Pretty chill game albeit short. Or maybe not challenging enough.

I think the game could be more fun if it take a more skill to be able to get to another world, then exploration would feel like a reward :D

I appreciate your feedback! With more time, I would have added enemies, keys+doors, items to collect such as stars for score and buffs to activate multijump... But 48h're short!

Woosh, got all planets \o/

shillingburg 2017-05-03 01:37

short but nice, i like the use of lighting on the planets. could definitely use some more challenge but its a good mario galaxy-esque start~

Nice non-game at this stage. Pretty fun to just hop between different planets. The lighting effect around the character makes the planet looks quite nice. Some of the planet design is quite cool (e.g. the one with the glowing tree). I didn't realised I can do jumps in the air and got confused for a bit. As the others said, would be better to have more content.

However, given the 48 hour time frame, what you did is already pretty good. Well done!

its a very chill game, and is so beauty. Maybe more gamplay will be great ^^

I enjoyed the atmosphere of this game. Is it a game? I hopped around from planets but didn't see any way to lose or win. Regardless, it was an enjoyable experience.

A nice little interactive experience :)

A cute and relaxing little game with adorable visuals and sounds. Not much in terms of gameplay, could potentially easily be extended with smaller, further away planets that you have to aim a little to hit. I enjoyed it, good job overall! (btw the score count or whatever it is at the bottom did not increment)

Nice visual, the lighting when you move around is pretty nice, and the different planets looks interesting for what they are. Of course some more game play would have been nice or some motivation/explanation to what you are doing would have been in place. Even though the controls are quite simple, you never tell/learn the player that he can double jump, this made me think I was stuck as I couldn't reach any more planets. I first though it was a bug because it kind of contradict the idea of charging your jump. Overall a nice little game.

Saw your post so I decided to help, as I too am in a situation of not enough votes. (pls help :P) I really liked the lighting and simple graphics which worked really well for this. The gravity when in between planets was a bit awkward but that also kinda added to the fun of the game. A bit more challenge (like maybe asteroids to avoid when going between planets or maybe moons to avoid around some if them.) would be nice but was an overall solid entry to a Ludum Dare.

The mechanics were pretty awkward. I'm not sure how much of it was intentional - I could jump repeatedly in mid air, and holding jump while moving made like a machine gun sound. The idea of a small world gravity game is cool, but this one needs more polish.

I missed the victory scene, but It's a funny game :)

terryg 2017-05-14 21:25

it is sort of hard to tell what your suppose to do but other than the a good game

nicolas-p-leme 2017-05-14 21:50

The art is really cute, and with some work I see a potential to a great little game. The lights and reflections are well done.

I think you could improve by using some particles on the landing and jumping. I really missed some king of quick tutorial for the player to learn the controls, the jump is not quite there in game feel terms. But that's what a gameJam is all about.

One last thing, background music could do magic in this kind of chill games. Great job !

- I like the camera positioning and the smooth zoom as the player jumps from planet to planet. - The audio works well at a lower volume. I had my speakers cranked up from another game, and the bursts at higher volume were a bit squeaky. My suggestion would be to polish the FX to make them a bit more soft and space-like. - The player's icon is cute and the solar system exploration via jump mechanic is fun.

Overall this is an incredibly relaxing game and a good use of the theme!

That falling into nothingness sound and animation got me ;)

It's a fun game/toy - as others said, it really could use more gameplay. Not necessarily content - just a challenge or obstacle to overcome.

For example, and to be constructive - you could limit the amount of jumps a player can do in the stage in total, the counter is already there.

That way, it would quickly become a puzzle - you've got 50 jumps total, visit all the planets, go!

Jumps could be more pronounced, or explained in the beginning not to confuse new players (I didn't have trouble, but I can see that others did)

That's the only hting I'm missing here, other than that it's fun and audiovisually pleasing, at least for me.

Cheers, and stay awesome!

The planetary glow is a nice effect. Gameplay felt like it was lacking, but hey, 48 hours isn't much time. I didn't really get the jumping mechanic at first, since it seems like you need to hold the jump button down to jump higher, then the jump happens when you release the key; some form of "jump power gauge" (sorry if you had one that I just missed) that appears under the character would help a lot with figuring out how the jumping mechanic works and for the visual feedback that pressing the jump key is doing something. Also, the character reminds me of Adipose from Dr. Who.

I love how gravity works for these little worlds. The game is nice looking and really fits the theme. Good job!
