LD44 — Your life is currency

Life Business by jk5000 2019-04-30T07:14:43Z

I was able to reach week 10. I really like to concept of balancing out your options and trying to figure out your next move. It's very interesting. I didn't like the UI and graphics. Although, it's nice that you've made indicators that show you which house wants to buy what when you hover over any shop's icon. Overall it's a fun game.

Mr. Bank's Journey by Sheepolution 2019-05-03T17:31:28Z

Very interesting mechanic, I like how you used weight to determine if pig can cross the bridge or get blown by wind. Very well made!

PATH, a game of life by Ekilibr 2019-04-30T12:00:01Z

This looks amazing! However, I think you should not make all those tiles around you bounce. Maybe keep the ones that are explored and animate those that aren't. Idk. It just looks too chaotic for a relaxed game like this.

Death Alley by DuzzOnDrums 2019-05-02T06:04:25Z

I love that art style. Also, animations :ok_hand: Very simple yet very effective. Great job! You should probably work on it a little more (maybe add some more content or game modes) and release it on mobile. It would be perfect for that platform.

Zugzwang by riv-roy 2019-05-01T05:44:04Z

I really like this game. You did very good job with graphics and sound. It's really cool that your moves can not only hurt your opponents but your allies as well. Also, UI sliders for volume look really good. It's nice when UI fits into the environment. One bug that I did noticed though is that turns counter goes up every time you click pass, I think it should go up only when both players finish their turn. But, whatever, this isn't that big of a deal.

BETRAYDED by karreg 2019-05-01T16:20:16Z

This pixel art looks AWESOME! Also, the movement mechanic is really innovative but easy to understand. I like how they :boom: when they die. It's really great game overall! Great job!

Digital Gray by fusionnist 2019-05-02T12:13:21Z

Pixel art in this game looks really clean, color pallet is just perfect and music is very fitting for this art style. Very fun game overall. Great job!

The Tail of the Serpent by Le Slo 2019-05-04T15:02:04Z

Mechanic is awesome! I love how you explain everything only by using level design. Also, I like the music and sound design. The one thing I had a problem with sometimes is that I'd move a few tiles, all at once, if I hold the button. Maybe add some wait time after each input. Other than that, it's a very cool game!

Path of Redemption by Simon Rahnasto 2019-05-03T15:25:42Z

I like that you added character customization, it's a nice touch. It's very well polished and fun to play game. It felt to me, though, that I fell into pits a bit randomly. IDK what happened there it's just felt a bit off. But overall, it's a great game with awesome graphics and nice music. I also liked the simplicity of fighting mechanic a lot!

Decay by Spaceface14Dev 2019-04-30T12:13:56Z

I like the simple aesthetic and also killing enemies feels really good (when they explode in little particles).

Dusty by jvolonte 2019-05-02T15:51:34Z

I like how you made that skeleton>human transition, it's a nice touch. It's a generally well polished game. I like how you added those pop up effects every time bullets hits the enemy. Also, it's nice that reload time is dependent on how many bullets I already have in the pistol. One thing I didn't like is that enemies would get too transparent when I hit them. I sometimes thought "This is it. I killed him." and that wasn't the case. But this should be an easy fix. Great job overall!

Bill Hunter by Andreas Roschal 2019-05-03T14:25:25Z

It would be great if you can persuade your targets somewhere where no one can see you kidnapping them. The way they move now is just too random in my opinion. It's very cool, though, that you marked all of the people that will flee if you kidnap someone, that's a nice feature. Also, I love that animation at the end of each mission. I like how this game requires attention to detail. That's not something I see that often. It was very interesting for me to play. Nice job!

Cashier Simulator 2019 by FrauKauz 2019-04-30T11:07:07Z

It's really buggy. I mean coins will just randomly stop following the mouse. And at first it was little confusing as to what am I supposed to do. So, some in-game tutorial would be nice. Anyways, I really respect you two changing roles in the team. That's a really brave experiment. Especially for Ludum Dare.

Cashier Simulator 2019 by FrauKauz 2019-04-30T11:46:15Z

@fraukauz In the rules it says you can't add features but you can do bug fixes. I'm not sure in which of those tutorials fall into. So yeah, I wouldn't risk it. Just add 'How to play' section on the game's page.

