Haha, this is fantastic. I am terrible at it, but I love that it exists.

Haha, this is fantastic. I am terrible at it, but I love that it exists.
The highest I got was 52 meters, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't supposed to. I accidentally launched myself from a seesaw structure. I love that that's a thing that can happen.
The controls are a bit wonky and you can get trapped under the objects pretty easily. A self-destruct button would be good - just add force to all objects proportional to distance to player to completely destroy the structure and open it up at the cost of... well destroying the structure.
I think I'd also use the arrow keys (left, right) for the launcher controls and A & D for the player. This would allow the player to use 2 hands - one for each player object.
Other than that? It's Tetris with polygons, what's not to love? Great work!
The game idea is okay, and I had fun playing it. The physics was a bit funky, but it was not too bad.

This would be a good update!
Laughed every time I was crushed under a heavy load or squished out the side. Awesome job!
Love it, super fun to play around with! The animal shapes reminded me of "Animal Upon Animal" (the physical game), which is awesome. :D
A lot of raw fun potential with this idea. Would have been nice if the player had a bit more weight so they could nudge things around a bit. Lack of polish (character sprite not being a capsule, White UI current height text was invisible against a white cloud) Kept me from rating higher. Nice work!
I love Turtles, I spend more time playing your game than making mine hahah
I reached 34m! Great idea, well done.

I agree with this idea, it would be much easier to play. :v:
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I totally agree with the update to the controls. I do intend to make that update available.. as soon as I figure out how to do that while complying with the rules of the compo. I also love the idea of having the ability to 'push' things away from the player with an explosive force. I may play around with that for a future update as well.
Great idea - I initially had thought of something like this too. For the controls issue I personally think that using the mouse to control the launcher is best (track mouse moving left and right, and click to launch the object). Sometimes it was a little bit hard to judge the size of objects, but the graphics are really well done!
Nice game. The wacky turtles and the pretty ducks are my favorite items.
I think separate controls for the player and launcher would really work better. The white text of the max height display can't be seen over white clouds, but that solves itself as you climb higher.
I had no clue what I was doing but was pretty fun. Interesting choices for things that drop.
Strange but funny game hahah. This is game is very interesting :D Kinda strange but fun to play :D
good fun little game. *clap clap clap*
The randomization of items is amazing :) Also I love that could are obstacles too. Well done!
Simple but fun! I liked trying to plan out how I wanted to structure my tower, only to have it inevitably fall apart because, well, it's *unstable* :) I smiled when I saw the little turtle pop out - love that programmer art! A reset button would be very welcome, given how easy it is to accidentally trap yourself. I think it also might be interesting to give the player the ability to freeze a single object, or maybe exert forces on the structure like some other have suggested. Overall it was fun little building game!
There was a surprising amount of depth here. Overall I had a good time so GJ. I liked the timed interactions of jumping from one object to another object while it's falling or as it's bouncing off a cloud. Sound/music could go a long way to give the objects personality as they impact or are spawned. I felt a little aimless other than climbing so some goals like a puzzle game might good. More constraints might make the game more rewarding. Time pressure for droppping the pieces might work like tetris (or it might be frustrating). Maybe limiting the number of pieces? Perhaps building first as a mode and then moving after you place your structure?
Nice stack-em-up game. I liked the variety of different items. On my screen, I couldn't see the current height because of a cloud. Not sure if there was an objective height I was trying to reach.
I am afraid of clouds!
This was a lot of fun! The choice of items was pretty funny.
This is a fun strategy climbing game where you decide where to place the objects and then you have to climb on them. You wouldnt think it sa strategy game and it sort of isnt but you have to decide where to drop the stuff and it matters a lot to how far up you can get. Having the dropping aspect be up to the player is a great idea and this was great work!
Nice game, I enjoyed it, but couldn't get over 12m though :expressionless: If the character could jump a bit higher, that would improve the experience a lot (that or a double jump). I like the idea mentioned above about making a force that would repel the objects from the player. Good job on your submission.
Love the turtles. I'm going through my vods for play & rate (you can hear my feedback as I rate and watch me play) and your game is here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1182727062
The turtle is amazing :) The concept is great, like maybe add some upgrades to pick up. Thanks for this! And I wish there was an audio!
