LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Well, that sounds fun! by Jani Nykanen 2021-05-06T01:10:33Z

I really like the game, god job! The art is really simple yet beautiful and effective. The controls are super intuitive and the ennemies are well design.

I don't have much more to say, honestly. I didn't manage to reach the bottom, I need some more training!

Under The End by chris-delta 2021-05-19T01:17:02Z

You did a really nice game here! It has so many tools and the digging mechanism worked so well. However I didn't manage to go really far, I was unable to build a new power station. I'm guessing I'm missing something obvious, don't know what though.

I really liked the ambiance of the game, really surreal and creepy. Nice job!

Falling apart by yetanother 2021-05-18T01:31:01Z

I really liked the atmosphere and the concept of the game. The graphics were so nice, I just wish there were some mucis or soudn effect!

Good job on your team, it was a really unique and interesting experience!

L.D. Noire: Down the Rabbit Hole by testuser 2021-05-13T02:16:08Z

What an interesting game! The concept was really innovative and fun, and those headlines were so cheesy!

The art style is a bit rough, and I had some difficulty to see eveything (let's that after some time, my board was just a giant red and green spaghetti plate). Also some images were out of the screen for me (the one that says "you're not quite there yet, keep looking" or something like that), so I was not sure what I did wrong.

Now I'm really curious to know who did that awful thing to Tony Hawk... I hope I will find the culprit one day! Good job :)

Masseuse you Loose by ColeSlaughter 2021-05-19T01:10:49Z

What a fun and original game, I loved it! It had a great variety of gameplay with all those massages to perform, and it was quite challenging. Acupentur was my favorite of all time!

Deep Blue by Jiri Hysek 2021-05-06T01:45:54Z

I really liked the game, such a cool ambiance! The graphics, the music and the sound design worked really well together, the lighting was stunning! I really enjoyed my dive, good job!

I had some trouble understanding when the fishes will attack me (did they spot me with my flashlight or something else?) but it didn't prevent me finishing the game.

Air-O-Space by zoarfy 2021-05-18T01:57:42Z

That was a unique game for sure! Sorting the aliens while breathing was a really innovative gameplay idea, I really liked the graphics, the music and ambiance, the aliens sound effects were really cute!

However, I just couldn't multitask at all xD so I didn't get really far into the game. I also had trouble understanding how breathing was suppose to work. I'm guessing the fact that the screen got darker and darker while my commandant (?) was talking to me at the beginnin didn't help. (I played on the web version, I don't know if it chages anything).

Good job on your entry!

Dig Dog! by Arvejeitor 2021-05-13T01:51:20Z

It was a fun game, really simple but addictive! The art style is cute, the music was nice, just a little too loud for me.

I don't have much suggestions to offer, just maybe to add more diversity in the levels? Like different kind of objects to grab, or maybe some ennemies along the way. But it's a really fine entry as it is, so good job!

UnderwOtter by pixelbug 2021-05-13T01:04:03Z

I had fun playing the game, although it was a bit challenging for me! I couldn't beat the game, I'm wondering if it's because I didn't choose the right order to buy the items.

The graphics were quite simple but I really liked the colors, so soft! The "fisherdragon" looked so nice too!

The sound effects were really effective, having a nice music while playing whould have been cool but I know that 48 hours is pretty short for that!

Overall it was a really nice entry, good job!

Bubbly by Kaish 2021-05-13T01:22:09Z

What a nice game! I really liked the graphics and music, it was really feating and gave a great mood to the whole game.

The difficulty was a bit high for me, I could get a score over 93! The fact that the spiders were following me accross plateforms was really tricky, I think it would work better if they stay at the same depth once they appear. Having to get your particules back each time you throw it was also a bit teadious.

Once again, a really nice game, just a bit too difficult for me. Good job on your team!

RogueRally by ComicSans 2021-05-13T00:40:09Z

I really enjoyed the game, the graphics were quite simple but pretty, and the controls were really intuitive.

