LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Jingle Bells Defense by Kyrv19 2017-12-06T20:32:15Z

Really great polish for the amount of time honestly!

I do think that you could've explored the theme better though. This year's hard because most games would adhere to it by virtue of getting harder as you go further in the game.

Phaeria's Mine by AVAVT 2017-12-08T00:25:22Z

Holy cow this was so good. Everything checked out, I had a ton of fun playing... When I finished I was left wanting for more. One little thing is that it didn't feel like the game was that challenging, and when I made a mistake (say didn't increase the salary by enough to defeat the enemies) it was very punishing. I'm not entirely sure how you'd balance that, but something that would make the difficulty more apparent by allowing the user to make more mistakes while making each mistake less punishing. That might improve my enjoyment of the game, but barely, it was already great. I'm very impressed.

Quantum's Rick by cortexdeveloper 2017-12-08T00:10:51Z

LOL this is great. I accidentally won the first time without really getting what I was doing. Then I purposely tried to fell and it made me laugh a lot. Thanks for making this <3

Npigs by 6smith 2017-12-05T04:20:12Z

Pretty great game, I zoned out and played it for 20min straight. Really love it.

Friends.OS by Rob White 2017-12-06T23:05:54Z

Super cool concept and well executed, honestly well done!

Heartless Jump by Nanda 2017-12-09T03:05:08Z

Wow this was such a great game in terms of level design. It felt really polished. I had a ton of fun.

Herding Cats: The 400th South Winchester Jr. Semi-Finals with Fiona Pennywhistle by Cercle 2017-12-05T08:17:12Z

The audio recordings were a blessing. Super funny and well put together. The puzzles were great too, though they didn't feel like they were going from least challenging to most challenging. I had a lot of trouble on the first 2-3 puzzles, then the rest felt much easier. Really good stuff!

Forgotten Machines by SaphireS 2017-12-05T04:00:17Z

Pretty fun game! I played it for a while and it definitely got crazy haha. It got to the point where the game wasn't smoothly anymore though :/

Oh no! Zombies! by Benjamin San Souci 2017-12-05T05:20:08Z

@6smith Oh noooo! We've had this random crash for a while, we have a hard time fixing it :/

I just submitted a fix! You should try it again, things get interesting beyond wave 4 :p

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Fading Memories by schmavery 2018-12-04T06:49:40Z

Really creative take on the theme! Brutally emotional.

Startup Simulator 2019 by Benjamin San Souci 2018-12-04T05:54:21Z

Thanks y'all! I think there are 120 different pieces of dialogue in the game... We basically spent our weekend writing :)

LD46 — Keep it alive

Abandoned by GRaAL 2020-05-06T03:59:36Z

Exciting to see another puzzle game with an interesting mechanic of keeping the monster alive. It was hard to figure out what you could do and how to win. The pathfinding of the monster wasn't what I expected.

The Glimmering Woods by Kyrio 2020-05-06T04:37:22Z

Oh man I wished it was longer! The graphics and sound were awesome, but it didn't feel that connected to the theme. Maybe if there was a time constraint on taking care of the animal, it'd connected the gameplay with the theme.

GhostVac by christina-antoinette-neofotistou 2020-05-06T04:54:34Z

Really awesome arcade game. I kinda wish this excited in real life. The boss was definitely much harder!

Blackbird by Rongo Matane 2020-05-06T04:22:27Z

Wow that was a pretty surreal experience. A bit of an emotional moment when the one child I fed flew away as the two others that I purposely neglected died in the nest.

For Ducks' Sake by GaryS 2020-05-06T04:44:14Z

This was super fun and challenging. One of my favorite games so far :) It left me wanting for me, like upgrades!

Perish alive by Lyrcaxis 2020-05-06T04:14:13Z

I had a lot of fun playing the game! Loved the game mechanics, it was fun to discover how to use the rooms and people effectively. Kinda weird that they're small children that you're using in your whale... The camera was a bit hard to navigate at times.

Leap Of Faith by ryan123rudder 2020-05-06T05:05:57Z

Pretty cool game, reminded me of kitten cannon, a classic. The graphics were fun :)

Bonsai by Literal Games 2020-05-06T03:48:33Z

Oh man, I really love the concept. I wish my hair was as cool as his. At first I was pretty stressed about the trees going beyond the points, but then I realized that the branch cutting tool could just always solve my problems. Then the game became much less of a rush between trees. I do wish it was easier to toggle between trees. Also the templates became hard to see because of the background and the trees all mixing together.

Feed the Fire by Benjamin123 2020-05-06T03:10:49Z

I thought the way you represent the HP was a cool idea. I wished I could use the arrow keys to shoot, since projectiles have a max range anyway.

FLOWER by ShivArt 2020-05-06T03:25:22Z

Really love the art and the music. I was able to figure out the tired mechanic fairly quickly, it felt intuitive. I wished the game had more challenges, like maybe having one extra mechanic relating the dangers of dying with the flower. It'd be interesting to have things that can kill the flower but not you, making it more important to protect.

Cthulhu: The Cult Must Not Die by LaserPanzerWal 2020-05-06T03:36:02Z

The graphics were awesome for an ldjam and the blood-spray animation was on point. The graphics really contributed to the mood! It was a bit unclear how I could avoid being hit by the attackers. It seemed like I'd accidentally cancel the attack by right clicking again too soon after.

Roadkill by JeanBis 2020-05-06T04:29:50Z

Drifting felt really awesome and being able to fling the AI into a wall was super satisfying. The hand was a very sudden ramp up in difficulty.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Jeff From Accounting by Almax 2018-04-27T19:35:51Z

Holy shit that was amazing. The idea is pure genius and the execution is masterful, I am in aw. I would _absolutely_ pay $20 for a game like this if it had a deeper story and character development. I'm amazed at the quality of the assets too. The gun is just so good. And the insanity of the corridors combined with the music... God I can't even

My Dear Farm by Benjamin San Souci 2018-04-24T20:35:40Z

@viktor-dedek Oh no! You're supposed to take the flower to the grave and also hit the action button to "inspect"

My Dear Farm by Benjamin San Souci 2018-04-24T21:06:40Z

@legavroche Thanks for kind words. The small chicks are pretty hilariously broken, we didn't get around to fixing their clipping through the barn.

My Dear Farm by Benjamin San Souci 2018-04-24T21:08:33Z

@tg1397 Oh noo! Can you expand a little about not being able to continue? You shouldn't need the "cutscene" for the monster to be present.

My Dear Farm by Benjamin San Souci 2018-04-24T21:56:35Z

@tg1397 Ooh that part, gotcha. Thanks for the feedback, will make a note :)
