Wow, I was amazed by the art icons you made for each of the people you could resurrect! Well done and definitely an interesting concept for sure!

This game is very well made although I could not figure out how to make non-evil warriors. I really liked all the animations as well as the graphics. Overall this is a nice game!
Cool graphics but a little anti climaxing on the defeat screen.
@technodragon253 from the stories you can understand (sometimes), for good deeds performed by the character in life or not (then evil). You can also assemble a squad of evil characters and this will also be correct
@svetoslav-godzhev Ahah, try to gather a stronger squad
Interesting concept. I liked the atmosphere and the film grain effects, it really set the mood.I recognized allot of the sounds from skyrim.
@jakemchugh1 Skyrim? I didn't hear it :smile:
Pretty well polished game. if all the art was made in only 3 days, thats impressive. good mechanics, good theme. gameplay was a little bit unclear at first, but after figuring it out, it was satisfying.
@virtuaworlds We worked 66/72 hours
Really LOVED the concept, amazing icons and interesting backstory. This game really caught me for almost an hour to read as many stories I could. Great job.
This is a great idea and really well executed. There's a lot to understand, so thank you for putting out great tutorial content both on your page and in the game. I'm shocked I won on my first attempt, since I was just fiddling around through for the first half of assembling my team, but I got the hang of it near the end. I think I'm going to play again and see if I can get gold icons on all four. Thanks for sharing this!
Wow, that was all over the place in terms of my expectations and the results:
This is going to be the best game ever based on this starting screen. Like look at how much work they put into each character, I'm so pumped.
Oh, I won. hahahahahhaahha.....
So yeah, you did a great job with whats there, just I have no clue how to lose besides make a bad team.
So not really "fun" per-se, but dang the graphics and interactions and execution speed (for unity that's unheard of on this laptop) and ALL THOSE BACKSTORIES.
I really, really wanted to see these characters come to life, haha. Like the fearful guy that sucks in battle and both good and evil hate. And that politician that drank and partied before being completely sealed away making necromancy nearly impossible. That's what I call a *real* lawyer.
@nathan-wiles this is possible! I received))
really great mood and graphics. some of the english descriptions were a little tricky to understand. Great job overall!
@mikest thanks!
Very atmospheric, lots of references to read too :)
Would be extremely nice to see your squad fight, but even so a good job indeed!
Good artwork and you nailed the atmosphere.
This is a very solid game. I really liked the mood that the lighting created and the art and graphics were great. I failed the first time as my men ran away but wanted to come back and see i could make the most dispicable team(which kicked those bandit ass!). The stories on the Graves were interesting and really gave a sense of what the characters were. Nice game.
Cool game! I like the concept of it. The first part when you're building your squad is very intriguing and you can tell a lot of thought went into it. I wish the ending provided more details about the battle or why you won/lost.
It took a bit of work to get into, mainly because of a lack of an invert y-axis option (a problem I've encountered in a lot of these jam games tbh) and also because I had to quit and check the itch page to find out how to actually resurrect people (some on-screen prompt explaining that might have been helpful, maybe on the tab screen that explains the HUD). Once I got into it though it was very impressive. I love the attention to detail with the various people you can resurrect, and the art style and atmosphere are amazing. I think this is a serious accomplishment for only 72 hours, so well done!
The game is really cool ^^ I really love the world design and the ui. The tutorial was also so cool :) The idea behind this game was pretty promising and also was very good. I think it would have been nice to see at the end, how good my squad was fighting, since at the end I didn't actually get to see anything. It would be great, if you could finish this game some day ^^ Also it was very atmospheric. Good Job :)
Really nice game with really nteresting concept.
The visuals and the mood is excellent. It's an interesting idea, and I enjoyed reading the backstories and figuring out what effect they would have.
Yay, I won! :D Well, in the end, I felt like I've just played a complete, polished, released game. Seriously, this was really fun, and I would love to play some more! Please release it. The audio was on point in my opinion, as the graphics. No complaints there. I enjoyed and had a laugh at the references from other games / movies :D Well done! As the others, I support the idea of adding something to the end, maybe to be able to fight or watch the squad fight. But really, really amazing game!
I just don't get this game. I like the style and the idea so I played it, but I have played twice and I lost in both of those.
The first time I recruited randomly so I can get why did I lose, but for the second time I carefully read the graves and recruited only people that was mentioned to be a warrior, a hero, an archer, and avoided weaklings like a lawyer and a stundent. I even had the first 3 icons at yellow, which is supposed to be good, but the 4th one at red. I thought I was doing great but still lost:

Why is yelow-yellow-yellow-red not enough to win a damn battle? :sob:
@carlix If morale is low, your squad will escape. Morale depends on the number of cowards in the team and the ratio of good/evil characters in your team. If they are equal in your team, then it is considered that the two halves of the team are not compatible with each other and you lose. I hope I've made the situation a little clearer
I followed your advice and tried to go for good characters. Recruited everything that seemed to be lawful, and got all four icons yellow. I managed to win, yay!

