I like the game, and idea too. The breathing part is a bit weird and counter intuitive, i'd remove that and replace with an item you maybe can click and hold.

anaferus 2021-04-27 20:37

1290!Very fun game !. We walked by together! Ha, yes - we are cheaters! :D

jokerbomb 2021-04-27 20:43

This is really neat =). I definitely found myself sorting till I couldn't reliably see, then moving to the breathing portion. Definitely difficult to do both at once haha.

adjo 2021-04-27 20:45

It's a really fun game. The breathing is a unique element which also makes it really hard!

leekanarchism 2021-04-27 20:48

Interesting game! The idea of breathing deeper and deeper (sometimes) is a nice take :)

The challenge of multi-tasking breathing whilst blob-sorting is a nice idea, and the way you shake it up by changing the duration of the breathing helped the game to not get boring.

I did find pressing Q and P a bit tiring on the hands though -- I can understand the challenge, but I think I'd have preferred it if the keys were closer, or perhaps changed.

I managed to win first time with a score of 600, not sure if that's good! TBH I just did the purple ones as they were easiest :) (with a touchpad)

doot 2021-04-27 20:52

nice game!

I really like the gameplay, combining multiple elements and adding new stuff every now and then. Visuals are quite nice, and audio feedback sound goods and is well adapted to the game.

I had trouble with the placement of the breathing keys, I might have enjoyed the game a lot more with closer keys! also a small detail, the text is hard to read when you are in lack of oxygen, you can miss some information.

Great job and thanks for the game!

sequoiadolce 2021-04-27 20:52

I got 1390! This was great! the music was lit and the mood was nice! I thought the graphics were super super cute and it really made the game feel light but a lot of fun. I also love the interpretation of "deeper" with breathing deeply!

With having to worry about the breathing from the beginning I found that I paid almost no attention to any of the text in the top left corner, not because I didn't want to, but because I didn't feel like I could without risking not breathing correctly. Because of that when the yellow snake looking things came up I wasn't sure what they were or what I was supposed to do with them, if anything. I also felt like the P and Q keys were interesting choices for controls given how far apart they are.

With the breathing element if there was some way to match up the breathing with the tempo of the music that might give the player a way to still breath without having to necessarily only be looking at the breathing bar at the bottom.

Otherwise I thought this was a lot of fun and super lighthearted and incredibly cute and well made!

Seriously, I adored the music

ryan-dotsikas 2021-04-27 21:08

@sequoiadolce Thanks for the awesome feedback! Yea we definitely also found it was tough to both breathe and pay attention to the text messages, something we definitely would've refined given more time. And the choice for using P and Q was to try to make breathing tough and deliberate, but we may have gone too far haha :P matching breath timing with music tempo is a great idea though! Thanks!

wampy 2021-04-27 22:53

nice game sweet graphics ! i got 1710, thx to my girlfriend for help :p

glv-p 2021-04-28 18:15

Real cool game, interesting idea!

jlmast 2021-04-28 23:36

I'm really bad at multitasking, so you made it very difficult to me, haha! I love those little yellow aliens, cute! Bravo ! :)

dob 2021-04-29 05:36

This is really hard! I enjoyed it, though. Great graphics and music, and a cool concept. My only suggestion would be to make the dialogues move faster at the beginning (if they were skippable, I couldn't figure out how), and when you start to pass out, keep the text visible - it's no fun not being able to read the funny text, even if you are close to losing. I wasn't sure if leaving guys unprocessed was bad or not - I lost track of many of them, especially near the edges or when I blew it trying to drop them. Very fun idea, very creative, very nice work.

mlho7 2021-04-29 12:04

That disco music is super great, loved it ! (but we can't rate it so I assume it sadly is not from you). Anyway game is fun, great work.

handsomeshan 2021-04-29 12:28

didnt like this combination of mechanics

music is nice tho

juanv 2021-04-29 22:54

I really enjoy the game, the music is awesome and good. Something Is liked is the art of the game, is full of colors and is well-done. The mechanics are very original and fun. The buttons to breathe are very separated apart which made it harder to do it while playing, but I enjoy it.

