Don't BET your LIFE away! by jandourek 2019-05-05T19:17:08Z
It's a good concept.
Its hard to control the projectiles you're firing, making the fight feel unfair.

Amazing! The atmosphere settled in instantly.
The art, music were excellent, so were the dialogues and writing of the game!
This is a fun game! It feels simple (in a good way) and wholesome. The A-E / Q-D thing got me quite confused for a while, and never really did get the hang of it, but I still liked playing it! It's a shame it got no sound, that really would had added up to the "wholesomeness".
That was really fun to play!
I played it through lunatic difficulty and I had a blast. It feels very fluid and balanced.
The only con I would point is the music choice, which I didn't see fit.
Congrats!
The sudden change of game style and back again did not feel comfortable, I felt it a bit out of place, because of the lack of context.
The camera in the platform style needs a bit of work, because I can't see what's up ahead and that affects strategic choice.
I don't think the game followed the contest's theme.
I'm sure this worked wonders as a practice exercise : ) It's always important to make mistakes to grow.
An interesting experience. The mechanics are not what you usually see at a game jam (as far as I know) The concept compelled me to reflect about life in general, in a good way : ) The mood is light and humorous, and it set a mood on me. I liked this game.
The lack of music and/or sound turned off the mood for me. I think you should never explicity say in the description that your game is "hard", reading that can easily influence the player to predispose to an unpleasant experience, even if it's not true.
Congrats on your game : )
I understand the game has its own kind of humor, maybe an inside cultural joke? But I didn't really understand what the concept was about I spent some minutes playing; but sadly, I could not understand what was going on... Still, you made a game within a limited time frame, and for that I congratulate you.
The feeling of urgency created by the total 1 soul left after the doors at the tutorial were a nice touch! Combat feels nice, so does the music; hence the atmosphere feels good. I liked it!
