Very good, however at lower resolutions I wasn't able to see the corners of the map making it impossible to win

draperdanman 2017-12-05 06:29

woah this is hard! Fits the theme very well, it definitely got worse the more people that showed up!Those damn trolls made it quite the challenge! I love the fact that it's a one scene game! The animations on the people did a great job of giving the spheres personality. Great work finishing LDJam! <3 Screenshake!

Fun game that scales up with difficulty the longer you play. I really liked the sound effects and music. Also, the screen shake effect was cool too! :) Great job!

Loved the cutting edge graphics!Iliked the music and camera shake. The cool camera transition between the menu and the main game is very cool. Congrats!

Very good game. It's much challenging and I like it when checking people in the crowd. I'm addicted.

Even though the models were simplistic, it works! Nice game, fun to play. Interesting concept.

kromeboy 2017-12-06 00:56

A very nice concept and the basic graphics fit it perfectly: however I think that the "easy" level is way to hard. It may need a "casual" mode :-)

polyhatsteve 2017-12-06 01:21

Thanks for the kind comments, guys. I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

@subwooferx3 Thanks for the heads up, that never crossed my mind. It seems like the resolutions which aren't 16:9 are the problem. :O

@kromeboy I have gotten that feedback a couple of times, definitely going to experiment with an easier difficulty! It can be tough to judge how hard one's own game is. ^^

unlikelynomad 2017-12-06 01:30

Love all the animations and camera transitions. Feels really polished for what it is!

elfcirynn 2017-12-06 01:54

I think the simple graphics work really well for the game, I enjoyed the music, but maybe would have liked to see/hear some more audio cues!

thx1342 2017-12-06 11:47

A very nice concept and a game that can get very hectic very fast (which is always appreciated! ;))

zgragselus 2017-12-07 03:07

While the graphics were simple and conceptual, they were also absolutely clear. Even "easy" level takes quite long to beat though, so I didn't even finish that one.

Adding few more special powers (to attract more people, or silence opposition) could improve that.

Other than that I liked the concept, it was quite enjoyable.

Despite somewhat lackluster graphics, this is pretty fun. I like how you took the classic whack-a-mole mechanics and added a shade of complexity with the right click. Also think it works well with the theme. I would have made it more obvious which char was what, but that might have been part of the design.

Very well put together. One of the more fun ones I've come across so far :D

ashtrail 2017-12-08 01:40

Nice game ! It's actually quite fun and the music goes nicely with it.

I like the concept but I find the game a tad bit hard though. I'm thinking maybe a bit more feedback could help with that, perhaps a specific sound when an enemy pops, you'd still have to look for them. Also some kind of animation for the assassin when they are about to shoot so we can prioritize who to shoot first or just now if we are already screwed.

Anyway good work, it was fun to play it ! (even if I suck ^^")

(Sorry I took quite some time to play the game but I was quite busy these last few days)

Found some minor bugs, so just want to let you know if you didn't know already: * Bazooka audio didn't play sometimes when I killed an assassin. * I can right click, then quickly left click enemies to either banish or kill them without any repercussions.

It took me many tries, but once I got the hang of it, I got immersed into the flow of the game.

However, I was only able to beat easy mode. But it felt rewarding when I beat it, so high difficulty doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing.

I would prefer more colors, but I understand it might take away from the game because it might make it harder for the enemies to blend into the crowd if they stand out too much.

So in conclusion, this game has good game flow, is challenging but rewarding, and is fun to play.

Nicely polished little game. I thought the simple/clean graphics worked really well for this. I can't seem to beat it on easy.

tuomo 2017-12-09 10:15

Even the easy mode was too hard for me. Mostly because it’s really hard tell apart gunmen and trolls from growd. I guess that’s the idea but with monochrome colors and geometric shapes it’s a quite challenging task. Overall I still enjoyed your game, as whole it felt polished and well executed.

jk5000 2017-12-09 14:32

The idea is simple and fun, but the game gets hard really fast. The graphics is okay, but everything is nearly the same gray color. The music and sound effects is really great for this game. Overall a fine LD game. Well done.

fylipp 2017-12-10 22:44

I really enjoyed your simple and fun game. All in all it seems nice and polished.

2017-12-13 00:37

This is really well done! It's simple but very compelling and well executed - really hard though.

swagdorf 2017-12-13 01:11

Really cool game! Very difficult though, I don't think I was able to break above 25 spectators at all. The 3D menu becoming the game level was a very nice touch too. With some new models or a unique art direction or something, this would be something I'd definitely play, very nicely done!

randomhuman 2017-12-13 11:41

Tough game, but addictive! It would be really cool with some appropriate artwork for the crowd and the scene, but I can't fault the gameplay or the concept aside from the difficulty. On the issue of the difficulty, maybe having some way to recover from being hit or even to intercept shots before they reach the mayor would be good ways of reducing it while also introducing new ways of interacting with the game. Very well done overall!
