I liked the game, the graphics and commentary were awesome. Had a lot of fun trying to figure out where to place everything.

I liked the game, the graphics and commentary were awesome. Had a lot of fun trying to figure out where to place everything.
Nice idea. I found it very hard. Always made it to week 6, despite of trying different tactics etc.
The difficulty is pretty tought, but not too much.
Graphics surely need some polish but it's ok for a compo
The theme fits, maybe not with a fully grasp but it's ok
Overall is a nice little game to play and challenge yourself
Good work, man!
This is really fun, and the interface feels good. I like how well it gives feedback on selections. The graphics and sound are well designed and fits the feel of the game. I get this nice chill feeling typical of a good management game.
I can only do it for 9 weeks. Sometimes I have no choice. There are too much randomness. Anyway, It's a funny game.
The theme tie in is a bit on the nose but I guess it's better than missing it altogether. The art seems prototype-y but I like it. As mentioned in some of the other comments, it is pretty difficult, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
I really like the information given when you hover over a house. It's a clean and quick way to get the information. The rest of the information is clearly displayed too.
I enjoyed the voice-over. It's a nice touch.
Haha nice game! The voice-over was great, and the music and sound effects suited the game very well! Despite finding it quite difficult, I think it is quite enjoyable.
Great game, I played it through several times and found it really clever. I made it 21 weeks, with about 550 in income. Once I figured out that I should click on the house that was in a good position and then hover over the options to see the highlights around it, the game became much easier. Before that, I was mousing around trying to remember who wanted what, and it was too hard. Theme is a stretch, could just be $$, but who cares. Great work!
I played through maybe 10 times, but always went bankrupt after 7 weeks  It needs some balancing, and some mechanic to counterweight the randomness.
I liked the music, it resembled an Age of Empires tune
Well, I will go against the other guys, and I say that if sticking to the theme is a this big stretch, you should have just let the theme go. The game would have looked better in a fully economic theme.
I liked that minimalistic art style, the popups, the ui panels, and the indicators as well.
Summary: Could have received a bit more depth, balancing, and should have just let the theme go.
Keep it up!
Cool game, I loved the fact that there is actual voice acting :)
Wow, impressive.
Fantastic game, I made it all the way to week 25 before I couldn't keep up. instead of having to click on a house and hovering over a store to see what people want to buy you should just have a panel on the side that allows you to do that, and maybe a way to zoom out. The voice acting was a really nice touch.
Had a lot of fun with this! I was able to get to 8 weeks. The music was relaxing and chill, perfect for setting the mood and your lighthearted voice over fit the relaxed and fun vibe. "You are dead" was a personal fav :joy: . I enjoyed the simple graphics, this all added up to a strong mood. I could see this developing into a bigger project with more mechanics, simple but still very difficult and a lot of fun! Great work!
I was able to reach week 10. I really like to concept of balancing out your options and trying to figure out your next move. It's very interesting. I didn't like the UI and graphics. Although, it's nice that you've made indicators that show you which house wants to buy what when you hover over any shop's icon. Overall it's a fun game.
6 weeeks haha, im bad businessman... Nice game, great work!
Couldn't quite figure the best strategy. But the game seems complete and well-polished. Music and voice acting adds a lot to the atmosphere. Awesome job!
The idear works well and the challenge is finely balanced. It's just a bit frustrating to be unable to change the zoom and to admire how the city have grown. But still a really cool work Capture d’écran (42).png
It's pretty great, the voice is just a bit hit or miss...
16 weeks! This is a really fun game, I'm definitely gonna play again to see if I can beat my personal best.
Pretty difficult! But it's a fun idea and game. Nice touch with the yellow overlay when you hover a shop, made understanding which houses wanted what a lot easier!
Not bad! Thought it would be too easy but made it just 6 weeks on my first play so it requires some thinking.
I love it !
Spot on with the theme. The graphics were brilliant, especially with the time constraints of a Compo game 😄. The difficulty was pretty high, but that probably made it all the more fun. Congrats on making this in just 48 hours!
I had a lot of trouble getting past 6 weeks at first, then I changed my strategy a bit and managed to reach 12
Good use of the theme!
Hey, made it to week 9 !! Enjoyed the game, the UI art and effects are great, the tuning looks good too. Randomness is a but frustratring tho, I am curious, have you considered the possibility of seeing the next spawn ?
@hugzfnr I am not totally sure what you mean by seeing, but if you mean, that I have consider using seeds, so you can play the same scenarios more then ones? Then the answer is no, but it could be an idea for a post version of the game. You are clearly not the only one who don't like the games randomness. The idea with the randomness is to make challenge different from one round to the next round. Even with the randomness I have in my test of the game, seen that it in most cases it is possible to survive from about 18 to 25 weeks with a good strategy.
@jk5000 I was thinking about a visual on what houses will spawn next turn so you can plan according to that
@hugzfnr I have not considered it, but it could be an idea.
Great job! I love hearing voice acting in LD games!
we do not really understand what serves is the blue square
@dimesto52 the blue square tells you witch houses the shop sells its products to.
Nice sim city cover
I liked the gameplay and it was well-built.I would never imagine that a LD game would have dubbing hahaha. I just think that there should be an option to do nothing in the turn
Cool game... Bit hard for me :D Great job.
Nice game, I liked that you commented it a bit. I did not like the "You are dead" at the end. Is just didn't fit. But overall interesting gameplay and nice overview of the needs of the citizens.
I liked the voice acting and gameplay. Howerver, I felt the theme was slightly lacking. Also, I felt that past a point it was impossible.
I enjoyed the voice acting. The concept is intriguing. Great work
Nice game! A litte bit to hard and difficult to understand, butI had a really good time with it! Good job!
I made it to week 11.
I jumped right in and tried a bunch of stuff and after round three I found out what I needed to know. Hover over the items to see which houses go yellow and you are good to go :-)
Interesting concept, I found it a bit hard to survive. Then I did not really pay much attention to how the calculation of weekly expenses comes together. The game could have been a little clearer.
I like the music and how you recorded your own intro :-)
Overall a solid entry, keep up the good work!
Haha that voice acting, I think the game is a bit hard to approach. It's fairly hard to understad what are you actually doing. Great job for a jam!! It sure took a lot of effort. Congrats!
nice game! Gameplay seems lot deeper than on first look. The graphics are basic but work adequate. Sound and music as well. The entry barrier was a bit high, at least for me. I wasn't too sure why I lost the first time around after 5 weeks. The second run was a bit better after I saw, that every house has demands. Even then, I think there could be more visual clues on the range of every shop, even after they are built. It was hard to keep track of everything after the fact. Nontheless, a very creative puzzle game. I did not expect something polished like this after going in. Good job!
Very solid puzzle, survived 15 weeks in my first try. Houses that are supplied with all the three needs could have an indication and may give bonus. After week 10 I noticed that my resources started going on the minus, but could not do anything to prevent it, most likely because of poor play. Will try again with a better strategy in mind..:) Very well done!
Made it to week 24 on my second try. This is quite a clever game, and you need to think quite strategically to make progress, but it's not entirely clear where the impact on the stats is coming from. Good work overall, will probably play again.
Cool game! I like graphics and sounds were great! I feel it could help to have more visual clues on the range of shops
Interesting game! I liked how it highlighted the areas which were interested in a certain product when hovering over the place shop button. That was a big help when trying to decide where to place a shop.
I played a few times but never made it past week 7. But I still kept playing! Strangely addictive, and the feedback of having houses light up if they'll buy the product was such a good mechanic. It could use a little balancing with expenses, or maybe I'm just really bad at it. The voiceover was a nice touch, and the music was thematic if repetitive. Definitely fun to play!
Making restart the game on "R" is a little bit cruel, pressed it by accident several times  Overall it's a pretty addictive and clever made game! Definitely good work!

