04

People came in accused of illegal outfit. There didn't seem to be a law against it. So I sent em all to labor camp but soon joined em :(

falk-hoeppner 2022-10-13 17:38

What an absurdia game! Had a lot of fun with this one, it was funny and mechanically sound.

axelrinaldo 2022-10-20 16:53

I am glad someone else had a similar idea to me and managed a better implementation of it. This was *exactly* what I was going for with my game. :D Silly laws, funny people and good honest absurdity. Great game! :D
