Yay, another coffeehouse game! Looks like we interpreted the theme in similar ways, but you got a lot further! I’ll give this a try tomorrow! :open_hands:

witdarkstar 2020-04-20 23:15

Love the look and feel of the game. It's a little difficult figuring out how everything works together as I failed twice, but for a jam this is great.

thaniel 2020-04-20 23:24

It looks really nice and I always love a good isometric pixel art game. You should make a mobile one.

circuitbree 2020-04-21 08:14

@milestone-games had a look at yours and it was great! Coffee for the win

@witdarkstar Well some UI choices were made last minute, so i think with a bit time we could make a more clear UI and even a tutorial explaining things. But we are glad you liked it

@thaniel Thank you very much! Maybe we should bring this to mobile with a bit of refinement... let me talk to the team

I hope you hip developers made this in a coffee shop

purrsum 2020-04-21 16:16

I really like the graphics and the strategic gameplay! I didn't quite get it at first, but after I did, I was sure I would stick to the game forever if I didn't lose, after I was almost done with the third week when I suddenly failed :pensive:

I also really like the ambiance of a cafe, maybe it'd work to have some smooth jazzy tune playing as well, but that's just a suggestion

epsulon 2020-04-21 16:23

Ayaya coffee cups :D

spawnie 2020-04-21 17:15

The graphics are really nice The gameplay made me feel a bit lost, I failed twice on the first week and I could not understand way.

parahunter 2020-04-22 11:04

Cute game love the art but didn't understand the mechanics at all some sort of tutorial would be good. Not a fan of the Resources buy sound it's way too high pitched. Some randomization on it would be nice as well

duskel 2020-04-22 15:32

The game seems cool but it's hard to understand without a tutorial :c

dedjo0 2020-04-22 15:53

A lovely game with good feels, great job and glory to coffee

adriankrawczyk 2020-04-23 07:57

great artstyle tho

yoshify 2020-04-23 07:59

Love the art style in this, mechanics are difficult to grasp though. I'd recommend a tutorial :)

rhinofreak 2020-04-23 09:12

Out of the games I played so far, I played this one for the longest duration. It kept me going and there was a lot of mechanics in place. Really really fun, I love such types of games and I love the good 'ol dirty bean water!

Took me a while to figure out what I needed to do though. I kept clearing through weeks but there was no sort of feedback that how many weeks its going to be or if the coming week was any different in terms of difficulty, everything felt similar.

Other than that, I personally think it's a bit of a stretch to match this with the keep it alive theme personally, that's my only criticism.

k-baskakova 2020-04-24 10:04

My English is poor. But the game looks great. I played for a long time because it looks interesting! It’s a pity that I still don’t understand what to do :))))

I like tycoons and am glad to see one's on the game jam. Coffeetalism has a good balance and this is the most important in such games. I can stay alive for a long time (5-8 days) and never lose.

Do faces on mugs influence on something and why do some mugs have negative stats?

The art style ☕ and controls are very enjoyable.

I would like to have some progress between days (some story or cafe changes) and some dynamics elements (barista or life outside the cafe).

treesareop 2020-04-26 19:39

@uchiro Glad you enjoyed it :) The faces on the mugs are just artistic. Negative values are there to allow you to match a task exactly. You earn more progress if the added up numbers on a field match those of a task exactly ;) It was planned to have customers walk in and out of the cafe. But since it was an optionial feature we decided to focus on other things instead :)

@rhinofreak Yes, the theme was a stretch. We knew that but we decided to keep the idea anyway because it felt right. Since you play week for week trying not lose your business it kind of matches the theme. But i agree that this is not really communicated to the player. If we ever refine coffeetalism we will make sure to include some kind of story/tutorial which makes this clearer. :)

@k-baskakova @yoshify Yes this game demands a tutorial and we wanted to add one. But, you know, time was of the essence :) Glad you all enjoyed it anyway!

uchiro 2020-04-26 20:01

@treesareop I understand that I have to match numbers, but I didn't face with negative numbers in requests.

And only two things changed between rounds. They are weekly requests and money. Maybe I missed something.

This is how I played the game (Russian) https://www.twitch.tv/videos/602103309

treesareop 2020-04-27 10:52

@uchiro Well if you have a task with 1,0,0 and two mugs. The first mug with 1,1,0 and the second one with 0,-1,0. If you place them on the field and both their areas overlap the task you would geht exactly 1,0,0. Thanks for playing! :)

uchiro 2020-04-27 11:23

@treesareop Wow, I thought only 1 cup for 1 desk. Thank you for explanation!
