I think your download might be missing some DLLs --- I'm unable to run on Windows 10.

The .exe download doesn't seem to run properly for me
You need to included the DLL files listed here for games made in Love2d: https://love2d.org/wiki/Game_Distribution I was able to run it because I had love2d installed. Pretty decent text adventure game, the writing is pretty nice~
Updated it! Hope it runs properly now.
Very cool. I really like the integration of the theme. Sound design was simple but added a lot I think. The writing is great. Definitely grinned when the bell chimed (no spoilers here!)
Wow, it is a very dense game. You really make a lot of content for this. Congrats.
All fives in my opinion. Great game. Well written, very minimal, but sooo effective. You hooked me early and really got my imagination working all the way through to the fab payoff. Hard not to spoil. Love the sound design and use of theme. Thanks for the game!
Good idea, and a lot of content to go through ! Using a prophecy as the inevitable thing to delay is pretty neat
This game is simply brilliant in its simplicity! The idea of an inevitable prophecy fits the theme incredibly well and the source material was a perfect choice. Tanta stima!
Well written and the ambience was nicely integrated. Your take on the Oedipus story fit the theme really well, so well done!
I should say I wasn't a fan of the ending, though. You'd spent so long quite effectively building up an atmosphere through the use of sound and the choice of language, but the last line immediately pulled me out of it.
That was only thing I didn't like though, the rest was very enjoyable--good work!
Loved the ending quote XD I hadn't even considered the Oedipus myth, but it's a great fit for the theme, really inventive and clever.
The audio was nice and set the mood. The writing was good too :) I can't really say anthing about graphics, since... well it's a text adventure :P
Great interpretation of the theme!
had a blast going through all the different paths and the ending was funny even if a bit out of character! Nice work!
I'm really glad I noticed the hints that the different paths I was taking were leading up to something instead of simply being caught in a loop - I'd have regretted missing that ending. XD
Glad to see people still using Love2D, on that note - I switched to Godot for my game jam development a while back, but Love2D still has a special place in my heart, and it's nice seeing it used for unexpected things like a text adventure!
I loved how well this fit the theme. Well done!
Great game. There's something really interesting happening with the looping here - this take on Oedipus where he considers all of the different paths he can take and witnesses his fate corresponding to each one is a fascinating take on Oedipus. The overall storytelling here did a great job of feeling like the events that would happen in a play (great inspiration, of course!)
The bell that rings when restarting the loop was a nice audio touch, I quite liked that!
And of course, the ending was absolutely incredible. Like, that got me good.
I found the dialogue loop aesthetically pleasing, and the bgm/sound effects complemented the game well. I'm glad that other commenters mentioned an ending! I recursed once and assumed an infinite loop, and it was rewarding and amusing to find that there was a true ending after all.
My only gripe is the forced full-screen combined with lack of UI scaling made the game a little awkward to play on a large monitor, but /shrug I had fun!
One of the best, most innovative takes I've seen so far! A text adventure where you attempt to circumvent your prophecy :D The execution is done quite well too. I really like the poetic way the text is written! It fits in with the moody setting. I just wish (despite the time constraints) there was some music to accompany this moody dialogue, for then the game would truly be complete. Don't let that discourage you though- I *really* liked what I played! Good job.
Oh, I loved this! I have a fondness for Greek myth (as my own jam entries might suggest), and this sort of twisting reimagining was such a cool take! I really liked the way the text was formatted, it made me think of plays written in verse, which I suspect was intentional. The mood was so well done, and it felt natural to try again even knowing that fate is inevitable and before I realized that things change each time. And wow, that ending - I feel like I should be annoyed that it subverted the mood, but it was just too clever! Seriously, this might be my favorite entry that I've played so far, excellent work!
I loved it. I tried to avoid the "true" ending so I ended up repeating one of the two alternative endings, after which the game ended. Anyway it's an interesting twist on a well-known concept and the ending line was unexpected. Great job!
Very well done in terms of retellings. The writing is very good. The Oedipus myth is a really great fit for the theme. I also appreciate that you came up with a believable alternate ending for those of us that knew to avoid the man in the cart.
Great game, it was super interesting! I really liked your implementation of the text adventure ui, the font and so on. It was cool to explore all of the options and see how they all end in the same way even when you try to fight really hard to not end that way. I am not sure I liked the ending one liner, it felt a bit out of place after everything else, but otherwise it was really great. Good job!
A very clever twist on the Oedipus Rex myth. Even if you know how the original myth goes, and go out of your way to avoid it, it comes true anyway. A perfect take on the theme. I didn't play through every route, but from reading the comments there's apparently a true ending that happens if you do, so I guess I'll try that later and see what happens.
As a Greek I have to admit, the storytelling was quite pleasing. Well done!
Interesting take on the theme, a greek tradegy and prophecy are inevitable. It was an interesting experience.
this was really interesting! i really enjoy the exploration of choice in this environment, it's a cool way to interpret the theme and the source material. i think i would have enjoyed a bit more of the illusion of choice within the game itself, giving the player the opportunity to think that they were affecting the game could have made the realization that there is no choice that much more powerful. just an idea, i really did enjoy how you approached it. beyond that, i think this idea could be extended out in multiple ways, either in multiple genres or a slightly longer form story. well done!