Cashier Simulator 2019 by FrauKauz 2019-04-30T15:44:36Z

@fraukauz It looks great, and it's also easy to follow

Ripped The Life by Alienplay 2019-04-30T18:59:26Z

@generalbeans I interpreted the theme differently. Basically, currency = value and when you take life from something it slows down so it's easier for you to go forward (meaning when you take life from something it has value to you). This just made sense to me XD @jk5000 @shp @yursa @bnmkt @philarmon @slotha @zoneoutapps @giezi Thanks for playing the game and leaving supportive comments!

Ripped The Life by Alienplay 2019-05-02T11:37:11Z

Thank you all!!!

@raphnika I was inspired by this one https://alpha.wallhaven.cc/wallpaper/738784 but I'm not really sure where that came from

Ripped The Life by Alienplay 2019-05-02T15:55:12Z

@rgarbati I'm really glad to hear that! @persegan Thank you! @tshiif I plan to continue developing it into a full web game and to release it to Kongregate and Newgrounds and maybe some other web portals. We'll see. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Bloodletter by shp 2019-04-30T10:50:56Z

Really good looking game. Can you tell me how to make art style like this? I mean are there any tutorials or something like that. Thanks in advance! Other than that, I'm really bad at FPS games so I couldn't get too far but I really enjoyed how shooting feels. Also, polish you added (sound effects and particles) are great too.

Bloodletter by shp 2019-04-30T11:12:17Z

@shp Awesome! Thank you for a explaining it. It sound like something I might me able to pull of. Can't wait to try it and see how it goes. Thanks again!

What's your lifetime value? by BlackLambert 2019-04-30T11:41:24Z

I think you should have placed that animation (person going around the globe) somewhere on the right. I found myself just playing at the right side and not even looking at it. Graphics look really nice. Although, it was a bit difficult to figure out which action will have which effect but I guess that's how it goes with life

Xochipilli's Trade by Giezi 2019-04-30T07:52:29Z

Great job. I really love the pixel art characters you've created. They look awesome! That "press right arrow to acknowledge" moment was just perfect

Mosquito Hunter by mharring 2019-05-03T14:42:07Z

It's actually very addictive to play. I like that the tongue is dual purpose, it's really cool that you thought of adding that grappling hook kinda mechanic. Really nice game!

Blood and goods by selewi 2019-05-05T05:58:07Z

It's a very interesting and addictive game. I like the graphics, the music and the atmosphere in general. It's was very frustrating, though, to wait 5 seconds when replaying the game. It felt a but too punishing. Other than that, I really liked the game! Also, game's page looks beautiful! :) I like when someone leaves time for designing that as well.

Goals by vanLeiden 2019-04-30T11:20:53Z

You really nailed the theme. And you also used those phrases like 'the path isn't always clear' and 'some goals are impossible to achieve' really good to explain the gameplay. Also, the whole atmosphere is nice and music and sound as well. Great job!

D.R.I.E.D. by JasonD 2019-05-02T15:29:34Z

I feel like this idea can be explored much further by adding some more content to it. But, anyways, it's a really good game. It has really good looking visuals, nice sound effects and music and, in general, it was interesting and enjoyable to play.

MeatScape by Lvl99Chicken 2019-05-01T05:55:47Z

Art style used for the player and flies looks really nice, that ground texture is more questionable though  Shooting requires some getting used to but that timing mechanic added some more depth to gameplay. Overall, I really enjoyed the game.

BDE LLC by Slayzar 2019-05-01T15:56:24Z

You should have added some more detailed explanation. I mean it's not really clear if I'm progressing or not and what each knob does so I just randomly rotated them, but it's an interesting idea. Also, graphics look cool.

Market Master by zactical 2019-04-30T07:43:40Z

Yo, I needed 35K to retire and I made 4.8M by the age 10. Even Warren Buffett is not on my level LOL

It's a fun game once you understand how to play it. But I needed some time to do so. I mean that mini game of clicking on jobs and waiting for workers didn't make too much sense to me.

Although, I really like how you named those stocks

Heart Sacrifice by Predrag 2019-05-01T16:34:40Z

I really like that pixel art style (especially how you combined lighting with it). It's also a very polished game with really nice looking particle effects. You should have added some sound though. At least from SFXR. But anyways, it's a nice game.
