Fixed download links, thanks!
fun game!
The control is a little less responsive, overall good effort
It looks nice and I like the feel when I dash & kill. But there seems a problem here. The goal is to leave dungeon with as many gems as possible, and it seems there's a limit to how many I can carry, which once reached I get succumbed. So the only strategy is likely to be wait near the exit so that once I get close to the limit, I leave. but maybe I'm on the wrong way... :P

I thought the core game loop of exploring the cave and dashing through enemies was really satisfying and fun! I think it would have been more effective with free movement rather than tank controls, with the camera just trailing behind passively. Also, I exited the cave at the beginning and had to restart to play the game, but I wasn't sure how to end the game after actually playing it. The enemies didn't seem to hurt me, and I didn't actually realize the shiny items were collectibles at first. Really cool though, love the screen shake as well!
The core loop of dashing through enemies was really satisfying! Though like @arly mentioned, it appeared that enemies didn't hurt me? The tank controls were a little annoying, the rotation speed was a little high so it was hard to aim myself with the given control scheme. Having all the gems you collect follow/hover around you was awesome and visually clued the player into how much they had collected.
1348 gems, lolz. You know it's a ridiculous game when you're spamming the SHIFT key so hard that windows pops up the sticky key warning. You seem to be unable to use a keyboard correctly, would you like me to enable some special accessibility options?? Hilarious.
Whatever other people say about the game, I like it a lot :) the graphics, lighting and sounds feel just right. The gameplay is a bit repetitive but hey, it is a Ludum Dare after all and there is not really time to create hours of unique content so I think you have done a great job :)
Didn't understood what I had to do, I thought first that the gems were like other enemies, following me. Then I saw that my gems augmented when I walked on thos little flashing enemies, lol.
And I didn't se that I could dash until I looked at the jam commens ! It's probably because I don't pay attention, but that ability's well made, so maybe you could show a "Press XXX to XXX" at the start. Otherall, noice game (even if I was afraid I got lost forever at some time, lol)
Oh, and maybe you could ass arrow keys to controllers, because for keyboard users using other than WASD, it can quickly become harder to play !
I think the camera controls would have been better using a mouse, rather than A and D. Perhaps you could have had both?
I think some sound prompts are in order, so you hear when gems are stolen or you are slowed.
I like the mechanics. They're pretty solid and the dungeon is quite the maze. I got lost a couple of times, which is really cool. :)
First of all, "Shift" is not fully accurate - only "left shift" works, you can't use "right shift" I also had an issue with sticky keys pop-ups, from pressing "left shift" so much. But, the look and feel is good. I think you have created a coherent aesthetic with audio and visual. And, when you get down to 40%ish, man the player gets slow. I don't think there was enough bonus points for getting back to the end - it's not worth your while to even bother trying to go back there. Also, the way I played it, I never used the mouse or space. So, I only ended up playing with one hand - wasd and shift. Ended up with 353 points on my 3rd playthrough. Ok, hope that helps. Time to rate you now (and potentially diminish the effect of any spammy ratings).
@lautregars about the skills, it's written how they work at the start screen. Maybe people don't like to read them? or too much text? I guess in a normal game I would teach them one by one in a interactive tutorial, but no time for that in a jam xD.. Also, controller support would be really nice, completely forgot about it :| Thanks for the feedback!
@andreas-ragen-ayal I thought about the camera rotate with the mouse, but didn't had the time to implement, getting the keyboard inputs are so much easier, I think. About gems getting stolen and you being slowed, I should have put some fx or audio, but again, no time... The gems used to be bigger and you could see them being removed from you, but then I increase the rate they spawned and how much you could get, then I reduced their size and it became impossible to see anything xD. Glad you enjoyed the map! Thanks for the feedback!
@cubeeo yeah, I should've put Left-Shift, or coded them both. I didn't have problems with the Sticky keys because I knew in my head that I couldn't Dash more than once in at least a second, so I didn't spam it. Probably I should have used another key that wouldn't trigger these things. About the usability of the skills.. maybe I should reduce the cost or make them more useful to be worth using them along with the Dash. Thanks for the feedback!
It wasn't that the other "skills" weren't usable. I just didn't see the point in wasting gems. I was getting along fine without them.
I think I really needed an overlay with the control scheme. I had a hard time remembering what the different attacks would do. But this is a nice set of mechanics, good level of polish for LD. Good job!