It would have been cool watching my guys fighting, but the important thing is that I won. Thanks a lot for your game and your advice to beat it :smile:
Excellent work! The selection process of a necromancer is a really important step. Loved the atention to details. Missed the fight tho. Congratulations!
@carlix Thank you, pal)
really liked the overall style and trying to use your judgement as to who to raise from the dead. Would have been really good to actually see the battle afterwards even if in a textual form like old-school 80s/90s RPGs (e.g. how the various people interacted and coped with the battle)
@amkingtrp good idea!
I really like the concept of the game. There is no light and no dark, praise the black god Ophelia.
Nice concept and beautiful visuals, well done !
Great concept and very nice graphics! Excellent use of the theme and very original.
My evil team defeated enemy, hooray! Would be awesome to somehow see the difference of defeating enemy with good or evil team, it would make the choice matter even more. Anyway that is one of my favourite entries! The level of detail you put into art and writing is astonishing. It was well balanced, easy to understand and very fun to play! Great job!
Such a great design and so many drawings! The atmosphere is on point and you spend so much time for each and every detail of the world and especially the characters! Great entry and good luck with Ludum Dare!
Coolio! Really good job, truly! The concept was interesting, mechanics were clean, and even if it wasn't necessarily "fun" per-se, it was still technically sound. Great work!
nice atmosphere. It can use some guiding though
@despdair Unfortunately, we did not have time to add tutorial in the allotted time. Was engaged in polishing a mechanics.
I like the concept of completing army by reading who they were, nice job!
I really like your idea for the theme. I really had fun trying to gather companions. Also the atmosphere was great. Great entry!
Приятно видеть здесь русскоязычных товарищей с хорошими проектами! :)
@dubdisk Ахах, спасибо)) Все ждали, когда нас русскоязычные заметят)
Hello, i like your game, nice graphics. I'm a programmer looking for a graphic designer or a team to join and maybe work on new games, are you interested? email:m.shahiri.m@gmail.com my LudumDare Game: Social Distancing For Ladybugs
Very impressive graphically I must say. I enjoyed my time playing but I wished I could throw a few punches at the bandits or something and participate in combat a little more. If you wanted to expand on the game a little more, maybe adding some dialogue lines to the combat section would be cool. Something that relates to who you chose like "John sinks an arrow directly into a bandit," or "Darrel is disturbed by how Gillens is being so brutal and is caught off guard."
Good work overall!
Good atmospheric experiment, excellent sound, musiс. A LOT of perfect art. В общем, молодцы ребята, вы крутые. Единственное, чего не хватает - топора у Раскольникова.
@nobongo good idea, thanks!
@alexascher ахах, согласен)
Have played a few times- first on web, without reading any grave stones. Realized I could do that and downloaded the windows version. Interesting- the mix of characters. Not quite sure how to form the "best" team, but I soldiered on- the graphic style is so cool and the audio creates a chilling mood. Love the digging mechanic- also, the art inside the graves is so cool. Accidentally hit ESC and quit the game- went back to web. Still not sure what combination of knaves and heroes might fit best together- I must have taken too long, after awhile, the WebGL crashed and I will read through the comments above and try .exe again. Really cool mood and story, and the necromancer is a great character! Would love a bit more of the battle at the end- even if only sound effects- something to stretch out the tension a little longer. Will you work on this anymore after the jam? Either way, thank you for the game!
edit: After reading the comments- I will try again later. Again, so cool!
@joemid Comments like yours motivate us to keep working. Thank you for playing!
Great design, and so much great art! Fantastic job!
Simple, smooth and very polished. Well done!
I liked that you could read the grave inscriptions and the concept is really cool! Gathering the army felt satisfying. The very close up viewpoint didn't feel all that great to me - I found myself wishing I could zoom out a little.
Great atmosphere and mood. It was fun inspecting all the graves and reading all the stories about the occupants. My only problem is I found it too hard to get a team of non-evil warriors. Sometimes I would revive someone who seemed totally find only for them to ruin my team's moral.