I had some trouble seeing the grid sometimes, maybe making it brighter would have helped? It was also a bit tricky for me to differentiate destructible walls from other walls.

One thing that I would love to have is a way to tell how well we did on each level (how many turns it took us to complete the level, the optimal number of turns,...), although I understand it could be difficult to implement with random commands.

Overall it was a really nice game, good job on your team!

Deep Cover by Madbarron 2021-05-18T01:48:42Z

What a nice game, I loved it so much! The story was really interesting, the gameplay was nice and fun, and those graphics! I loved them! It reminded me of a table game.

Just a little thing, I found it a bit strange that the main character was a waiter in all the game, but oeverall it was a really nice game. Good job on the team!

ETA: the tutorial was really effective and simple, good job!

Mindcraft 2: Robe Squadron by JengaMang 2021-05-19T00:57:28Z

I like the idea, it's really innovative! I just had trouble get past 3 ir 4 followers, maybe my thougts weren't so deep after all ^^'

Madness Inc. by NoelOskar 2021-05-06T01:28:19Z

Nice entry! It was quite challenging for me since it's not really the kind of game I'm used to play, but I really enjoyed it!

The graphics and sound design are effective, turning the screen slightly in red when you have only one life left was a great idea!

Good job :)

PANEMUAN by etrealjunior 2021-05-06T03:26:16Z

What a sweet game, I really loved it! The art style was really nice, simple but effective and cute. The music was quite soft and calming, really fitting for the ambiance of the game.

I'm not sure I understood exactly what was the monster at the beginning that was chasing us, but I was really moved by the scene at the school. I'm glad I follow the flowers :)

Good job!

Snoopin Around by Madorly 2021-05-03T23:13:56Z

First of all, thank you very much for playing my game!

@kevin-s Yeah 48 hours is pretty tough, and it didn't help that I almost gave up the competition on saturday! I'm glad you liked the concept of the game, thank you for your kind words :)

@jani-nykanen I love how you phrased that :D Snoopin Around is definitly more a prototype than an actual game in its current state, so I'm happy you liked the idea at least!

@noeloskar Thank you so much for all your suggestions! I totally agree with you on the buttons, changing them would have improve the style of the game without costing me too much time, I wish I have thought of that on sunday evening... I'm not sure I understand what you mean about the Go to main menu button? But to be fair I didn't spend a very long time on that part of the UI, so it makes sense that it's confusing. I really want to keep working on that game, and adding some mini games seems like a great idea! I will think about what kind of actions I can add to it.

Snoopin Around by Madorly 2021-05-06T03:28:12Z

@onedozenbagels Thank you for playing my game! Sure, it looks more like a prototype than an actual game, but as you said I think it has all the basic elements to become something more. Feedback like yours are convincing me that I was right, so thank you for that!

Snoopin Around by Madorly 2021-05-13T02:22:47Z

Thank you both of you for playing my game!

@loyance Yeah I didn't protect the game correctly, it's pretty easy to just spam everything to get what you want lol. I need to improve that on the next version! I'm really happy that you think the game has potential, and that you liked my title :)

@euler-moises Merci beaucoup ! I hope I can make a longer game in the future. Ah I see, it's true that 30 seconds is pretty short, I will keep that in mind for my future build! Creating a game by yourself is really challenging but sooo satisfaying at the same time, you should definitly give it a try ;) And thank you for translating your comment to French, it's really appreciated!

Snoopin Around by Madorly 2021-05-18T01:12:00Z

Thank you so much for playing my game!

@pijamar I'm glad you liked the concept of the game, thank you so much for your kind words! I will definitly keep working on it and post some update on the Ludum Dare website, so stay tuned!

@yetanother Thank you for your suggestion, I didn't think about it but it could really add a lot of depth to the game!

@madbarron I'm glad you liked the timer idea! And you're right, having some names would definitly improve the story. I guess I just didn't have time to think about something clever, haha. Thank you very much!

