LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

How in the world were you guys able to create such complex assets within this much time! That's insane, this game looks like it's ready for market. It looks super polished both gameplaywise and graphicswise. If I were to point something out, it would be music. For me it was just too agressive. I know that you guys had that kind of vibe through out the project, and I respect that you followed your guidelines, that makes a game very unified. However if something is bugging players even within the style of your game, than I'd say it shouldn't be there... unless you are making a troll game than it's more than welcome haha ! No but seriously guys it's not that big of a deal, but I'd consider some more delicate tunes next time. Overall project looks amazing

Really cool idea, nicely delivered. Very simple yet solid graphics, game is really fun to play! I think that meat / patties could have a grid so they are not all over the place/ overlaping. Design wise i don't know if that's just the way I played but id never had to use the order cards other than the first one. I would just just the one on the left and ignore others. Maybe if they moved to the left instead of replacing the one right after serving. Suprisingly immersive, feels good to play. Nicely done :)

Single-Screen Open World RPG by pandademic42 2018-04-27T15:27:57Z

Hi I thought I could give you a little tip on graphics, when working with pixel art, try to get the pixels unified. So for example my character is 10px high, how high would be a castle next to him. So basically sense of scale. I know that in some rpg's on a map you get bigger characters and everything is small, but still a pixel size from a castle is the same size as the pixels on characters. It just looks more unified that way. I like the portraits tho :)

Really nice game, liked the music and visuals. Expecialy visuals tbh! I like how you guys had time to do some details like bent arm when you get too close to the duck's body with mouse. Funny original concept, although I think a game could use just a little polish. I managed to block myself with the bubbles and wasn't able to get out, but that's just game design and testing things out. Thought I would let you guys know about this. I'm impressed with amount of assets that you were able to prepare in such a short time. Good job

Yum Some!! by frostByte4k 2018-04-25T11:05:16Z

The game is quite fun, the visuals are really nice, but the controls are so confusing. I played it around 10 times and I still don't know how to control knife in first level. Just randomly spinning my mouse and trying co click on the carrots. And then next level I didn't manage to get through. The plate would spin out of nowhere sending carrots flying everywhere. But maybe that's the point. I gotta admit these issues made me mad to the point of not giving up, so I'd say it's quite addictive tbh.

Happy Harvest by Ziamor 2018-04-25T11:19:43Z

The game is incredible! I'm really impressed by overall feel of the your work. Well done! The graphics are awesome, I love how the flash light works, how it lights up the environment. The concept is there, and is good but I was lacking the thrill. I never really felt like in danger from monsters. I had to intentionally walk up to couple of them and stand next to them to see whether they even deal any damage. But that's just balancing the game out, and obviously in game jam there isn't that much time to spare. I think the monsters could destroy the crops or the house to make it more like a survival, instead of just walking around planting crops and doing same thing all over again ocasionally turning flashlight on. Maybe flashlight could have a meter that would have to recharge mashing buttons to shake batteries, but that would make you stop moving and monsters would take advantage of that. Otherwise really well done project. One of my favorites so far !

Teeny Tailors by Bobo Games 2018-04-25T11:26:09Z

I tried to play the game but of some reason none of the gui would show up. I managed to get through title screen clicking randomly where i thought the start button would be. Then I managed to do about 2 rounds of fight/ dress up which was really nice, but again I had no idea what I was doing just clicking empty spaces of background to make characters do something. The idea is really interesting, even without gui I could tell that this idea has quite the potential. Although I'd like to experience the game with no bugs, I dunno why none of the texts wouldn't show up

Fire Duck Football by Yohoho Games 2 2018-04-27T15:21:34Z

Oh boi, those sliding mechanics xD !! I was sliding all over the place haha! No but in all seriousness, pretty solid game! Quite enjoyable I'd say. I didn't get to play coop tho but I think it could get quite competative ;). I hate to say this but it really resembles rocketleague tho, with ducks instead of cars xP. Don't take it in a bad way, it's still enjoyable, just the idea could be a bit more original. One thing also bugged me a little. Every time I scored there would be a big mama duck in background which I think is really funny and cool, but I's love that they would change colors depending on who scores instead of being always that blue one. Nicely done, good job ;)

Spatialsurf by Chronorealm Productions 2018-04-25T10:32:44Z

Couldn't get the game to start. The preview looks interesting but when I try to open exe. file I just get an error. I'd like to try it out again once it's in playable state, good luck :) !

Rainy Night by kumabotz 2018-04-27T14:56:22Z

Pretty cool simple yet effective game. I like the concept. And I noticed that instead of looking at particular ducks later when game would speed up I would just generally try to notice anything ahead of me. The atmosphere was really dark and mysterious. I like the speed that you can get to. It's kinda like that chrome game with dinozaur when you don't have internet :). Made me want to play couple of times, try to beat my high score 159 ;) !

A Knight of Music by Danny88881 2018-04-25T11:40:38Z

Ok , this game is so freaking cute! I don't know what it is, but you've created something incredible. Platformer rhythm game is a very cool concept and for you guys to pull it off, that's impressive. I had pretty hard time focusing on two things at once but I guess that's the whole point. Music is incredible, art is really cute, run animation looks pretty good, the map brings a true retro vibe. You guys nailed the feel. If I were to bring something up it would probably be VFX, It's really subtle but it hurts my animators eyes to see a dust animation not following the angle of the jump. I would rather make a universal dust clouds moving along the ground and not following the character. If anything, going opposite direction. Also the animation when u start running, seems a bit stale and forced. I think subtle indication od movement would work better here. But that's again so insignificant for the whole game that you've made. Congrats guys

Ludums Kitchen by tommohawkaction 2018-04-27T15:35:20Z

The game looks great! The character, environments look super solid. Makes the whole experience much more pleasant. I gotta say the animations are also really cool. I like the dynamic attack animation, and also shaking screen! It's cool that whole game is based around 3 seperate environments, vertically and the lower you get the creepier it becomes with dungeons in basement. Good job guys ;) !!

Jet Boy by Harry Light 2018-04-25T10:45:36Z

Really enjoyed this one! The overall feel seems polished the controls are amazing. And retro style is just so well captured. Animations and screen shaking everytime you get hit just makes it really dynamic. Good job. Although for me the game was just too hard, i couldn't get through first turret. I wish the progression would be less of a steep curve to let players learn the mechanics first and beat couple of enemies first, then get to a boss fight. Otherwise the game is really impressive!
