Cool meta game concept, but execution is not at par. Looks like you have not tested it enough. The game is janky(as if it was controlled by accelerometer) even though my phone has a gyroscope. If it were not for the irritating shaky controls, it would have been a great game :slight_frown:
@freedom-is-slavery. It uses gyroscope. The in-game uses accelerometer. Do read the ## IMPORTANT part! :) You need to find the best orientation(works best when facing south on my phone). Yes, I would admit that the execution is not at par. Thank you for your feedback :)
Not bad, the graphics are good, the sounds not that much, for a solo developer is a great game
@jay-valencia Thank you very much for your feedback. :) Admit that I could've worked more on this, but college :( Thank you for playing and your words of encouragement. Would polish this game more and more.

Nice work with the theme - I'd bounced the phone-battery concept around when it was announced but couldn't come up with an idea I liked. This is novel and just meta-enough to grab interest.
@vehem Thank you so much for your beautiful words! I got this idea from my broken charger haha, and to charge I have to hold it and bend it and twist it to make it work. Thank you, again. Really means a lot. Keeps me going.
I like the idea of using the gyro, check out a way to restart the game in the direction of the gyro, maybe that can solve the problem.
Maybe this can help you: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/38691228/unity-gyroscope-reset-camera-positionlike-oculus-recenter-camera

Love meta game ! Sadly it's really too hard to play x) I don't know if it's my callibration or anything but i can't play properly the inside phone is really to hard to control on my phone !
Love the idea anyway, nice theme interpretation, it's metaaaaa !
@quemagalletas Thank you for the link. Have been looking to address the issue for a long time. I understand that asking the players to find the best orientation is quite rude and inconvinient. Will implement this in the game. Thank you.
@pauljs Do check the # IMPORTANT section! :) The game is calibrated to the world space. Therefore, you need to find the best calibration for your in-game-phone. For me, holding the phone facing south works best, and smooth

I managed to play using the south-facing tip. The concept is great but it seems that the controls are too sensitive and I find it really hard to plug the phone to the charger. Except from that, the graphics are really great and the music is nice too. Maybe try to put a little delay before the game really starts (3-5 seconds) to let the player understand how the phone reacts.
Good job!

**First of all:** PHONE WITHIN A PHONE! PHONECEPTION!!!!! Okay but more serious comment below **Overall game impression:** Another phone game :D I got an android lucky me. After playing this game I have to admit, this is possibly one of the most innovating game designs and ideas I've seen this time. This is soooo **squeal** COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! THIS IS SO FREAKING COOL! My god! this is so creative and coooooooooll! It was really fun to play a phone game on a phone that is actually a phone game itself O_O' It was really unique and super fun honestly. Very creative and cool. Good job!!
p.s. thanks a lot for playing my game and checking it out. Cheers
@jin47 point noted :) Will lower the sensitivity. Thank you for playing and for the valuable feedback. Won't be able to incorporate the delay right now(college :( ), but I will in the final version(if any).

It's a really unique concept. And within the time constraints, the result you have produced with an idea like this is good enough. The visuals are fine too. 😀👍
@vkmicro Thank you so much! Really means a lot! :D
@nikrt Thank you so much. Keeps me going :)
Well, i'm IOS. So much for that.

I love jamming on Android. A+ for meta-gaming and a silly idea. The game is a little tough due to the jank with the charger, but this is a game jam. This is the best themed game I've played so far.
Very unique and overall a good game, the music got fairly annoying but overall a good game. Best of luck!
As a fellow college solo-dev, I feel the pain of the missing day, but it's still cool nonetheless! The concept is cool, very relatable
@penguindon Awh man. Wish you could play it! :( nonetheless thanks for checking out the page!
@furkanfs Thank you very much!
@pbg do check out the ## IMPORTANT part. There are a few problems, yes. But if you follow the guide, it will become easier somewhat. Thank you though, for your kind words. :)
@roka-josh thank you very much! Sorry!! It's my first time making music. :P
@willvasco haha! Maybe someday we could team up ;P thank you very much though. means a lot!
Suggestion: You should have gone with touch controls for the inner game. Maybe post a post-LD version with smoother controls. That would make it really awesome
@freedom-is-slavery yes. I'll work on the controls :) I didn't get much time(due to college and stuff) but that's no excuse I know.
Thank you for your suggestions! I will keep your advice in mind and incorporate it in my game. Thank you very much. :D

