The scarecrows were terrible at their job, but at least they tried.

My first few tries ended pretty quickly but then I had a really good run of 1710 points. Getting two shields early seems really useful, and then I mostly chose missiles after that. Back shots didn't seem useful since my back was almost always facing the wall anyway. The biggest negative for me was no WASD support but I just moved my keyboard to the left for this game.
~~I don't know what's wrong but for some reason I can't move at all. Restart/quit still works.~~
Update: my plugged in controller was the cause, although I still needed to press the space bar.
I almost gave up on the first part because my ball was too fat to reach the small one in the corner.
The frogs don't seem useful enough, and I just skipped them in the second run.
Game couldn't handle how good my healing was.

@pandanym It looked like a scene transition was happening.
Feels good to play and I like all of the visual effects
Level 9 was a bit too difficult for me but this game is still really good, especially visually.
Could use more levels and extra challenge as others have said, but it's still a nice puzzle game.
I like the simple color scheme here and how you also added a small amount of color for important highlights. The door is also in a good spot because I might not have looked for a key without seeing that first.
Tough game, only made it to level 2. When there are multiple enemies you can't afford to only attack, so you need to wait until you get both attack and defend options that add up to 3 or less.
I figured out the confusing item selection eventually (drag item into first slot) but then my axe somehow moved out of the item box and on top of a torch where I couldn't pick it up again. Pressing a key to cycle through items would have been much better.
I didn't know about the extra flower types before reading the comments so I ended up beating the game with just the starter ones. Also, the cursor is too hard to see against the background.
Great puzzle game with a nice variety of levels
It's just a plant Gilbert, no need to be so sad.
RIP Bob, Bob 2, and Bob 3. Bob 4 won but he went mad so RIP Bob 4.
It looks nice and plays well, but I think restarting from the first level is too punishing.
After voting has ended I'm going to publish the post-jam version of the game which has 24 levels, a few new mechanics, a music track, and difficulty adjustments in some of the current levels.
Ac-ac-activated
I'm more concerned about the alien invasion than the fire.
What did they put in that chomp's food?
I think this mountain might be upside down.
I think the game would be a lot better as turn based with no time pressure.
