Man I really loved This! so simple with the graphics but their silly faces as you squished them made me laugh. wasnt expecting the upgrades so was a nice touch. well done I can see this been really fun on the phone (which its obviously made for.

I love the style, music and animations it all fits together so perfectly! I also really liked the gameplay and how you could upgrade different aspects of it. Reminds me a lot of the hopeless series :)

A fun little game! After playing it on my computer I made sure to play it on a phone too. I feel like the difficulty ramps up really fast for me. I couldn't clear one of the waves.

Very nice use of effects like the screenshake, sound effects, and coins popping out. Definitely a fun experience!

Ridiculously addictive! Just spent at least 20 minutes playing this and now my arm aches from spam clicking... Cute graphics and great animations. Both the audio feedback and visual feedback are great making it very immersive and fun. I liked the upgrades although I was sad that I spent all those coins on the last one and never knew what it did  Only criticism I could possibly think of would be to randomise the movement a little more and keep thm constantly moving. Once I got down to one piece of cake, it was really easy to keep it on screen since I knew which Sleems not to kill to carry it back to the middle. Because of this, I managed to get through waves 15-22 purely from guiding the cake around the screen and spam clicking all the stationary Sleems. Adding randomisation would make this more difficult and the Sleems continuing to move would make it harder to spot where the final piece is. Absolutely amazing game though and incredibly impressive for a solo effort from scratch! Has the scope to be expanded as well with more upgrades and enemies and possibly variations with the waves like boss waves. Awesome game! Really loved it! Well done! Wonder if anyone can beat my longest run? Save the Cake.png

Thank you soo much! I never thought anyone would get that far. x) All the balancing was made on a mathmatical whim, so it's great to see that you can actually progress to this extent. Some notes: * I have to admit, the "???" powerup is just a money sink that does nothing. xD Had to scratch a rather complex power here (that allowed you to place bombs) but didn't want to ruin the UI layout. * Yes you can strategically not target certain Sleems so they will carry the cake back. I figured it is a good "error" to keep in the game because it makes the player feel like he "found a trick to win easily". I guess you could say it's a mechanic the player has to learn to become good at the game. * Max Wave is 29 if you beat that I'll definitely be amazed. Couldn't do it myself. * A lot of additional enemies were scratched due to time and because I wanted to focus on delivering a robust game. Examples: * Summoner Sleem: Walks into view, then stops. Summons a bunch of smaller Sleems directly on the cake if not defeated in time. * Huge Sleem (Boss): Camera zooms out and you see a the Huge Boss coming in with a lot of health. * Pufferfish Sleem: Cant be hurt when he has his thorns out. * Orange Sleem: If a Red Sleem (the quick ones) touches a Yellow Sleem (the strong ones) by accident they merge into a Orange Sleem who is quick and strong. * Boost Sleem: Stops walking in certain intervals to cast a boosts on other Sleems (health or speed). * ...and a lot more

I might expand the game into an actual app if it's well recieved. :)

That was awesome! I really love games that start slow but absolutely escalate over time.

Spent almost 10 minutes on wave 29 before I lost and now I can't feel my index finger anymore but it was totally worth it.

The only problem I had - as I played on pc and not mobile - was that I lost sight of my cursor about half the time on later waves. Not that it was a problem at all since there weren't any free spaces without enemies left anyways. But changing the cursor to some icon with an easily noticeable color (e.g. red or pink) on top of all those white sleems would help very much.

Very good entry!

I loved the music/sfx. The difficulty ramped up at a really good pace. the sprites were cute, loved the variation of the sleems, especially liked the design of the ones that start out invisible. also liked how they drop the slices they are running away with when clicked, made the game more thrilling having multiple pieces of cake to pay attention to. great job!

Awesome game, lots of fun and the visuals are simple and cute. The difficulty ramps up really well and I ended up having to use my touchscreen since my mouse just wasn't face enough to squish all the ghosts! Only issue was that lots of ghosts getting squished peaks the audio out but otherwise a really fun and clever game!

This was a really addicting game! Even though it's a pretty simple concept, the gameplay was really fun, and the presentation was really well done. I did abuse the behavior of the sleems carrying the cake a lot though, hah.

I love this clicker tower defense and the progression with waves. Specially the part that cake broke in pieces and just fly away. Congratz is superr addictive!

lorwon 2020-04-23 11:54

Super fun and very impressive for a first ludum.

sheepycrunch 2020-04-23 12:20

This is surely enjoyable! Cake pieces idea is so adorable and funny. I love it!

karenfarah 2020-04-23 19:37

Loved it! It's kinda addictive hahah so adorable!!

eldogg 2020-04-23 19:54

YES this was some real arcade fun. Very satisfying gameplay. The sounds and reactions to clicking were great. I like the progression of the enemies as you go on and the effects when you kill them. Plus them actually taking bits of the cake rather than it just disappear was a really nice touch.

Piece of Cake !!! I beat the game !!! And my LeftClick finger too ^^

Man... more than 10mins of Crazy clicking on lvl29 and no more enemies, no lvl30, no end, just the one piece of cake left... :sob:

If it didn't hurt :fire: so much :fire: , right now I do it again

So simple and so addictive ! GG guys !

memoryfloater 2020-04-23 21:08

Wow @neuronezero !! I was super impressed to see that! I did give you and your game a shout out on the feed to pay my respects. Thank you and everyone else for playing and enjoying the game. :)

joemid 2020-04-23 21:29

Ooo thooose Sleeeeems.

dummydojo 2020-04-23 21:47

Gameplay and music were great! Really addictive. I just felt like the difficulty spiked too hard and fast sometimes where it became impossible without buying the right upgrades. I also found the way that the ghosts took the cake back a bit weird. It seemed like the strat is to allow a ghost who had a long distance to walk to steal the cake as I killed the other ones. Solid entry! Good job.

offz 2020-04-24 00:36

Very nice and addicting gameplay loop, and the soundtrack never gets old. I would type more but I think my finger is dying.

molpe 2020-04-27 21:09

great little game!

exilegl 2020-05-04 22:25

I like how you can continue on after death and spend points for your 'retry' - keeps things exciting and prolongs gameplay. It's really fun to keep slaughtering ghosts and improving yourself. I think a more polished version of this could be really awesome if you wanted to keep developing it. Perhaps there could be something showing your range, like a circle around the area when you click? On wave 16 so far :)