Thank you all for the great feedback.
**Here is my thought about the feedback:**
1) *The game is too difficult.* The game is not suppose to be super difficult, but you are suppose to play the game 2-3 rounds, and each time you play the game you should us a better and better strategy. The game is designed so you at best can survive up too about 30 weeks.
2) *The game is too random.* The game uses a lot random elements too make sure that each playthrough do not feel the same. In my testing of the game it was never an big issue for difficulty, that I used the random elements, but you can have been more unlucky then I have in my tests.
3) *The graphics was not good (Prototype graphics).* I agree that the graphics is not super great in this game. But in this game jam I focused more on gameplay then on graphics.
4) *The game needs better tutorial.* Yes, the game can use a better tutorial, and the UI could have been more helpful.
5) *R too restart was a bad idea.* When I use "R" key to restart the game, it is just because it is normal in jam games to use R to restart the game. I know it is not always the best idea, but I think it is a big issue.
**What do I think about my game**
I really liked the idea I had for the game. But I had some more ideas for the game, I really would have liked in the game, but I knew that a lot of players already would find the strategy in the game too complicated, and therefore I decided to keep the game as simple as possible.
The graphics, music and voice acting is for me okay, but it is not super great. If I had more time, I would have made a more beautiful game.
Overall I am okay satisfied with the game, but I know it is not the best jam game I have ever made.

I have uploaded a new version of the game. You can still find it here https://gamejolt.com/games/Life_Business/411111
In this version I have improved the graphics and I have made the game a bit easier. I have also made a few changes to the UI. And you can now zoom in/out

While running a business, I face various challenges and difficulties. The larger my company and the more actively the business develops, the more I notice this. Now I decided to try using [cloud based order management system](https://www.esker.com.sg/solutions/order-cash/order-processing/), and I think that this system will really help me to establish a workflow, optimizing it, while not hiring additional employees.

It’s an often asked question that comes with no easy answers. Many businesses succeed, taking a multitude of paths to reach their goals. But just as many, if not more, fail.
Success in business is not a one-size-fits-all proposition. You might generate decent revenues in the first few years, only to see those numbers steadily decline as time goes on.
Conversely, you could struggle with early growth with several years of red numbers, only to excel into a powerhouse firm within your industry.
Growth strategies are varied and should be bespoke to your business.
At a local level, reputation and word of mouth are powerful ways of attracting loyal customers, while companies with a wider geographic reach are likely to need to devote more resources to sales and marketing. However, it is important not to cast the net too wide, as targeted marketing activities are likely to be more productive in building a strong customer base. Expanding into new geographic regions is a well-trodden path for growth; the increase in remote working and e-commerce potentially makes that more straightforward than historically. Businesses can also look to grow through expanding existing product or service lines or vertical integration up or down the supply chain.
