Interesting game, although it took some time to understand its mechanics.

Really cool puzzle game! Movement is a little bit slow for me though.

Neat puzzle game that reminds me of some of those old games on windows machines. I like the sneaky aspect of it and wish the path of the creature was a bit more obvious before whistling.

👍Genre sort of between puzzle and strategy - very unique and interesting 👍Great use of theme 👎Movement is a bit slow

I really really enjoyed this game! I wasn't expecting to because of the graphics, but the gameplay is so solid and really fun. I didn't feel like the game cheated me at any point and the levels were challenging, but not frustratingly difficult. Sound is great, really falls into the background in a lovely way which sets the ton. Nice one!

Love the multiple endings!

Here is my playthrough:

What can I say, the mood is superb. And Even though you think your sprites are simple, they have unique style and aesthetic, which holds the mood even tighter. Levels were clever, some required quite unusual thinking, but nothing too hard that my tired brain couldn't handle - which is perfect.

Except for the ending =) I wasn't able to find the multiple endings by myself because I'm stupid =)

ben-newington 2020-04-22 09:33

I'm really impressed that you managed to make an entertaining and challenging puzzle game in 72 hours! The music and mood is awesome. If you ironed out the bugs and polished it up a little I'd pay good money for it. Well done :)

graal 2020-04-22 09:38

@ben-newington thanks for kind words. BTW, it is compo, so I had only 48 hours :). And actually I had less because I didn't want my kid to feel abandoned.

Is there any happy end where the two of us leave this place? I decided to sacrifice myself!

Really good game, it might be a bit to slow and the killing power of the creature might break some levels but the mechanics are great and the mood is also good! I love stealth games *-*

Well done!

graal 2020-04-22 11:26

@solah and I appreciate your choice.

No, there is no such happy ending in game. But there is a minor chance that if you left the creature in safe place and move hero out alone then behind the scenes the hero will be able to return back and find way to free creature out.

Nice puzz-geon (puzzle+dungeon get it? mwahahahahaha) :) But Godot for life!

patrickrmc 2020-04-22 20:47

I like the strategy of luring the enemies to the creatures line of sight so it can blast it! Very fun and unique from all the other Ludum Dare entries I've played so far! Congrats on finishing the game.

A godoter! <3 and it is a compo. Respect. This puzzle game is lovely. The creature is the moon ? Nice stuff you had the time to do different levels. And pretty challenging too. I didn't really like the two endings in which he has to die :( .. And he is too powerful with the laser beam. There is a bug in the last level, if you open the switch and immediately go into the door, you get stuck :( So couldn't see the last ending. Gameplay: I like the fact everyone around moves if you moved. But since you're the only player, it's a bit annoying that for every step you make you have to wait. I would like that everyone would move accordingly and immediately :D Thank you for your work <3

amkingtrp 2020-04-23 09:56

Enjoyed this one; plays like a stealth-roguelike. Agree with the other comments that the movement felt a bit slow (frustratingly so sometimes), but the overall concept and execution were great.

graal 2020-04-23 10:06

Yeah, movement speed was a mistake. I think it will be better to make all enemies move at once, not one after another. Fixing that now would be against rules, so I have to keep it as is. Will spend more time on playtests next time. Thanks for feedback!

mincho 2020-04-24 10:31

Interesting mechanics for a puzzle game, it did feel a bit confusing but not too confusing. Lovely aesthetics

splitpainter 2020-04-24 10:47

Good to see another Godot game! Kudos for multiple endings and for packing it up with the gameplay. Could be a bit faster, but the main elements are all here.

kaeveris 2020-04-24 17:25

Interesting mechanics, cool art! At the beginning the mechanics are not clear enough, at first I thought that the black balls are the creatures I can control

odeyalko 2020-04-25 09:46

Geood idea!

loveapplegames 2020-04-25 17:06

Very original entry! I had to figure out who is who, otherwise the game concept is clear. I like the sound. It's a pity the game moves so slowly.

ulcius 2020-04-27 13:41

Very interesting mechanics! It's extremely hard to create a sensible logic game on any game jam, but this one is very cool.It was hard to predict enemy movement before you got into its visibility area (at least for me) and I think that's for the plus. It makes playthroughs slightly different and more challenging, with still plenty of possibility to plan how to lure enemies. I liked this entry very much!

There is this bug though, that if i (as a yellow monster) get on the gate, before it's open i get stuck on it and can't move at all. I need to lose level at this point and try again.

graal 2020-04-27 21:59

@ulcius thank you!

Year, this is "known issue" with doors. Actually it must restart level automatically, but I didn't want to fix that in last moment - I was afraid I can break something else. So I introduced "restart level" button (R) instead :)

benjamin-san-souci 2020-05-06 03:59

Exciting to see another puzzle game with an interesting mechanic of keeping the monster alive. It was hard to figure out what you could do and how to win. The pathfinding of the monster wasn't what I expected.

graal 2020-05-08 12:19

BTW, I made post-LD version with better graphics, if you interested :) [Here it is](https://graal.itch.io/abandoned-3d)
