LD38 — A Small World

A Small World by akai_0okami 2017-05-14T11:30:32Z

I think this could be cute and fun if you continue with it. I can see it integrated with a story where the requests start out "normal" and then get crazier as you continue with the game, with the player having to buy weird upgrades to fulfill a request. Hmmm ... what would an alien want in its snowglobe? :)

Great game! (even though I don't know chemistry). I think it would be a great practice / teaching tool with a few refinements, like drill-based levels (for instance, 10 puzzles with 2-3 connecting components for Level 1; another 10 puzzles with slightly more complicated connections in Level 2, etc.) I also think it would be interesting to add challenges. For instance, perhaps there is a partially formed connection with an objective at the bottom instead of the substance to make. Maybe the formed substance is an acid and the object is to create the correct connection to dilute it (with only one valid connection out of the three on the board). I could even see two games, with the first being drill-based for learning and memorising connections while the sequel is challenge-based and designed for understanding chemical reactions in context.

*You might already have these later in the game. I didn't play very far.

** As I said, I'm horrible at chemistry so my suggestions might not make sense for actually learning chemistry. That was written with a completely novice POV :)

Raven Delivery Service by DDRKirbyISQ 2017-05-01T05:13:32Z

Really fun game. I'm not sure if this was supposed to happen, but when a witch was gathering ingredients I couldn't move her. I wanted to try to gather resources from both piles at once but I couldn't.

End of a World by mikolak 2017-05-14T11:53:33Z

Very complete experience for something made in three days! This works by itself, but I could also see it as amini-game at the end of something else.

A lone colony on a small planet by makiki99 2017-05-07T10:27:10Z

Interesting concept. It reminds me of the map section of A Dark Room without the combat or the need to get back to base. A narrative would work well with this. An easy way to add one (should you choose to) is to just hide some lore in some of the terrain so that every once in a while, you find a spot that you can't build in, but you uncover a stone or monolith or something that tells you a bit more about the place and its history. That would also give people an incentive to explore the whole map once the mechanics are worked out and it gets a bit repetitive.

This was REALLY fun! It would be cool to have a few "bouncer" things in space that would fling you back (think pinball), but I like that getting out of orbit didn't make you lose your kittens. Also, I didn't notice if this was in there or not, but different kitties should have powers, like creating drag, making you lighter so you jump hihger, increasing gravity, etc. Wonderful game!

Very cute drawing app. I think, moving forward, it would be fun to see if you chose the names everyone else did or how many people you agreed with.

My Lonely Island by acid 2017-05-01T03:12:40Z

Interesting concept, but if you're going to get randomly attacked, I think there should be a way to build weapons right away rather than fortifications. The attackers can come from any side and there aren't enough rocks to fortify everything, so the ability to fight back would be much more useful.

I dont' think the voter Opt-Outs were working when I submitted, so basically the story is mine, but the art is public domain.

I was finally able to opt out of music and sound. I've also added some instructions, at AkirAssassin's suggestion.
