Really enjoyed the game, like the idea of it almost being a tower defense style game as well as having to control the player to get resources. Good work!

Whoa, you're art is very pleasing to look at! I love the opening cutscene! It's cool to see a turn based tactical game on a game jam!
Love the art. Also, the game played well. I'm a fan of tactical and turn-based games, so I jumped right in and had a great time. I abandoned unit 21 and found a mine. I kind of felt bad, but hey, I got away and lived happily ever after in my underground dwarf fortress.
Nice art, currently didn't really have the mental capacity to go through tutorial, but that didn't stop me from walking around and having fun! Robot shooting sound was a bit jarring though, might want to do something milder since it is one of the most repeating sounds in the game. Also some clear popup listing of what I gathered from a house might do well to make visiting houses more compelling.
Wow that intro is awesome! Tutorial is a bit nerdy, but the gameplay was lucid and fun! I wish I could see enemies range though.
Here is my playthrough:

Well done good polished entry... Just kidding :) I like the art, I like the story. Gameplay is smooth enough, but it feels like I never go far away from robot - it is too dangerous. On big maps with many enemies I usually make 2-3 steps around to gather something and then take off. I would like to have more stealth mechanics here, but I'm not sure what enemies see and have no way to distract them. Anyway I was able to win. Good luck!
Wow you managed to add a lot! its an awesome game, great art and sounds.
All in All, amazing entry, really underrated. This game is insanely polished and well done. Definitely needs more ratings

Yeah, I survived! Really cool game, I love the graphics and the story, I think your game only lacks of music to fit its mood.
Well done!
It's hard :) or I'm not good at this ;) But I love graphics.
**Aesthetic: ** Loved the art style, really unique and the intro cutscene looked great. Sound effects were nice, could have done with some ambient noise or music though.
**Mechanics: ** The big wave of enemies that spawns towards the end of each level is a great mechanic for keeping you on your toes, but it took me a few resets to realize there was a message/indicator the turn before this happens - would recommend adding some sort of visual indication as well.
A few of the mechanics (like enemy detection range and the ability to hide within houses) could do with a tutorial since I didn't realize they existed until re-reading the game description mid-way through.
**Bugs: ** Had a few minor spawning issues (enemies spawn penned in by rocks so the level is way too easy, houses spawning on top of rocks so they're inaccessible) and thought I was dead on the last level but Unit 21 wouldn't drop below 1% health even when being bombarded by loads of the tank enemies. The game ran really well otherwise though.
**Overall: ** Overall this was super impressive, the core gameplay loop was fun, art and sound really sold it, and I liked the writing for Unit 21 nice job giving it some character. Excited to see where this goes.
Great job!
Love the intro sequence!
The gameplay was a bit confusing, I didn't see a clear objective immediately and I struggled at the start a bit.
A very nice little turn based game! Was really cool and liked the painted graphics. Simple and clear :) Wished there was some ambiance music, that would have been a nice addition :) good job!
It's absolutely astonishing! Both art and gameplay were top notch. It was extremely hard to figure out what i needed and could do even with tutorial, but that's totally fine with game jam games as for me. I will always take me time to try everything. After a while i figured what to do and game was absolutely fantastic. A lot of mechanics and ideas put together and polished. Very impressive you managed to do game this complicated (and this cool!) in such a short time! Congrats!
Small hints/feedback from me: 1. I think it would be wise to block possibility to play the game till we are done with reading tutorial. 2. I got stuck without possibility to move around, when i tried to deploy, while enemies were still on map (but it happened only once). 3. I couldn't understand while i sometimes could leave the map while being outside unit and sometimes not (maybe info was on a 'conversation' panel but i missed it) 4. Clickable parts of UI and text on the left panel could be more highlighted - for us players to know it is either important or clickable :)
@ulcius thank you for the great feedback! Ideally, I'd rather lay out levels and mechanics so they could be learned one at a time. But I never had enough time to implement that. There are some bugs as well, as you noticed in p. 2. As for 3, there was a big piece cut out when you manage how many people stay to fix the bot, and how many go forage. Right now it's always 50/50 - so if you have someone in your bot, you can leave.
The game is preeeeeeeeeeetty complete, it's just outstanding work for a jam, a lot of polish and sound FX makes the game even better. I didn't get why the movement of the player changed every turn between a square and a cross, maybe it's just me tho. Also got a little confusion with the gigant robot, as he has the squares in the floor too, I was always thinking "but why he can't move he shows everything!"
Overall a freaking great game, really complete, great work.
I really enjoyed this one; I love the hand-painted graphical style and the tactics/strategy (stratical would be the corporate-jargon term) of risking your party to rescue people/resources vs keeping the robot alive is really interesting to play. I ended up abandoning my party on lvl5 when I got greedy and tried to rescue one last group of people from the bottom of the map. As others have mentioned, I also got really confused about the movement of the party (sometimes a square, sometimes a cross).
Very nicely put together, mechanically! I wasn't quite getting what was going on with the SOS signals, or how to have more people out in the field. But very nice looking, and controls well.
Congratulations! Really impressive for a jam game! The art-style, concepty and quick- recalls Ashley Wood, and is really integrated well into the rest of the game. Smart move for a game jam and exudes a real confidence. I love how you created such a simple turn-based mechanic- reminds me of Advance Wars and Into the Breach, but with the tower defense angle- it was fun! Thanks so much for the game!
I love the art style, it's so soothing and soft looking. This is a really great jam game.
Very cool game! I found the turn-based resource collection across multiple levels to be a very compelling mechanic. The art was beautiful as well, giving the game a post-apocalyptic feel.
If I could change one thing, I would edit the tutorial to feed the player info in smaller doses. There are a lot of really cool things going on, but as a player I found it difficult to understand what all the changing numbers meant.
Overall, you've got a really fun game here. I could totally see myself playing over and over again to refine my strategy. Thank you so much for sharing and congrats on completing the jam!
Some quick thoughts:
- I'm not sure if there is a way to gather resources other than going to buildings. Also I didn't understand if different buildings gave you different things (eg: houses with SOS on top vs houses without).
- The mechanic of adding pressure if you take too long on a level by spawning more enemies is cool.
- Both the art and the story/set are really nice, and the intro images are awesome and get you into the mood and aesthetics of the game.
- If I could attack enemies with my character, I didn't find how, but it would be nice.
- I think it's lacking a visual indication of which resources you are getting when you get some, you have to be paying attention to the numbers on the margins.
- When I died, I got an "I advise we save people on board and leave" message but I didn't see how to do that (since engines were still cooling so I couldn't leave and didn't find a way to advance turns). Was that just the game over message? If it was I found it very confusing.
Great Game! It is to me one of the best entries. I have really enjoyed playing this game. One of those games that I can easily spend hours on it
Cool game! The art is really great, I liked the opening scene a lot!
