I love the graphics, it's fun to play, and damn boy it's some of the cutest pixel art I've seen the whole jam!
Okay, this game seems to be cool, but a lot of people, don't have time to install the game. If you could have an HTMl on, you will have a lot more persons !
Def see the value in HTML5 having played through a few titles now :laughing: scale is a bit off but have uploaded as HTML5 too now =)

"I'M ALIVE!" -- Very cool. I love that it's not just still images, but everything kind of jiggles and bounces around a little. -- It wasn't clear to me at first that you had to eat the bugs, I thought you had to avoid them and was trying to figure out what to eat! π -- Overall great entry. π

Cute graphics indeed. The blob gets such happiness from eating each and every creature of the land. The music really adds to the cheery massacre.
This idea is brimming with potential which is unfortunately going to waste at the moment. Turn-based movement lends itself to deductive logic (puzzles) or inductive logic (tactics) really well. The randomness of the level layout and animal movement patterns take away both of these possibilities.
To really squeeze most out of the design, the levels should be handcrafted and/or the movement patters should be predictable to some degree (completely or for 1-3 turns into the future). This way the player is forced to think about every move they make, and not just sprint forward mindlessly (which works pretty well at the moment).
Each animal could also have a different effect when eaten, for instance temporarily increasing movement speed, maximum energy level, or just removing hunger for x turns. The sky is the limit when it comes to theses sort of effects and they are a lot of fun to brainstorm and implement.
As it is, this certainly is a solid jam title and a good beginning for a more fleshed out project. Good work.
Certainly a cute game, though sometimes the gaps between the enemies are a bit unfair
Really cute game! But I think it's too random at the moment: the fact you win or loose depends a lot on the level generation. Sometime it was easy to move forward, sometime it was just impossible. It could be cool to a least predict the next move of the NPCs. But cool idea.
I really like the idea of predicting where the enemies go next! Thanks Doc :) And yeah I actually agree about the generation. Had we had more time (or I been more familiar with Unity), we would have adapted the generation to be more authored for sure

Nice entry. Not sure if the randomization of the enemies made it impossible to beat sometimes though. It was kind of based on luck for me to get to the finish. It had an ending so that was cool.

The graphics are really cute. I cound't make it really often to the end because I coun't get crabs (maybe no max lives of 5)
Took me a bit to get the hang of it, tried going really fast at first and then realized it was better to wait and evaluate each move a bit more. And hope to get lucky! haha This is weird but I just adore the dead cutie face