@ryan-dotsikas I'm so glad you liked the key/password mechanism, I added it so late in the game development, lol. And I totally agree with you, the game definitly needs some SFX and music, I just ran out of time! I will think about it for the next version. Thank you so much for your feedback!

Snoopin Around by Madorly 2021-05-18T22:25:04Z

Thank you so much for playing my game, I'm so sorry I didn't have time to rate yours! I will still play them later in the evening and leave a comment though.

@kram Haha thank you very much!

@chris-delta Yeah the game is super short in its current state, I'm planning on adding more levels (and maybe more investigations) in the final version. I'm glad it kept you entertained and that the graphics were readable. Thank you for your feedback!

@coleslaughter Oh my, it was my first time actually seeing someone play my game outside of my relatives, it was kind of stressful :D I'm happy the silly eyes drew your attention, haha! I completly understand that having actual different rooms would have helped. I chose to focus on gameplay because I ran out of time, but I will definitly include that part of the developpement in the final version. Thank you guys for your feedback!

@arvejeitor Thank you so much!

Tropical Singer by Kevin S 2021-05-04T02:57:22Z

Nice adaptation of the theme, really innovative! It's also super impressive that you manage to make such a long rythm game all alone in 48 hours, you can be proud of yourself! I really like the landscape changing gradually as I progress through all the levels, such a nice touch :) The story was a bit silly, I loved it! Going through all the body parts was a bit confusing at first but it really emphasize the "going deeper" concept in my opinion, nice touch!

However, the music at the very beginning of the game was way too loud for me, and too high pitched :/ Also, the first levels were a bit too easy and/or repetitive to me, maybe you could change the pacing of the notes to make these levels more interesting? Having more and more notes was a great idea to increase difficulty, it got quite challenging for me in the last levels! I could not reach the end of the game though, it was getting too long for me D: (I didn't expect it to last this long, super impressive for a game jam game!), I went to the Left Kidney level I believe.

I really like the graphics (felt like vacation!), however I think the keys we had to press did not really match the style of the rest of the game. Maybe changing them to a more "pixellated" version could improve the consistency of your game? Also, I think it would be nice to add some features to add more dynamism during a level, like combo or bonuses, maybe? I'm not that familiar with rythm game in general, sorry I cannot be more precise!

Once again, good job on your entry :)

Depth of Memory by feralpoodles 2021-05-06T02:39:02Z

I loved your game so much! The puzzles were clever and I loved to search through the doctor's belongings. I didn't manage to unlock the phone or to get the answer to the bronze, silver and gold equation but I found all the memories so I'm really happy about it!

the music was quite discret but nice, and the graphics were pretty effective. Nice job!

Find The Page! by Rouge_dragon 2021-05-13T01:40:28Z

That was a really unexpected concept! It worked really well and was quite fun, good job!

Although I had a small problem on my first playtrough: the game started at the level 2, and I'm pretty it skipped another level (the one from Game Jam to Ludum Dare).

Apart from that, it was well executed, the timer and clicks limit were enough to make it challenging. Good job!

HELL deep is your love? by Villanelle 2021-05-06T03:01:29Z

I loved the game! It was quite challenging for me since it's not the kind of game I'm used to play but I had a really great time playing it!

The music was really nice, I liked the fact that it evolved with my progression in the game.

The art style was really beautiful, overall the game had a great visual and audio consistency!

I will try to reach the bottom of the hell pit next time, but once again you guys did an amazing job :)

Dahla's Journey by PiJaMar 2021-05-18T01:25:27Z

I loved your game so so much! The cutscene at the beginning was really intriguing, and what an ambiance!! The music is really effective, the graphics are beautiful.

I didn't unsderstand how the ennemis were supposed to move, I guess it was random? Either way, I managed to find some kind of strategy to progress through the levels, so that's fine for me!

I don't have much to suggest, you did a really fine job here, congrats!
