Good job! I love the aesthetic of the game! It looks pretty, it's well animated, the feedback loops are well done, and the gameplay works wonderfully! I do wish that some of the sounds were better, but the minimalism of a lot of them flowed well and saved the ones that weren't as good. The cheeseburger noise was... interesting. Well done,, and good luck!
Fun little game. I had some sorta bug with cheese. everytime i clicked cheese all the cards were disabled. Couldn't understand anything when i started it although eventually i understood what was going on.

Great Job! Fun game!

Once I got what was happening, it got real fun! The part that confused me the most what that I had to read the lists from bottom to top
@notpresident35 Thanks! What noise is the cheeseburger noise? lol
@theviraldragon Thanks! yeah I wish I had time to make some sort of tutorial. The cards go down when your current plate doesn't match any of the orders. And since you put it on the plate from bottom up, you have to go through the cards backwards. Was it just because the order was wrong, or was there actually an issue with just the cheese?
@niborious I had a plate with bun - cheese - tomato and bun i think. But i clicked Bun - cheese it would get selected it was getting disabled.
Really cool game ! I think that is the game I spent the more time on it ^^ I love the calm music, that was not too hard, the art is simple and works well.
Cool game, keep coding :)
@theviraldragon I think you are just doing it upside down. I've had a couple people have this issue with not understanding the order. The order cards display what it should look like from top to bottom, but you build it from bottom to top. The cards fade out the foods you have already, from bottom to top, but it might not be noticeable enough. I think if I wanted to keep working on this game I should just allow upside-down orders, or have a segment explaining it.
@niborious Hmm ok. I thought all the orders are top to bottom. My bad. Anyways nice game. Congrats!
@niborious Oops I meant the patty frying noise! My mistake!

Play a little bit, but got a crash: ``` Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'name' of undefined at Order.checkOrder (bmarcelus.github.io/:1308) at Order.click (bmarcelus.github.io/:962) at Order.update (bmarcelus.github.io/:932) at Order.update (bmarcelus.github.io/:1249) at CookyGame.update (bmarcelus.github.io/:540) at CookyGame.update (bmarcelus.github.io/:1966) at step (bmarcelus.github.io/:506) ```
I was just making single orders and sending them as quickly as possible.
On my second playthrough I figured out I could queue up multiple orders, or even work on multiple orders, and that worked, and I didn't run into a crash =).
Was pretty fun for basically being just clicking on the words as they appear on screen. The patty cooking mechanic was pretty satisfying, had to plan ahead a little, and always felt bad when things were burnt ^_^. Made it past level 11 before I finally got bored.
@Jimbly Thank you for providing the error message! :) I was able to push a fix to the github link
That was a lot of fun. Loved the little humor of the burgers going off to fight it, and I loved that each burger had their own filling and you could see it in the fight. Well done!
I played on smartphone with web version and at first i dont undestand nothing, but now... I LOVE IT. Its a very clever idea and i want a complete version! 4 stars<3
The tower defense part didn't have much depth, and there was little depth in managing the burger army. I wish you could interact with the tower defense more. Still, a quick and entertaining game.
It was fun. The idea alone is worth a thumbs up :D At some point, I had no meat anymore, for some reason. So I lost when all orders required meat, finally. This is a solid game. Sure it gets a little boring after some time. But if you add more variety to the game-play, it could really be great!
I like The mix of genres very much!
Well Done!
Really fun game, had to read the instructions you left to notice the burgers needed to be build from top to bottom, I beat level one and I had 1 plate left when I clicked it the hole game crashed.
The console error: ``` Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'name' of undefined at Order.checkOrder (index.html:1308) at Order.click (index.html:962) at Order.update (index.html:932) at Order.update (index.html:1249) at CookyGame.update (index.html:540) at CookyGame.update (index.html:1966) at step (index.html:506) ```
That's a fun game ! It took a little time to figure out how to get meat, but when I understood, I liked the concept !

This was a good one. Thanks for this.
This game was a ton of fun. I love the neat little twist on on the cooking genre. Not many bad things I could say about the game. Great job! I also made a cooking style game and would love it if you'd check it out here's the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some
Nice work! Really like the style of the art work. It was a little confusing at first because I didn't know I had to click the order when I was done to send it off. Perhaps it'd be better to just have it auto send? or perhaps have orders go out on a timer and you could maybe get bonuses for more orders completed at a time? Just some suggestions :P

The gameplay is actually nicely balanced and engaging, One problem I had was that all my burgers in first level were vegetarian ;[.
Pretty cute graphics :) I ran into a bug where two orders matched the same burger and then when I clicked one it crashed.. Sorry, it all happened very fast so I'm not exactly sure what happened haha

That's really fun! I needed only like 30 seconds to understand the rules even without reading anything. Good job!
Love seeing some mobile-compatible games! This is a quick fun game, and I love pickles as the currency for upgrades. Well done!
Haha so much fun, never tried using the shortcuts but using the mouse worked fine.

At first try i couldn't figure out that there were poeple that i had to fight with burgers. Some sort of tutorial in game would be in order. In my android chrome i had no sound, and after i did don't-know-what, the game crashed into empty display with no buttons.
But after i figured out, what is happening, i really enjoyed playing it. Nice idea and even good, albeit a bit confusing, execution!
Mouse works fine. That game was cool! I'm sure I'm gonna coming back to this game :)
@blubberquark Its not really meant to be a tower defense game. Its based off of the genre where you have two bases fighting each other and you spawn different types of troops to automatically walk and attack. I don't know if this genre has a name, but I've been calling it Auto-RTS. There is a little bit more interaction with the top part in that you can mouse over the pickles that appear when you kill enemies to get more money if you do it before they disappear.
@reddogstone You get meat by grilling patties. You have to press patty first to get patties to start cooking and then they turn into meat. (this is something that could benefit from being explained in some sort of tutorial or text prompt)
@norris-eldridge Actually there is a slight bonus for completing orders as fast as possible, but the game doesn't really tell you. There is a dot in the corner of the cards that goes from green to red as time goes on, and completing the order faster buffs the burger that it spawns.
@tomeks Yeah the first level purposefully does not contain any meat as an introduction to the order mechanics. (this is something that could benefit from being explained in some sort of tutorial or text prompt)
@jangamesdev @schmavery @e-rvin Were you playing off of the itch link? or the github link (the one that takes over the whole browser)? I was able to catch and fix a game breaking bug, but I only updated the github because I get worried about updating the game after the compo deadline. But I think that the rules say that this is fine, and its definitely better to fix it everywhere so people don't have to worry about crashing. But if this is from the github link, I'll have to debug and find the new error

@niborious It was supposed to be a joke about these veggie burgers, I got the design choice right away, and it's a very logical one :)
@tomeks oh lol, I see the winky face now haha
Surprisingly addictive! Good job!

Really cool idea, nicely delivered. Very simple yet solid graphics, game is really fun to play! I think that meat / patties could have a grid so they are not all over the place/ overlaping. Design wise i don't know if that's just the way I played but id never had to use the order cards other than the first one. I would just just the one on the left and ignore others. Maybe if they moved to the left instead of replacing the one right after serving. Suprisingly immersive, feels good to play. Nicely done :)
I enjoyed the game, but the fighting at the top stressed me out!
