Error 404 on Itch. Are you sure the link is correct and your game is published?
Sorry about that, first submission to itch. Should be public now.
I can't figure out how to move... After typing "move left 1" it just says invalid parameters.
@mao valid directions are north, east, south, and west. I'll add that do the description.
Okay! ..but now I'm stuck on crafting. Is there a list of recipes somewhere?
@mao Yup, I've added all valid words to the description, otherwise you can find everything through the help command. 'help' followed by any type of word or any valid word will give you more info.
Alright, finally got the hang of it!
Good implementation of the text adventure component, although some shorter names and aliases (like w for west) would make it a little easier. Comprehensive instructions on this type of game are very important, since it's difficult to experiment. I only managed to place some walls before zombies killed me  The combat surprised me with how it was clunky yet manageable.
The game is small, but it works pretty well.
how do i gather resources? i really dont get it. the enemies are really fast too, i couldn't outrun them.
yeah i get how to move around, but i can't do anything else, how do i mine the rocks? or trees? etc. :)
@jaime-paz-lopes, @brendan-toy You can gather with 'use' in a given direction. Using the proper tool will destroy resources faster.
@Wugbor ok I'll try again :)
@Wugbor ok so after learning how to do everything i managed to do some more stuff. however i would say my typing skill isn't great. adding the ability to use N for north would be good.. and also adding the words up left right down as... in the heat of the moment i kept mixing up east and west... lol i think being able to say "use fence north" would be better than "equip fence" "use north" similar for potions, if you've crafted one i think just saying "use potion" would be better than having to equip it first. probably not a problem at all if your faster at typing............... basically i'm asking for an easy mode aren't I.. lol ive adjusted my ratings accordingly now that i've managed to experience the gaem as intended :)
@brendan-toy you can leave out directions and it will default to north. If it helps, you can also specify how many of an action you want to perform. I considered adding aliases, but was running short on time and I had over-complicated the parser. If I decide to do any refining later on, those things will definitely be fixed. On the topic of difficulty, I was hoping players would relax during the first few minutes learning the mechanics then get swarmed by zombies and have a bit of a laugh as they flub the commands to defend themselves.
now i played it the right way. really nice game, i just think that the enemies could move slower, sometimes there are 3 or 4 walking towards me at the same time, it was hard to type everything
@Wugbor oh yeah the first few minutes were fine.... then panic set in very quickly lol
whats the longest everyone has survived? :) i managed almost 6 minutes...... i know.... i know... terrible lol
@brendan-toy Not sure, I have no leaderboards yet. I know my best time is right around 6 minutes though too, so I'd say that's pretty good. It doesn't take long to get overwhelmed.
Lasted 5 minutes, got caught out by enemies from the south and couldn't type quick enough haha. Great concept.
The first time I played I did not really get it, I tried all the commands and in about 2 minutes i understood. When the zombies came i died instantly though. I played to more times and manged to stay alive for 7 minutes. Fun game-play, innovative idea!! You should change east, west, north, south to up, down, left, right. Then it will become a little bit easier because you won't have to think about were you are moving. survived.png Thank you so much for this experience and good luck in the future! Have an awesome day, and I hope to see you in the next jam!

@dudum-lare Thanks for the feedback! Aliases are definitely something I would like to add, that seems to be a pretty common criticism.
this is super cool!i didn't think i would enjoy it at first, but after i understood what to do it was pretty fun. actually it's a great way to encourage faster typing, i really had to think about what i was doing once i got swarmed. nice job!
My English writings skills was not fast enough for this game, but the idea was simple and fun. Well done.
I think the idea is pretty good and I fully agree with @mao on shortening the names of the moving controls. I think having slower enemies or starting off with a default weapon would make the learning curve less steep. Overall a good game with really cute graphics!
Really hard game! but I think that was the point, a good example why you shouldn't do a survival game with commands hahah. Really well done tho. Lovely game and and cute simple art, I really enjoyed the concept even tho is was a challenge. Great job.
Wow. That was super stressful. Mavis Beacon Zombie Apocalypse! I got into a groove at about two minutes, but it was already to late. I crafted a sword by five minutes and they were soon feasting on my guts. Great little game- could be spread out with a tutorial for a more lasting experience. Congrats and thanks for the game!
I couldn't figure out how to break stuff to gain resources. It is a good idea that is in dire need of some sort of tutorial.
I thought this was an interesting idea, roguelikes and old text adventures mixed with more modern minecraft/survival mechanics. I agree with the others about the nitpicks with aliases, but I think the idea has potential! Nice work