nachodlv 2021-04-29 23:32

At first I didn't get why you choose so awkward controllers. Once I started playing I understood why. I like the combination of those two mechanics.

darqweful 2021-04-30 06:18

I love these kind of multitasking games and this was no exception, good work! I think it was just the right level of difficulty to make it fun. I couldn't really read the instruction text while doing everything so couldn't separate the yellow things but I managed to figure out how to separate the purple ones. There was no penalty for not sorting them all so it was fine in the end. Awesome game overall!

colapolka 2021-04-30 12:23

2080 at my second go, kinda proud of myself!

Super cool gameplay idea. My brain feels like being put in a blender, but I guess that's exactly what you were going for with this multitask game, right? lol Stressful but super fun. And I really dig the funky music.

Though If my hands were only a little bit smaller, I think I wouldn't have been able to properly press the breathing keys.

kr4ft3r 2021-04-30 12:53

Very nice. I am not a fan of being forced to multitask like this, but if the game is funny enough it can work out, and this is certainly funny and pretty. Though it gets too hard when you have to use the left hand to fend off from the dog who seems to want to eat the aliens.

Tools like lasers and especially crusher, and their emotional reactions to being processed are a very nice touch.

One thing that doesn't add to the fun is how hard it is to pay attention to text in upper left while doing the work, some voiceover would help tremendously. Still, text is funny so this game succeeds to score the most in humor department of all I played so far.

assertfailure 2021-04-30 22:45

Oof, the choice of Q and P for the breathing keys is quite tough. Otherwise, it's a neat little game and the sounds and art are amusing :D

fonics 2021-05-01 16:56

Very fun game, I've played a few of these frantic system management games this jam and they are some of the most fun even if the most stressful. The graphics are super clean and visually appealing, the colors pop and the creature designs are cute. The audio is nice and the controls while infuriatingly far apart do a great job of keeping you on your toes. Excellent entry!

glv-p 2021-05-01 17:06

Good concept, I really liked the game. The graphics are fun and the music is very nice.

roolow 2021-05-01 21:31

This was definitely a unique experience. There's some something resonating in the concept that you have to focus on breathing in the game, and the gameplay induces panic might lead to the same problem in the real world. Very "deep". I definitely felt my attention span going nuts, trying to process what I should be doing, bouncing my eyes between the aliens, the oxygen meter, and word bubble. I also loved the feel of laser cutting those blue blobs. Good stuff!

flashviper 2021-05-02 20:43

The breathing was kinda fast, so I had a hard time multitasking with that and the sorting. The art style is great though!

koolruz 2021-05-03 17:11

The graphics were cute, and the number of different items to juggle made for a frantic (in a good way) experience! I liked the ramp up over time - At first just breathing and sorting the aliens was pretty straightforward, but you quickly felt overwhelmed by how many different tasks you had to juggle. :)

Unfortunately, I couldn't play very long at all :( Hitting Q and P alternately was extremely uncomfortable for me (I had to hold my wrist at a very awkward angle to reach both keys), and I had to stop before injuring myself, as it was getting very painful. While I understand the intent behind spreading the keys apart was probably to add to the pile of things that the player was juggling, I think that making the player physically uncomfortable as part of the gameplay experience is a risky idea, because everyone has different physical tolerances, and you are limiting your potential audience.

kaleido 2021-05-04 22:46

Clever mechanic for the breathing. Congrats!

evn 2021-05-04 23:28

Super difficult but addicting! Also I couldn't figure out how to smoosh the Grunks at first but eventually figured it out. Maybe a soft pulsating glowing the first few times it's needed could help with that. Nice background music too, is that a Kraftwerk sample I hear?

smeljey 2021-05-04 23:49

The game is extremely fun. I love graphics and sounds. It's very weird, uncomfortable and distractive to hit 'Q' and 'P' buttons, but still I really enjoyed playing. Hard to stop playing this!

