It took me a few rounds before I understood how to play, but after that it because a ton of fun.
In my opinion the most important thing visually for a game is that the graphics are coherent, something that you nailed, well done!
I like the idea, the execution and the fact that you have polished gameplay, visuals and audio. Very impressive in a compo game.
Really cool entry!

Hey, firstly I really liked the rogue-like movement system. It's not done often enough outside of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, in my opinion.
The graphics were basic, but cute (other than the nightmare, which was cool, but definitely not cute!) and the game was very challenging. I wasn't able to complete the level, although I have a feeling it's got something to do with the sliding floor tile? I'll give it another shot at some point and see if I can't work it out.
Anyway, good job and keep making games! :)
The game is very challenging and fun to play. I like the tile moving feature which gives the game +1 fun and thinking factor. The graphics looks nice and the audio goes well with it. Overall a very nice game to play. Keep it up!
Innovative concept. Was so weird to get into though, the controls really confused me. The hand painted art was funny.

@Windmill Games: Thanks for the detailed and comprehensive comment :).
@Skruffye, Swingularity: I also felt that the controls left a lot to be desired, but couldn't think of a more intuitive control scheme which only involves the keyboard. It's a shame, but it'll have to do.
@kamranwali: Thanks!
Neat concept. After you get past the learning curve for the control, its pretty fun.
Fun and challenging!

I really like the concept. The graphism are simple but works. Continue it! :)
Okay so I made it to level 4-- it is a very challenging (but fair) game.
Pros: Nice Aesthetic with the kid and the whole Child in Peril thing.
The shadow monster things really are terrifying. I mean CHRIST they move two spaces at a time.
Love that the best strategy (for me at least) seems to be to build a fort around you with furniture. Something I woulda totally done as a kid in a dark scary room.
Cons:
-Controls are not very intuitive at first. Its easy to make a mistake so you have to really think through every step and make sure your making the right thing (kid or tiles)
-The games can be so long and methodical that I often forget the strategy I learned at the beginning of a level to isolate myself
Suggestions:
- Add some creepy music
- maybe a power up that could reverse a move?
Question: Do you watch Extra Credits and is one of the stuffed animals on the kids floor their "Game" mascot?
Nice work, solid game.
Sorry Forgot to rate and its not letting me do that apparently without leaving a second comment, haha.

Wait! I couldn't really understand it. I can't move anything at all. I could get the stuffed animal below though.. Oh I guess hard game. Nevertheless a great story with one room theme a very good innovation!
Once i caught on to this It was a lot of fun. I like how the challenge kept ramping up and found myself determined to make it through to the end. It has a very Binding of Issac style of graphics which fits perfectly for a scared little boy.
I liked it! The mechanics were tough to grasp, but the act of planning the entire layout is actually pretty interesting. A fun game that I'd play for a long time.
Very clever game and very unique mix of gameplay. I am still not entirely sure if the tile mechanic is really adding a lot, but I still enjoyed it.
The art is also pretty nice.

A very unique and interesting puzzle mechanic! It took me some time to understand what was going on and the controls felt somewhat awkward, but once I got the idea I found the gameplay very interesting and fun! The game's really hard, too, which is a good thing imo since it's a deterministic puzzle game. Very good work! I hope you keep working on this :)

Innovation: Very original puzzle style. I've seen "Theseus and the Minotaur" style puzzles before, where the enemy moves 2 steps at a time, but it's a superficial similarity - the gameplay is completely different.
Fun: I enjoyed this game a lot. To begin with, I was really stumped. I blundered my way through the first level eventually. Starting with the second level I started to develop a strategy which I had working well by the final level: try to trap myself in a corner, then expand that corner a couple of tiles by adding material, then I can one by one move all the toys inside and the monsters can't do a thing.
Theme: Yes. A bedroom is one room of the house.
Graphics: The graphics makes it clear what is going on, although some of the objects seemed a little hastily drawn. (But who am I to talk.)
Audio: A bit bare bones - how about some music? Or some sound effects during the opening sequence?
Humor: Good, I enjoyed the "cutscenes"!
Mood: Good, it felt tense at times due to the stakes.
Overall: A clever game design and good levels. It felt enjoyable and rewarding to come up with a strategy.

It took me a few minutes to understand how to play. It's a clever mix of simple puzzle mechanics. It's seems very hard though (maybe I just suck at it). Congratulations on submitting something. Good job!
This game is good but I'm too stupid to play it
interesting game, but it was so hard for me to understand
Absolutely wonderful game! Admittedly, it did take me a little while to figure out what I was doing, but by the end of night one, my fort making was pretty good. The second night, I learned about actually moving furniture to a new row, and from there, the puzzle became finding out the quickest way to build a fort, which was fun in its own right. The third and fifth levels were the most difficult, but they were all super fun and figuring out how to keep the monsters away while bringing the stuffed animals to me was really cool. Also, those monsters were actually kind of terrifying, especially when one of them was blocking a row from moving and I would have to open my fort and let them get closer. This is a really amazing puzzle game, great job!

Neat game - I remember playing Labyrinth as a kid! I like the intro cutscene and the graphics!

Good job :-) very engaging, effects are good. Maybe do some work on the controls because it is not intuitive at all. I would say if the wall selection moves to the other side it should stay at the same x/y location as was before and more stuff like this. After I got over the controls the gameplay kept me going ?

Cool puzzle game and really challenging, levels get more and more difficult. Cutscenes remind me of The Binding of Isaac and overall atmosphere is in similar tone. Really fun concept and great execution.