It took we a while to get working, but it wasn't a waste of time. It is fun, unique and hard as hell. Game within a game concept worked out well, and it's probably the closest literal theme interpretation possible. I'd say your phone needs a new battery, but they're unchangeable these days.
It's unfortunate that it's a jam entry, but I understand your situation; myself, I couldn't do LD in April because dorm.
@starlight-glimmer-is-best-poney Firstly let me thank you for your patience. Really means a lot. I understand that asking the player to calibrate is rude and not okay. I'll fix this as soon as I can.
Anyhow. Thank you very much for the honest and beautiful review. I appreciate this honestly.
I'm really glad that I took part in LDJAM.
Haha, I'll change the battery when I release the Pro version ;)
Wow! the idea is very unique and interesting. good job!
@samuli-salonen thank you so much! :) Means a lot to me

cool game!!
@augusto Thank you so much :)
Great idea using a meta game, pretty fun. Would tweak the control a bit. Good Job!
@pedro-miranda yes I would tweak it. Now I have to do some college work therefore can't work on it. :( I really want to fix it, trust me. But thank you for your kind words and advice. Would keep it in mind. :)
This game looks so cool! I tried like heck, but I couldn't get it to calibrate on my Galaxy S5! >:( Loved the music!:D Wish I could play. Looks like fun to balance the battery and dodging the obstacles!
@prettylucky did you try what I wrote in the ##IMPORTANT part? Look south?
Anyway thank you. Do try and play if you could.

Nice idea, wish I had this idea. The only thing is that getting it synced with the in game phone was a little hard. You might try adding a reset gyro button on the main menu. Something with the rotation is a bit off you might try tweaking how much rotation is for how much real life rotation. I don't really know why, my guess is `transform.rotation = new Quaternion(Input.gyro.attitude.x,Input.gyro.attitude.y,Input.gyro.attitude.z,0);` should be something like `transform.rotation = Input.gyro.attitude;`. Also to make a reset button on the main menu I would make the code something like this `transform.rotation = Quaternion. Euler(Input.gyro.attitude. eulerAngles.x - Startx,Input.gyro.attitude. eulerAngles.y - Starty,Input.gyro.attitude. eulerAngles.z - Startz);` This should also make it so that you don't have to face south.
Edit: Code has not been tested. If you would like I would be happy to try and get it working better then make a pr on github for a post jam version.
@parkermc thanks for the suggestion. I'll try to incorporate your code when I get back home. Are you on git?(Obviously, yes.:P) I'd like to connect with you :) Thank you again. :D
I'd love your help. :D
The idea is amazing and the music is pretty nice too. The rotating feels a bit odd but after improving it as @parkermc said it will make a pretty good app in the mobile stores I think. Keep up the good work!
@daydreamerstudios thank you. Yes I'll fix my code asap. I really appreciate how you all are helping me through this. :) Really means a lot. I love this community.
@parkermc I tried your solution also added a few tweaks of my own. The rotations are working properly for either north/south(both your solution & w/ my tweaks). The rotations are getting flipped when pointing somewhere else. E.g.- x axis is becoming y and vice versa.
Interesting idea, the game is quite interesting, I enjoyed it. But the music is really bothersome. Keep working on this project, you do really good job!
Controlling two different things works much better as their own separate input systems. Maybe have a left and right cursor on the UI so you can use that to dodge stuff instead. Otherwise this is a really fun idea and I think you should push forward with it to make a cool little free game for the market place. Just refine the controls a bit and make some better music and your on the right path ;)
Good work man!

It was a very interesting game to play. I think it has a lot of potential and you should keep working on it after LD. Maybe adding touch controls The music is not that annoying and you can always turning off.
Good work!
@taira-domini, @phobos001, @hhsaez Thank you for your feedback.
Working on the gyroscopic controls. There seems to be a problem w/ the orientation. E.g.- the axes are getting flipped(I made some changes to the code to make it reset to the current orientation, will update it after some edits - still buggy controls. :( )
Trying to figure out the problem whenever I am getting some time.
Hey everyone, I added a text that shows the compass orientation. 0 means south, so the user won't have to manually search for the best direction. Tried to fix the controls, also follow what @parkermc and others said, but bugs keep popping up.
For the time being, I implemented this, and changed some controls related stuff. Hope this makes the experience easier. I will try and come up with a fix during the weekend.
Thank you all for your feedback and support :)
What a cool game, very nice to see such a good game made by 1 person, very impressive, I loved the graphs Different from what people said I did not think the song is bad, it a cool song, we have to consider that is a one man job, and it already pretty tough make a game by your own, you should be proud of your game, a cool game that's for sure. Congratulations !
Mate why are you **playing** with my worst fear (quite literally^^)! Nomophobia anyone?
Please play, rate and comment our game aswell: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/disaster-on-nebula-one
@svr-audio thank you. Coming from an 'audio' guy, this means a lot. Thank you so much. I will try to improve everything.:)
@rac-games, thank you for your feedback. Haha sorry for doing that :P YESSS. I WILL PLAY YOUR GAME NOW!!
it's pretty funny, and an original idea, i like it, cool entry! :D
Hey! Just tried to play your game, unfortunately mine and @vasco-rodrigues smartphones don't have gyroscope. The concept does seem interesting and out of the box. Also, the screen was cut on my smartphone, I couldn't read the whole text on the menu. I loved the fact that you included in-game controls for pausing and restarting, that's really cool :)
Cool idea love it.

Great polished game, good use of the theme and innovative. The use of the gyro is ambitious and quite original. Nice work, quite refreshing to see an entry like yours. Thank you :)
