Amaaazing concept. Loved the art. Great use of the theme!
Very creative concept. This game was pretty fun, and I could imagine it being a blast. The only issue I had was I would have loved a faster pace and more difficulty. Sometimes monsters would collect around the fence, and the map was a bit big, which made it too easy to get away from enemies.
A bit easy, but its super well made. Love the graphics and how the flashlight reveals the monsters.
Interesting art style. I also liked how the flashlight reveals the enemies.
lol I love this concept. Always funny to combine horror with mundane activities like farm. visuals were cool, sound was fitting, and gameplay was fun and intuitive. Great work!
love the simplistic style, although i think he looks far too happy considering his farm is freekin haunted by some nasty ghosts..... and slenderman? haha. nice I had a little trouble placing the crops, kept over shooting the placement box but overall it was a nice walk in the dark :) would like to see it with the other features implemented :) great stuff.
Cool game with a nice graphic style. The music in the menu is nice and I was a bit disappointed that it stops when entering the game.
I found the game directly on itch.io and the description there lacks the hint to use E to plant and collect so it took me a few rounds to figure the gameplay out.
Awesome art style. The tall dude gave me a legit scare!
@Team Orange Pop Yea I agree about the pace, I didn't have much time to work on the game this jam, I wish I had more time to make the AI actually a threat.
@Brendan Toy LOL I plan to make him look more scared as time goes on, and I too would have issues placing crops sometimes, especially when facing sideways. The fix was on my todo list, and I just kept forgetting about it LOL
Hey I did something similar! Saw your post on Reddit. I really liked the reveal effect that the flashlight had, I wasn't expecting it so it spooked me a little when I first saw a monster. I made it to 60 potatoes then let the monsters get me. Your game does its thing well and is polished, nice work!
This was really fun to play and it has a solid feel to it. Glad the team is going to continue fleshing it out.
I noticed a minor annoyance, in that the hit area for planting/harvesting is little hard to pinpoint, but it's pretty minor.
I also wanted to see what happens when you harvest over 99 potatoes. lol!
I really enjoy the way that the enemies are shown with the latern. Great piece of art :)
love the art, I take a long time to understand how to put the seed on the ground.
Loved Harvest Moon growing up, so this was a treat! Loved the simplistic art style and music. Really liked the menu music. The Leshy-type monster spooked me and continued to creep me out the whole time. Interested to see it with some more features implemented! Only criticism is every once in a while, the tiles will separate while you're moving. I've had this issue before in Unity but it's been a while so I can't quite remember how to fix it, but it is fixable! Possibly a Garbage Collector thing, but maybe not considering the size of this game. Great job and keep making games!!
@Mister-Kweh Ha ha yea that was an annoying thing. I think it has to be do with floating point rounding errors, so if your screen size isn't right to match your tiles sizes, the edges of other tiles will bleed into the current tile. I couldn't figure out how to fix it in time, just ways to reduce the frequency, it was much worse LOL
@Ziamor That I understand. Time was a very precious resource when we were making our entry too. Literally submitted the web version right at 9. Check it out if you have time :D Still has some minor issues, but we're working to fix them now!

The art style is freakin good, but maybe you should put some focus on visual feedback like when the enemies hit you with some effect not only with sound. Otherwise, I like so much the lantern effect and the feelings that transmits the game are very great!
Super cool concept and well made, but it is very easy. I would recommend the addition of a battery meter so that you couldn't leave the flash light on all the time, and maybe have the monsters try and eat the potatoes when you aren't looking. I love the art, good job.
I love the concept! Game itself is extremely easy, but I think a lot of the stuff you have planned for future updates will help with that. The art looks great and I love the flashlight effect. Some of the monster designs are really creepy (in a good way) too.
I really liked what you made here. The graphics and sound were great. Strong atmosphere. That tall skinny skull monster was super creepy. Well done.
The game is incredible! I'm really impressed by overall feel of the your work. Well done! The graphics are awesome, I love how the flash light works, how it lights up the environment. The concept is there, and is good but I was lacking the thrill. I never really felt like in danger from monsters. I had to intentionally walk up to couple of them and stand next to them to see whether they even deal any damage. But that's just balancing the game out, and obviously in game jam there isn't that much time to spare. I think the monsters could destroy the crops or the house to make it more like a survival, instead of just walking around planting crops and doing same thing all over again ocasionally turning flashlight on. Maybe flashlight could have a meter that would have to recharge mashing buttons to shake batteries, but that would make you stop moving and monsters would take advantage of that. Otherwise really well done project. One of my favorites so far !
@Mister-Kweh I checked it out!
@Redhatto I was thinking off adding a noise mechanic at some point, for example planting potatoes will alert nearby monster to come at you. I do like the idea of monsters eating your potatoes as well, as well as the battery idea. Glad you liked the game!
Great overall feeling, but way too easy. The enemies didn't feel very threatening (although I love their spooky sprites). Good job with the graphics, the flashlight effect is super nice.
Very enjoyable but also very easy. The BGM and art style were all very nice. The contrast between light and dark was also a very nice touch. This manages to set a lot of mood, although it gets repetitive quick and the horror quickly dies down after you realize how little of a threat the enemies are. Nice work overall!
I included your game in my Best of Ludum Dare 41 video. Enjoy!

@ramza This is amazing, thanks for including us! I wish I had more time to work on the game so it would actually have some form of end goal and therefore proper game play, but with only 1.5 days to work with, I was surprised with what we got in the end all things considered!
Hey thanks for rating CornWars - Just played your game live on stream and left a rating.
I am missing some challange in the game. Probably ghosts should not only hunt you when you get near them.
