LD39 — Running out of Power

I'm an (nuclear) engineer! by zgragselus 2017-08-01T01:27:32Z

For Science! Good fun, very nicely presented, would explode again.

Player in the Dark by loyance 2017-07-31T18:02:21Z

Solid graphics and music really adds to the feel of the game. Tough in a few places, but feels rewarding to progress. Good stuff.

Reserve Battery by Vehem 2017-07-31T17:55:06Z

@jesus-gonzalez Thanks - noticed you edited the feedback and removed the suggestion. Was it because it could be considered critical? If so - don't worry about it - it's what we read the comments for and it was a valid idea for further development.

In truth, the game is a little "cut short" from what it could be (the last level of this version could easily be reversed to a "survive for X minutes" and the game continue after that) - mostly a lot of concepts being tried out to add some variety. Adding more "feel of progression/accomplishment" as you suggested is something I'll look into more.

Electric Energy Tycoon by Jesús González 2017-07-31T17:19:56Z

I like the graphic style - simple, but well suited to the game. Main mechanic is fun and just about challenging enough, though some of the things you suggested in the missing features would add a lot to the playtime I think. Enjoyed it - hope to see some more on it later.

Keep 'Em Alive! by mrerdalural 2017-08-02T13:59:40Z

Very nice twist on the theme, plus nicely illustrated Nurse vs Zombie shotgun-carnage - who could ask for more? Seriously considering a zombie-fueled generator for my future power needs.

Running on the Power of Love by nervous-composers 2017-08-02T13:49:12Z

Simple but really enjoyable - excellent choice of music to go with the concept and a novel take on the theme. Well executed - good work.

Greenville Deliveries by Fred Aberg 2017-07-31T18:44:21Z

Fun and surprisingly challenging at times - little bit tricky to work out which house to deliver too on certain layouts, but oddly addictive

Tricky balancing acting with a nice aesthetic, well presented. Nice work!

The devil works in an open space by Greet 2017-08-02T13:56:01Z

Beautiful graphics and enjoyable destruction. A few tweaks to hit detection/combat feedback would make this a solid foundation for a larger project/release at a later time - this is something that you should definitely consider working on further after the jam. Nice work.

Lights Out by Brandon Diaz 2017-07-31T16:49:48Z

Great aesthetic, nice puzzler - nice one.

Gradient Descent by Zelos 2017-07-31T18:07:57Z

One of those games you play and love, but can't quite explain why. The mechanics are simple and discovered by exploration (I must admit - I sat on the first room after unlocking the second, quite happily playing little tunes by grabbing orbs, rather than realizing what I was to do next). The sound design is amazing.

A Robot's Final Stand by Demandooda 2017-07-31T16:20:41Z

Congrats on finishing your first - you had a similar approach to the theme as me, but there's plenty here that I didn't do (which is giving me ideas for a later version of mine). Keep them coming - see you for LD40.

The Little Miner by vipbasil 2017-07-31T16:36:39Z

Enjoyable take on the theme - graphics are solid and controls well, though the background noise was a little distracting. Still fun though.

The Power Factory by Swifttech 2017-07-31T16:53:40Z

Nice play on the concept - good overall mechanic though seems a bit random sometimes when things break as to whether there's a way to fix it

Fear Of The Dark by ArttuK 2017-07-31T16:13:04Z

Solid graphics, decent use of atmospheric audio (with a bonus point for the Wilhelm scream at the end) and a good difficulty curve. Only suggestion I'd make is to adjust the night vision upgrade a little - after a couple of levels of that, you don't really need to illuminate anymore. Possibly have it extend the light range or have it reduce the rate at which the light uses energy? Fun in any case - do you plan to continue working on it?

Get Rich Efficiently by CobaltRisen 2017-08-02T14:03:48Z

Bit of a learning curve, but worth the time. A solid candidate for further development - would be popular with a niche-gaming crowd at the moment. Enjoyed it - nice work.

Bounty by Gurvan 2017-07-31T17:38:45Z

Congrats on releasing - got some nice solid mechanics here. Controls take a bit of getting used to and could take a bit of polish, but the core is solid and that's the point of a jam. Nice one.

Power Struggle by skyr 2017-07-31T18:49:34Z

A Game of Dice - I got oddly invested in my House's success and had a grudge reaction against those houses that sabotaged me. Definitely a good basis for further development here though not sure on a direction to suggest (the mechanic is pretty tight as it is, but I felt I wanted to do more)

Fading Points by SMILEY_4_ 2017-07-31T16:24:45Z

Minimalist, fun, kinda addictive. Mechanic is simple to understand but innovative and it gets quite tricky at times.

The Circuit by jchaplin 2017-07-31T17:59:46Z

Nice twist on the theme - "be the power and run away". Easy to pick up and play - tough enough to get a bit addictive - nice work.

Power - a puzzle game by hecticgrape 2017-08-02T13:52:04Z

Nice puzzler, smooth execution - enjoyed it overall.

Battery Low by krishnasism 2017-07-31T16:06:55Z

Nice work with the theme - I'd bounced the phone-battery concept around when it was announced but couldn't come up with an idea I liked. This is novel and just meta-enough to grab interest.

CowPow! by Quemagalletas 2017-07-31T16:56:36Z

Fun little game once you get used to the controls - 10/10 would lift cows again.
