That was... certainly different. I never imagined I'd squaredance snowman to death.

Really nice idea, It's a bit too fast at the beginning though! Nice graphics and sfx!

I appear to be dying after the train whistle dance, but nothing seems clickable, not sure how to progress.

gregoryweir 2014-12-09 03:44

datachomper, you should be able to move around with the arrow keys after the train whistle dance. If not, something is broke.

really cool idea. Really drops you you in at the beginning though, and the dance names threw me off at first. Once I got the hang of it though it was an enjoyable experience

I can't seem to get the play button to work on the web version.

gregoryweir 2014-12-09 13:29

Kate, I think we've got some issues around streaming/preloading. I was able to wait a while and get the web player to start. We'll try and upload a fix tonight.

Bahaha, I really want to see a full-fledged square dancing game now, with animated fights and everything. You had some extraneous fluff in here but the core concept was rather fun!

killedbyapixel 2014-12-10 01:28

I didn't understand how to play very well. I think the initial tutorial would be less necessary if it was more obvious what to do when you are actually playing. I was able to explore and trigger the dance events but couldn't dance for shit. I tried to follow instructions but it was very unclear what to do and fast when the square dance was happening. The square dancing overlay in the lower right is a cool idea but ultimately I have no idea how to play.

This is so much fun! I love the flavor and playing this brought me back (I played in a bluegrass band when I was younger). I wasn't able to progress after the bit where the shotgun is unlocked, though. Is there more? Also, with every call for the snowman fight, I lost health even if I responded correctly...

I'd love to see a full, polished RPG in this style. Thank you for the game!

I got a 404 on this link : http://futureproofgames.com/static/unity/promenade/index.html

I will come back later to rate

gregoryweir 2014-12-10 02:25

We've fixed the loading issue. The web player should now play and the play button on it should work!

mase 2014-12-10 03:17

Going from the dancing parts to the "RPG" world map was a nice novelty.

The dialogue was amusing as well.

I vanquished the snowman.

gregoryweir 2014-12-10 04:24

Victory, there's a full ending; you should be able to follow the blue arrows to get there. Once you have the golden fiddle you can return home to your town.

soulgame 2014-12-11 13:25

Cool western background but I hardly understand what was the thing with the WHOOOOO hiding your input clue...

asobitech 2014-12-16 18:38

Surreal, squaredance adventure game. I like it.

rzuf 2014-12-18 13:07

Awesome game! I'd like to play a bigger version of this with a dance pad. :D
Right now it's a little too easy. :)

terrytheplatypus 2014-12-19 21:56

Very fun little game!
