Whoop Whoop

I think you should have placed that animation (person going around the globe) somewhere on the right. I found myself just playing at the right side and not even looking at it. Graphics look really nice. Although, it was a bit difficult to figure out which action will have which effect but I guess that's how it goes with life

Great example of unfolding gamemechanics and a cool time-manager. Was fun, fits the topic and a good artstyle. All in all a very solid entrance.

rainsong 2019-04-30 22:39

Cool concept. The graphic style suited it well, too.

luis-j-benitez 2019-04-30 22:49

The game is fun to play. Just to see what happens. Good Job.

Was fun to see how which action impact the hero's life. You had good ideas. Also graphics are really good. Like Alienplay sayed having the animation always visible would have been great.

Also it would be really better with some music and sound.

Good job overall!

I tried eating mud all my life, i died at like 20/30 years old , dont eat mud kids xD Nice game mates !

carraka 2019-05-01 12:55

Great graphics! It took me a long time to figure out that I could use the mouse to imitate a touchscreen in scrolling up and down (before that I was using the mouse wheel, which took foreverrr). Maybe some of the desires should disappear as you age? Or at least their description should change. I might have spent too much time as a senior cuddling with mum... and I might have imagined cuddling with a skeleton.

Audio would have really improved this game, so I hope you find an audio person. You can always at least find free music and sound effects. You can't be rated in audio, but it helps the mood of the game.

I liked it though I think there's not enought time between each ages

YOU CAN EAT MUD FOR YOUR WHOLE LIFE!

Really interesting concept that makes you think what you are doing with your life and why are you not eating mud right now.

Seriously, you wonder what choices you made that affected in positive and negative ways but resulted in where you are right now (and possibly where you'll be tomorrow).

I think the game could use a little more options (and restrict them by age and/or by choices done before) but yeah, given the timeframe to deliver a complete game is already an achievement. And music, it would really make a difference in setting the mood of the game.

Good job on developing this game. Now i'll leave games behind and start a new life of mud eater.

Great art! It'd be nice to have some instructions on which values each action would affect, though, since there are so many to keep track of.

zanagi 2019-05-03 20:11

Interesting concept, Some things I would've liked to have:

- Sound & Music: Just having some BGM and/or simple sound effects for the actions would add so much life to the game. - Adjustable game speed: Personally I found sitting through some long actions a bit boring, since there wasn't much visually happening in the game while waiting. - Simple sprites/animations for actions: Same as above

Great job on the game, and good luck on your next one

Great time management game. Squishing it all onto one screen would be good. Mouse scrolling through the list is quite slow, you can see the game was designed for touchscreen

miltonsilva 2019-05-04 08:41

face that more beautiful art and beautiful game pleased me enough congratulations.

arron-fowler 2019-05-05 17:07

Lovely and reflective game. Original and well made. I wish it was not spread over multiple screens as it felt a bit disconnected. Solid entry though.

exilegl 2019-05-07 01:25

Fun descriptions for the things you can do, like daydreaming being a "singleplayer adventure" lol. Nice and straight forward. I'd add a scroll bar to the actions list so it's easier to tell where you are on the list and when there's new you should try.

Here's how I did on my first play:

I was attracted by the lovely graphics, and the title was intriguing as well.

The game mechanic was very interesting in concept, and I think it uses the theme in a clever way, but it lost me as I started thinking than choices would only affect the bars, but didn't really have an impact on your "virtual life" (new choices / choices that disappear, becoming one type of person or another, etc...something more relatable, I guess), so in the end I felt a bit alienated by the progress bars and the timer. Maybe this was a metaphor all along, but it didn't click as I had hoped it would.

Despite this, the idea has a lot of potential and it feels really polished (I love the UI style and the choice of colours in particular). Keep polishing it and I'm sure you can make it shine. Good job!

the-blue-hatted 2019-05-07 23:46

Wow!, the game is really great! The artwork make it better, and how you can manipulate your life is so much fun!

erikkire 2019-05-09 17:36

This was definitely the most innovative game I have tested. Very interesting but game-wise it feels lite something is missing. Also, I think life passes too fast :)

theforceluke 2019-05-09 17:44

Really nice and well thought out ROI game mechanics. Instantly had me curious on what to do with my life ;) Solid implementation of mechanics and navigation, lovely art and animation. Creative and funny activity descriptions like "You're 14 and this is deep" made me chuckle. My only critique (as some said already) would be, that the main character is not visible most of the time while playing. I'm looking forward to your next creations!

telepinu 2019-05-13 01:58

An interesting experience. The mechanics are not what you usually see at a game jam (as far as I know) The concept compelled me to reflect about life in general, in a good way : ) The mood is light and humorous, and it set a mood on me. I liked this game.

The lack of music and/or sound turned off the mood for me. I think you should never explicity say in the description that your game is "hard", reading that can easily influence the player to predispose to an unpleasant experience, even if it's not true.

Congrats on your game : )

glimaleite 2019-05-18 13:59

Ahhh so refreshing to play this! Congratulations on the entry. It's a brilliant idea, one that I wished I'd thought of. There are two things that I think that are easy to implement to make it easier for players to understand what's happening: - Highlight the metrics that are being adjusted according to your current choice - Pause the time while the player is still selecting something (not sure if it's paused, but I felt rushed to decide nevertheless)

Thanks for this game, it's pretty neat!
