Nice and fun game! The folder-teleportation game mechanic is great.

Great fun ... perfect for when you can not take it anymore working. Congratulations!!

A little short but pretty cute. I liked the graphics and sounds and the leveldesign was pretty well. You should develop some more levels, I would certainly play this game.

Thanks for your cute entry

That was fun! You just have to add some music to make it really swing, I think. Everything controls quite smoothly, and is animated nicely, and the whole desktop aesthetic is visible in all details, like the 'help' and 'credits'. The whole teleport idea adds *just* enough variation to make it stand out a little bit (besides the polish).

Very small quibble: Note that the floating panels that describe the protagonists remain in a fixed place when switching to full-screen.

Nice game! I really liked the graphics, and the folder teleport mechanic, as others have said, is neat. Great job!

Very cute! Fun little game. I found the controls a little frustrating but I'd say you did much better than I did with making a platformer! I found the "Help" and "Team" buttons not working after I had started playing, at a couple points when I got stuck I started clicking around things and desktop widgets did not behave as expected. Another random suggestion I'd make is to have more variety in file names.

Very nice!

Fun platformer. It felt complete.

karln 2017-05-18 10:34

Oh I love this :) At first it was just a well-made platformer with a neat theme, but then I tried out the first "Games" folder and it made me smile.

I particularly like the jump physics. The way the character "pops" up into the air before going into a more traditional jump arc feels nice and responsive and the squash-and-stretch animations are satisfying too.

Would have been nice if you could have found time to create a lot more file and folder names that the game could choose from randomly, and given the folders their own names to make it more clear where teleporters will take you. But between that and the nice polished platforming experience you made, I'd take the platforming :)

When I was little I used to spend all day playing the little flash games people made on newgrounds and such. I really happy you managed to capture the charisma and charm of those games while retaining a very unique concept. :)

Excellent game! A great idea, you could probably find a bunch more ways a desktop could contain platformer gimmicks, this seems like a well of good ideas!

This game very quickly pulled a 180 turn on me. I was like "oh, look. It's just going to be a simple platformer where you get to A to B and what do you mean that the files drop and WHAT I JUST TELEPORTED OH BOY". The mechanics of the game suited the theme you set up in a way I could have not foreseen, and thus, I'm utterly impressed.

First of all, I love the presentation. I'm the art guy from our team's game, so I like to inspect what others did with theirs. While yours is basic, it's little wiggling and use of objects set up a cute and funny mood. The jiggling while jumping and the moving tentacles, plus the dying animation, are the sort of small details that give the player enough feedback for a more functional experience. Good job!

Again, I have to applaud the mechanics. Making use of the computer's innards to build a platformer game is something I had not seen yet. I've seen Tower Defenses and shooters, but not a platformer. Hence, why I got pleasantly surprised when I found out that there were mechanics beyond jumping and dodging. The use of teleportation was the best part of the game.

The last level of the game was, without a doubt, the best part. It turned the whole platformer into a puzzle, with satisfying action and a great execution of the mechanics of the game. It'd be very interesting to see where this project goes should you decide to further expand on this idea.

congratulations on making this game. I'm still astonished at how quickly it changed my expectations from "generic" to "genius". Our team, [Whales and Games](https://twitter.com/WhalesAndGames) would like to follow you on Twitter, if you happen to have an account there. We've been following other developers that we've commented on during this gamejam, since we're always looking forward to what you can come up with next. Cheers! :whale:

Great game & idea!

taylod05 2017-05-18 18:34

Such an awesome game! Love the theme and the folder teleportation idea :-)!

nathan 2017-05-18 19:46

This is a really fun little game. Really short but well made, very polished.

The folder mechanic was really well done - added an extra dimension and stopped it being just a generic platformer. I think it could use some music to really make it pop, but the graphics were great and sound effects worked perfectly.

Great job, well done!

csanyk 2017-05-19 01:37

At first I didn't think I was going to be impressed with it, but I really like the "folder icon warps you into window" mechanic. Otherwise, it's a bit crude, but that one idea was pretty fun. It'd be cool to see this a bit more refined -- the controls especially didn't feel tight or responsive to me. I'd try to jump, and couldn't get the timing right, and I don't think it's me (or my keyboard).

wheffle 2017-05-19 02:53

Really clever idea! I think the desktop theme could have been hammed up a bit more, but it was really good. I enjoyed it! The controls were smooth and precise. Nice job!

frodewin 2017-05-19 13:26

Nice take on the platformer theme! The folder warp is very innovative, you could have used more different files though. Carefully chosen the filenames could tell a story.

joemid 2017-05-20 18:55

Awesome! Sounds and feels like Q-bert to me! Love the simplicity, the gameplay, and the meta take on the concept! ^Love what @moski said! Played on mac safari- had trouble with jumping and the falling platforms seemed to drop before I landed. Got used to it and- Screen Shot 2017-05-20 at 1.52.58 PM.png Thanks for a great little game!!!