pxldev 2021-05-05 09:46

Nicely done!

treeboater 2021-05-05 09:55

Really clever game, nice! Was a little awkward to hover my hand sideways over P and Q (I can still feel my wrist as I type this) but overall it was a good challenge. Felt very polished too, nice job

lisichka 2021-05-05 11:15

ohohoho is something!

meta-link 2021-05-05 16:48

Fun game, very original ! I really like the little blobs sounds. Good job

fuzzy-lobster 2021-05-05 18:59

The addition of the breathing mechanic makes the game so much more than the sum of it's parts. Having to constantly split your attention makes the game feel very frantic in a way that really suits the narrative.

rubixnoob13 2021-05-06 03:47

The aliens are very cute, but I kept trying to focus on EVERYTHING and then freaking out when I missed a breathing click and yeah, it didn't go well for me.

It was fun, though :D

projectaroid 2021-05-06 23:35

Fun game. The look, sound, gameplay, and vibe of the game is really cool. I was a fun experience.

mizatorian 2021-05-07 09:18

With one hand on the mouse, and the other on the keyboard, the choice of P & Q letters is very weird. Too difficult to have two fingers on the keys. perhaps, Q and E might have made more sense. Got to 510 score. Thanks for making the game.

polkoii 2021-05-09 22:59

At first, I had a lot of anxiety sorting (the good kind!) and once I got used to it, it became a nice flow! The workspace to process the Blumbles and Grunks is a nice touch and I love the sound effects and responsiveness of the game! The music is jazzy and fits the anxiety-inducing gameplay! When looking at the controls, I was a bit sceptic about the Q and P keys but I think it works for the game! I was missing the keys a few times (maybe a key on the keyboard and right mouse button might work better) but it proved to be a fun challenge!

I got a score of 1140. Excellent work!

rob-parker 2021-05-10 09:19

This was a really fun game. I liked having to juggle processing aliens, sorting aliens & remembering to breathe! The game introduced the mechanics nicely and although the keys to breathe in and out where awkwardly apart i feel that was a really nice mechanic in the game and added a bit of extra challenge!

chrissx2 2021-05-12 07:39

Very interesting and cute looking game with catchy sounds/music! Q&P key combination was a little bit too punishing and i wish that extra challange was added in a different way :d

zaibakk 2021-05-12 08:25

Very good entry! I enjoyed to multitask breathing and working! Also great humor and graphics/sound! Maybe Q&P is a little uncomfortable as key inputs... but anyway, good job!

roka-josh 2021-05-12 08:44

Really fun and polished entry, just as things were getting manageable the squeeze mechanic was introduced and it got crazy. Really nice game, great job!

lereveur 2021-05-13 12:31

Cute and funny game, but… Why? Why a game that use mouse *and* two opposite keys on the keyboard? Nice arts and innovative concept anyways, so, good job!

neontropics 2021-05-15 14:41

Very nice graphics and general idea! And the little physics work great.

I don't know how deliberate this was but uh Q and P + mouse were very frustrating controls. Q+E would've worked so much better for a normal QWERTY keyboard. In the end I mostly died because it was super slow using Q+P to breath and still getting time and focus to use the mouse, so I'd just disregard the breathing to be able to move stuff around faster.

superjai 2021-05-17 20:19

Great idea! It was really fun having to maintain breathing while working. Excellent job!

madorly 2021-05-18 01:57

That was a unique game for sure! Sorting the aliens while breathing was a really innovative gameplay idea, I really liked the graphics, the music and ambiance, the aliens sound effects were really cute!

However, I just couldn't multitask at all xD so I didn't get really far into the game. I also had trouble understanding how breathing was suppose to work. I'm guessing the fact that the screen got darker and darker while my commandant (?) was talking to me at the beginnin didn't help. (I played on the web version, I don't know if it chages anything).

Good job on your entry!
